Chapter 15 - Chapter 14

"With all due respect my Queen, they are not ready to fight in a war," Samuel spoke as the two girls, and I rested against the cold wall. We slept a few minutes until I looked at the map. The Vampires had taken the corner and most of the eastern half of Oregon. A tidal wave of red had slowly swallowed the western territory.

After they argued more, the brothers both sighed in loose with the Queen grinning in triumph. When all of us climbed the stairs, our amulets all lit up as the door opened, leaving us to move the rug to the side to escape. With all of us out, the ground shook as the door underneath closed.

"Where on earth have you been!?" A voice screeched throughout the chapel as a woman with strawberry blond hair and light green eyes looked right at me.

"Hey… mom. I was helping these people fix up the church." I told her as she walked to me, pulled me away, telling me I had a test to study for in my worst subject. She looked behind her apologizing for her behavior as she asked for Nancy and Zena to get in the car too.

"Mom, can I at least get my bag and say goodbye to my friends?" I asked as I saw a figure overshadowing us. He walked toward us as his canine teeth grew and hung over his lips as our amulets glowed softly.

Mom screamed as he rushed towards us unnaturally and launched a straight hand towards her. I pulled her back with my tail as she spun to the others, I sidestepped, but not without getting grazed on the side. The taste of copper escaped my mouth as droplets of blood stained the granite floor.

"I came here by order of Lord Vlad and Lady Báthory. To tell you gargoyles that the battle will take place in New York, where the twin towers once stood on March the 27th." The man said in a croaked voice as he stood casually.

I growled at him, grunting in pain, applying pressure to the wound. I saw the walls shining with a blue hue and thanks to the amulet I wore I felt the Queens magic behind me as the air shimmered. She was preparing a massive attack on our intruder.

"Why New York? Seems kind of cliché to be having any war over there if you ask me." The light grew as the air behind me became hot as I forced my wings out and used them to escape, to the side of the pews offering protection.

My vision was becoming brighter, and my hearing was being distorted. "Tell your King this. We will come, and I will have the head of the Son of Dragon and his sadistic countess of a whore!" She told him in a snarling voice, blasting a beam of magic at the intruder, forcing him to back away. As the man screamed, I collapsed onto the floor, hearing something hissing and bubbling.
