Coming out of the unlit space, my eyes met with what appeared was a ruined temple made of limestone. Before taking a step, I noticed that two colossal humanoid statues guarding an arc. The right one, however, was to the corner of the room with everything above the knee with it. Everything else was where it must have been, on the opposite side of the slightly better statue, even if the left one was missing an arm.

'If the entrance is this bad, then I better go into stealth mode.' I thought as I turned invisible; however, that didn't help. As soon as I took a few steps forward, the statues came alive as the one lying in the corner grunted and crawled towards me. As it did, the one with the missing arm stepped with a groundbreaking stomp as it grabbed me with its only hand. Before it crushed me, I went full gargoyle attempting to keep my ribs and lungs in me.

Instead of getting tighter, the hand gently released its hold on me as I looked up and saw characters in the Hebrew language. הגן על meaning To Protect. As I turned around the other one was getting to his pedestal and aligned itself with its legs. The one now standing up had the word להגן על, To Defend.

As I fell, the one with the missing arm returned to its pedestal as both of them put their right limb across their chest as they spoke in a slow and rough speech. "Comrade… enter." I bowed in return, unaware of what horrors awaited me.

After passing the arc, I saw a pile of blackened bones with pieces of flesh lying on the ground with the severed head looking at me with his glistening, needle-like fangs, underneath the wall with a spike sticking out. 'So that's a vampire.' I pulled the rod out of the wall.

Turning to the hallway where the stick pointed its butt too, I walked halfway before I smelled a powerful scent of copper. I followed the smell to only find the remains of a girl, a few years older than me. I hurled the remains of my last meal on the floor as I closed the girl's eyelids, feeling one socket to be empty. After that, I laid her hands in her lap and walked towards an opened, dome-like area lit with an orange hue.

When I got there, the entrance looked like child's play, and it was a scene of hell. Body parts strewn across the room like confetti at a kids' party with earthen spikes impaled some women. Several people were missing their heads, with blood splattering the walls and even the ceiling. Axes, long swords, and pikes were all stained with the blood of the fallen.

With anger and grief-stricken tears, I swung the spear at a pile of dead vampires and sent limbs flying through the fire that was in the center of the room. Feeling my energy escaping from that act, I fell to my knees, crying at the loss of the people in the coven. After the tears stopped, I stood up, using the stained weapon as support.

I looked around the room, looking for Nancy or any other people breathing. Without vomiting the rest of my insides, I looked at the bodies, hoping one of them was still alive. After finding a girl with a pulse, I gently poked her. "Hey, miss, are you able to walk?" I asked as she answered me with a groan.

As I stepped back, the black-haired girl opened her dark green eyes as she raised her glowing hand, as if to attack me with a spell. I slowly removed the stone, hanging from my neck into view as she rested her body. "Cameo, about time you guys got here." The girl said in a raspy voice.

"Hey easy, I will get you and any others to a hospital. Where's Nancy and Sorcha?" I asked urgently as the girl pointed to a body on the other side of the room, surrounded by three piles of what were vampires. They skewered the body with a long sword and a spear where her bosom once was, a metal rod in her nether region, still hot as the metal hissed on the cold ground. An ax laid near the third pile, which was also where her left arm was, detached from her body.

Running over there, I saw that it was the bright red curls of Sorcha. I bowed my head in thanks for this gift that she and the others gave me. 'I will not let you die in vain, I… no, we will kill the bastard that did this to you and your coven.' I thought as I went back to the survivor.

"Can you use a spell to locate any other survivors in this place?" I asked as the girl shook her head. She sweat profoundly. "Well then, time to get you to a hospital." I picked her up bridal style and ran like the devil.

Once we were near the arc, I let out my wings as I sped towards the entrance with a flap of them. "Hold on!" I yelled at her as I changed the rest of myself into stone as we flew into the darkening sky.
