Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Exile

Jarod and Arlyn were standing at gate that bordered the real world on Earth and Hell. In front of them, was Morina and Lucifer, both had stone cold faces, emotionless.

Jarod was currently wearing a black long sleeved shirt that had white stitches around the elbow and shoulder part, looking like lightning bolts with a pair of baggy black cargo pants that seemed to go perfectly with the shirt with a pair of white bandages around his fingers and some black hiking shoes. Basically, he liked the color black.

On his waist was a single sword. It was a straight black blade that was made out of a melted steel from an angels sword, said to be able to kill any supernatural creature, including demons with a few exceptions. These exceptions meant the most powerful demons.

"That sword was once mine when I was still an Angel in Heaven. However, once I was turned into a demon and entered Hell, I smelted it down to that, and let my best blacksmith shape it. It has a few enchantments, meaning no normal human may see it. It has served me well, and I hope that it will serve you as well as it did me." Jarod nodded once, thanking his father silently.

"And I give this to you, Arlyn." Morina said, handing the girl a bow and a quiver. "This bow has an unlimited amount of arrows, just reach into the quiver and an arrow shall automatically load the bow with an arrow. Just think of whatever type of arrow and it shall appear. So, use your imagination." Arlyn nodded.

"Thank you master." She turned to Lucifer. "So for how long must we be out there?" Lucifer looked at a fancy gold watch on his hand.

"You must be out there for as long as it takes you to complete your task. You must retrieve a very powerful artifact. The Legendary Sword that guards the garden Eden. This will not be an easy task. There are many guards, including an angel."

"And we're just supposed to do this without any of our powers? You're sentencing us to death." Jarod said, his voice held uncontained anger. Lucifer's eyes softened.

"I know, my son, and for that, I am truly sorry." He went to put his hand on Jarod's shoulder, but Jarod just shrugged the King of Demon's hand off and walked towards the gates.

"Come Arlyn, we have to go." Jarod said softly, looking back at the black haired girl.

She was wearing a white short sleeve shirt with a brown leather jacket on it with a pair of skinny jeans that she assured him would not restrict her flexibility, though he was still skeptical. She was also wearing white converses, and black gloves. She also had a sword by her side as well, though it was nothing special like Jarod's, except it's blade was a white sword, and normal humans could not see it as well.

"Okay." She turned around and walked up to Jarod. Jarod turned around and looked Lucifer in the eyes.

"When I get that sword, I'll kill that damned council with it." He turned around before scoffing. "King of all demons my ass." And he vanished as he walked through the gate. Arlyn didn't say anything else as she walked through the gate, trying to catch up with the hybrid demon. Lucifer turned to Morina.

"I hope we did the right thing." He said. Morina shrugged.

"I hope we did too. But this is the only way they can grow stronger. Experience." Lucifer only nodded, before vanishing in a swirl of black, leaving Morina to worry about the two teens silently.

With Jarod and Arlyn

"I can't believe this shit!" Jarod screamed after he appeared into the middle of the forest at night. "After everything we did to get back to Hell, all that stupid training, we just get kicked out on a suicide mission!" Arlyn, who appeared out of the invisible portal behind a second after him, frowned.

"We will only die if we fail." Jarod rolled his eyes before taking out his sword and swiping at a poor tree several times sloppily, getting it to look like it was a pride of lions scratching post. Arlyn rose an eyebrow.

"We both know you can do better than a few marks on a tree." Jarod glared at her before swiping at it with a sideways swipe, cutting through the trunk like a hot knife through butter, making it topple down on a few more trees.

"Is that better?" He said sarcastically. Arlyn nodded.

"Much." He blew his hair out from his eyes and turned around to face her.

"Do you know where we are?" He asked. Arlyn nodded, before taking out a map. His eyes widened.

"Where did you get that?" He asked, walking closer to her, his eyes filled with questions. She looked down at the map before answering him.

"Master slipped it to me when she gave me the bow." She said, not looking up, tracing her finger along the paper that seemed like their lifeline. She poked down on a certain point on the map. "It seems we are in a forest near a place in Virginia called Farmville." Jarod sighed.

"I have no idea where that is. Does it say where the so called "Legendary Sword" is at?" She nodded.

"Its apparently in a place called Mesa in the state of Arizona. I think that's the super hot place of the United States?" Jarod nodded. "The sword is the cause of that. Apparently, it's so hot that it would turn any human who dare touch it to ashes." Jarod smirked.

"Good thing were not humans then, eh?" Arlyn shrugged before closing the map.

"We have a long way to go if we want to get back home. Plus, our demon auras can't be good, especially yours, it's abnormally large."

"You got that right." Another voice said. Jarod looked around, only to see nothing. Arlyn, however, was looking up, searching the trees, before pointing to a certain one.

"Vampire." Was all she said. Jarod followed her hand and saw a tall pale-skinned boy, probably around the same age as them or older. He gave them a cocky laugh as he jumped off the branch he was standing on, landing in front of Jarod.

"So you're the new royalty in town eh?" He sniffed Jarod, making him cringe. "Don't look like much." Jarod, who was frozen in his place, only gave off an awkward laugh.

"D-don't test me." He said in a shaky voice, never meeting a vampire before. The vampire just laughed.

"The fear coming off of you is hilarious. The Prince of the Demons is scared of a vampire." He said, snickering.

"Don't let him get to you Jarod. He only wants to make you angry." Jarod glanced at her, his hand around the handle of his sword tightened.

"This guy reminds of a douche I used to know." Jarod said. The vampire looked offended for a second, making a gesture indicating so.

"Me? A douche? No." He then smirked. "I prefer the word 'monster'."

"How about you fuck off?" Jarod replied, no longer scared of the teen, turning around to face him. He had pale skin, with brown hair that was swished towards the side and a black shirt with tattoos littering his arms with leather gloves on. The vampire smiled, showing off his fangs.

"I was never fucking on." He then turned to Arlyn. "Unless you really want me to." Jarod felt a rage explode in his stomach as he punched the vampire boy in the stomach, sending him into a nearby tree.

"Interesting. It seems they only sealed off our powers. Not our physical prowess, meaning you still have your strength and speed." Arlyn noted. Jarod smirked.

"Good." The vampire stood back up, a scowl on his face.

"What angry that I made a move on your girlfriend?" He said angrily. Jarod's face turned red before appearing behind the vampire with his speed.

"It's not like that!" He yelled, before swinging at the vampire again, but hit mid air. A laughing voice was heard behind him. He turned around to see the teen standing on a tree.

"Sure it isn't." He replied, before razor like claws appeared on his hands. "Now, let's see what your blood taste like!" He said before jumping straight towards Jarod with blinding speed. Jarod instinctively pulled out his sword, and used it to block the claws and sparks flew off, along with a few fingernails. "My nails!" The vampire screeched. Jarod gave him a dark smile.

"Oops." He said innocently before plunging the surprised vampire in the stomach with the sword. "Die!" Arlyn sighed.

"They can only die by getting stabbed in the heart or cutting their heads off!" Jarod's eyes widened before a claw seemingly swiped at his face, making him lose grip of his sword and be sent flying.

The teen vampire licked his remaining claws, the ones with Jarod's blood on them. "Mmm, you taste divine." He said. "Let me have more!" He said, getting the sword out of his stomach. Jarod looked up, his vision blurry as he felt a warm liquid trail down his face. He saw Arlyn's figure fighting the vampire with his sword in her left hand. He stood up and saw her get kicked in the stomach into the tree.

"Now, let's see how you taste!" The vampire said before charging her, his fangs out and mouth open towards her neck. He then felt something jump on his back, revealing Jarod with a slightly crazed look.

"Good idea!" He shouted before clamping his jaw down on the vampire's neck, letting the blood squirt into his mouth. Putting both feet on the vampire's back and pushing off, his neck still in between his jaws, ripped the vampire's flesh straight off.

He spit out the few pieces of meat from his mouth. "You're blood taste horrible. No wonder you have to drink other people's blood." He said, wiping the blood off the corner of his mouth with his arm. The vampire was on his knee, clutching the area Jarod had bit him.

"Y-y-you bit m-m-me!" He shouted, pointing at Jarod like it was the most surprising thing he had ever seen.

"T-t-today bitch." Jarod said. "Yeah, I did, so what? I won't do it again if that's what you're wondering, you taste like rotten meat, and I know what that taste like." He said before he appeared behind the monster, his sword somehow in his hand. "Now, I'll kill you this time!" He sliced off the vampire's head, not caring the blood that splattered on his face.

He put his now bloody sword in his sheathe before turning around to see Arlyn standing up, completely unharmed. He rose an eyebrow. "I thought you lost?" She shook her head.

"I wanted you to get him. You need more experience with this kind of stuff." He nodded, not quite understanding, but accepted the answer. "Come on, these bastards travel in packs, more will come soon." Jarod nodded before following Arlyn out of the woods.

Arlyn kept a watchful eye on the Prince, worry creeping into her chest. It wasn't Jarod who killed the vampire, but Dark Jarod.

She would have to pay close attention for now on. . .
