Sora's Perspective:
I finished crushing his lifeless body. As my lungs strained to draw a single breath, I struggled to pull away. When my vision cleared, I took notice of a small crack along the surface below, releasing an aura of death as I approached cautiously, reaching down towards the broken remains. There, lying unmoving against the darkened background that surrounded both of them,.
It was difficult to tell if his limbs moved because the sky was growing brighter than before from the distant sunlight that now poured from the cloudless heavens.
"Sora… What are you?" Remi trembled under her words.
"I am the result of a tragedy. If Williams never did what he did, I'm sure things would have turned out differently." I snapped at them.
She noticed something I didn't at first; her facial expression twisted and changed as the mana seemed to gather up around me. In a flash of blinding darkness, her features morphed together, and her body slowly materialized from her very being. She floated above the ground, floating in place. Remi let out a low gasp as she gazed down upon me.
It wasn't enough. I've fought against beings who could rip this forest to shreds with a flick of their wrist.
"ENZO NOW!" Remi shouted at the top of her lungs, and through pure instinct, Enzo's sword cut through my flesh as he plunged it through my upper abdomen. However, it was nothing but a distraction. As soon as the sword was removed, I sliced Enzo's eye with a quick claw strike. He screamed in pain while falling backward, dropping the weapon down onto the soil. The cut was too deep, and I was unable to heal.
Enzo fell to the ground, his head bashing against the stone tiles and grass as he landed, motionless and unconscious from his injuries. This wound won't stop my progress, nor will it change the fact that they're all going to be put to rest by me. They will die, and I will consume them, no matter if it takes longer. I'm stronger, and their pathetic magic means little.
"I'm sorry, Enzo; please, please forgive me." Remi whimpered out tears, beginning to form in her eyes as her lips curled into a scowl.
Her eyes bore into mine. She looked angry. I want them dead. Remi launched herself into the sky, charging towards me and releasing lightning magic into the sky. Her hands twisted and her shoulders contorted as they turned an unnatural shade of white-purple like ice frozen over, frostbite setting in and stiffening her arms while her teeth ground.
The mana around her transformed as her aura exploded in a blazing inferno, burning bright blue as an orb surrounded her. All of this, as well as everything else around them, went quiet, with only the beating heart thumps filling the air with beats of rhythmic energy from their throbbing blood vessels.
"Remi, give up. This futile attempt to take me down will only kill you. I understand how strong you are, but you cannot win against me."
"Sora, we will never surrender; never," Remi screamed back while launching another round of spells down. This was my chance. The aura is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of her weak points. If this attack fails, then everything will be in vain, and I'm dead.
My body cracked as mana circulated through me, my left arm pulsating. It felt like hot iron, and my right shoulder pulsated; however, this pulsation was more pleasurable, almost ecstatic. The sensation went right up my spine, tingling and causing a slight tremor from the cold that shook within every pore, causing my lips to go numb from their overwhelming excitement and desire to fight off against those who stand in their way.
This wasn't supposed to happen. Why am I losing control?
Remi launched another volley of spells, and I barely missed each one of them, the scorching heat of the spells barely grazing my backside and only narrowly singeing the edges of my clothing, melting small droplets of the fabric while doing so and causing an explosion of fire behind me. The smell of singed hair filled the air as the blazing blue fires dissipated.
As I tumbled and skidded against the ground, my momentum carrying me over several large boulders and fallen trees, I caught myself against a lone rock, which caused the entirety of my side to feel searing pain as though molten lava burned away at it before dying out. I clutched onto my injured left arm, trying desperately not to reveal weakness as Remi drew nearer. She charged at a rate of several hundred meters per second, with an immense amount of energy behind it. My legs and right shoulder crumbled from the stress of my weight, and my skin cracked with cuts forming from the force of the blow.
I slammed my palm against her forehead and attempted to drive her upward to avoid the onslaught of blows that followed after me. The sheer force caused her entire body to falter for a few moments before correcting itself, yet she regained her footing quickly and began slashing rapidly. As soon as she pulled back for a kick, a massive wallop came into contact with the side of her face, throwing her backward again but allowing my right leg to get stuck between hers, kicking her stomach.
My right shoulder stung as it hit hard against her shins. She recovered almost immediately after falling against the dirt, her hands lunging forth like deadly missiles aimed directly at me.
In one of the skirmishes, she threw a left jab, connecting against me while simultaneously striking with her right fist. With my left arm broken and unable to support itself against the powerful blow, her punch broke apart bone and tissue in its wake, creating deep bruises on my upper body.
"I guess my battle with Cronus has left me in this pathetic state. I used a lot of mana to make a clone of myself."
She went for another round of hits before bringing forth a series of slashes, cutting shallow lines through my chest while avoiding penetrating deep. As my blood leaked down from my wounds onto the dry soil below, she brought up a powerful, brutal uppercut strike aimed directly at me before whipping me backwards.
After blocking, a crushing knee strike struck into my pelvis. As it sent me flying backward and away, she spun around with her remaining arm, sending a kick in her direction. Although I blocked it with my good arm and pushed it off, my leg still hurt immensely, and I stumbled onto my backside, making it harder to recover.
She started advancing towards me as if ready for her final blows. After I got up and took three steps backward, Remi charged towards me. She whipped her hand back, smacking me across the face and drawing a small bit of blood. She grabbed onto my collar before pulling me close, glaring daggers into her. Her irises contracted and turned red, boiling in anger as flames sprouted from her nostrils and steam rose off her heated body.
Her lips quivered in disbelief as she gripped tightly around my neck, nearly crushing it under her grip as we made direct eye contact once more. Then her palms erupted in electricity as a storm of wind pushed me towards her; however, there wasn't anywhere else for me to move. The air thickened rapidly before swirling like a cyclone and hurling me into the air. Her hands moved across my collarbone like wildfire before moving up towards my forehead and grasping onto it.
"RAYNE! END THIS NOW!" Remi screamed.
A blinding, multicolored light erupted from her outstretched palms, radiating around her and encircling her in a blinding aura before shooting out at me; yet, her light dimmed when my hand was placed firmly between its palms, leaving only remnants. The wind rushed into the empty void left behind by the spell and smashed into both sides of its frame. It's about to shatter. I kicked Remi in the stomach with all my strength, cracking her armor in half as well as knocking her breath out of her lungs, causing her to fall back in agony onto the ground beneath her. I launched forward, clasping tightly onto her shoulders, forcing her entire back and spine against the floor with my knees placed on either side.
"Remi I think it's about time I end this, don't you think?" I said it in a soft voice. Before I could finish her off, her eyes looked at me with such fear. What is this feeling of remorse?
"No, I won't let you win!" Her eyes bulged as she yelled, struggling and writhing around with all of her strength, trying desperately to push me off.
But it didn't matter. I don't care about anything anymore. So this is revenge. My eyes shifted into red slits with burning fire while her vision trembled, looking straight back at mine.
"Now what? This fight isn't over yet. And when it ends, you won't get the privilege to see your kingdom burn like so many others. Those same kingdoms have fallen into my hands already. There will be nothing left for anyone because I can control your body without consent. I could tear off every last piece of skin on you and burn it for fuel."
"Your country is destroyed, its people ravaged, and its soldiers massacred. Everything has fallen into ruin. There is no home to return to anymore. " I shouted, laughing with every last ounce of strength I could manage.
"Let her go, Sora." Reagan said as he walked up to us. He had an eerily calm and collected look on his face as he approached us. Remi's gaze drifted over towards her companion. She still held onto my shoulder and leg with a grip that refused to let up, no matter how hard she tried. Her hands kept me suspended above her. The heat of her body seemed unbearable, and her pupils became dilated to pinpricks. I was paralyzed.
I was getting increasingly irritated with the interference of everyone here. I don't know why I couldn't get her to let go. "FUCK OFF, LET GO OF ME!" I yelled out as I started punching her with my freed-up arm. My blows only seemed to make things worse for us. She yelled with every single one but continued to keep a firm hold.
"REAGAN, END THIS NOW!" She screamed with pure hatred, throwing her whole body weight into the strike. A vicious crack was heard as her head snapped to the side and struck against a rock, knocking her unconscious. She crumpled to the ground like a sack of wet meat, covered in dirt and bleeding heavily from her cracked, open skull.
This is my opportunity. There won't be another opportunity like this to make a connection with her. She could've helped me find a better path, but instead, she failed her kingdom. Now everything is dead because of these two fucking bastards.
"ZABIMARU, COME FORTH!" Reagan cried out as he unsheathed his katana and released a violent gust of wind from it, slicing straight toward me.
"Enough already." I sighed deeply. The very sight of him angered me so much that I wanted nothing more than to be rid of him. However, my own dark instincts seemed to have won this time. Perhaps I should've had this fun earlier, but now I get to destroy something even bigger than the last time. "It's time for me to take my leave. No hard feelings, okay?" I spoke out loud.
"Wha—!" Reagan froze solid like an ice statue, his weapon lying motionlessly beside him on the floor.
"DON'T LEAVE YET SORA, WE AREN'T FINISHED HERE!" He screamed out to me.
There's no need, I teleported away. There was no point in continuing this. They failed to finish what they started, and now we can move on with our day. It won't take much longer. Not long now at least. They will meet the same fate as their beloved king and queen.
