Our bodies heaved as we continued to push ourselves in the forest, running as far and as deep as we could in the darkness. The cold chased after us as though attached to the heels of our souls, like monsters it caused the fear within us to ignition the adrenaline.
How far would be too far? Where would we find solace? And would death come knocking at our doorsteps and rob us of the life we still had to live? Sabotaging us of the little we desired and the life we could have had… we desired freedom but death desired us.
We had all scattered as soon as we heard the gun, pushing ourselves deeper into the forest, not caring that we barely had any clothing on. The darkness gloated creating an illusion that we were in an arena and the stars bright being loud in their own special way.
