"Oh honey.... I was referring to my home."
Michael and I shared the same worried expression upon hearing what she just said. I didn't know what was gonna happen next and that was scary enough for my knees to tremble. Harry roughly shoved his back on the seat and ran his fingers through his wet hair.
"And where is this home of yours?" he asked politely, still trying to hide his disappointment.
"About ten kilometers more." she said calmly. Her finger gently tapped on the steering wheel along with the rhythm of the song playing.
Then there was silence. Only the sound from the radio and the faint whistling of the wind outside could be heard. Michael and I exchanged glances every once in a while, eyes searching for any clues or any plans in mind but we were both stuck at just sighing and probably, praying.
"Hey, I'm no serial killer." She said trying to sound a bit offended. "I was just thinking that maybe you guys should take a rest first then I'm going to take you to the nearest hospital by sunrise. That sounds better right?"
"I'm worried about her, she might lose a lot of blood." Harry leaned forward, resting his elbows over his knees. The light from the ceiling hits his face, her eyes widened as she glanced at him from the rear view mirror and recognized him right away.
"You're Michael Roy right? Please tell me I'm right." there was some sort of excitement in her voice.
He sighed. "Yeah, you're right." He paused for a while, I knew he was about to say something. He looked at me, hesitating. "Um, so.. Did that uh... change your mind about taking us to the hospital right now?" he said definitely using his charm. I tried to stifle a giggle. This boy knwe he had got it.
She laughed. "No. I know you're from a famous band & you are a good singer, but I'm not gonna go fangirling on you. I'm thirty eight, I'm not into now a days music anymore. We're still going to my home. I know something about first aid so, you don't have to worry about her."
He sighed, leaning back into the seat. I sticked out my tongue, teasing on how his irresistible charm got rejected, unfortunately. His eyes widened, "Hey, I'm just worried about you." he whispered.
I smiled. "I'm fine Michael, it's a safe distance to my heart and other organs though." I leaned on his shoulder, feeling a bit calm about the situation. He kissed the top of my head, as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I'm really sorry about what happened." he whispered through my hair.
I simply nodded. I knew it was not his fault, he wasn't the one who fired the gun. I was just the unfortunate one who happened to be standing there when that monster pulled the trigger.
"I'm Emily by the way." the lady spoke.
"Nice meeting you Emily. I'm Andria." I said.
She squinted her eyes, staring at me though the rear view mirror until her eyes went wide in shock. "Shit! You're Andria Roberts! I'm sorry it's pretty dark back there I didn't recognize you." I just smiled at her, she definitely didn't act like a thirty eight year old lady. "I can't believe there are actual celebrities in my car right now, God this is great!"
I didn't pay much attention on her saying something about how the rumors were true about me and Harry once we passed on where I parked my motorcycle. It was still there. But what brought me into a sudden shock was that a man, with a broken mask stood there, a few meters behind it.. standing in the middle of the pathway.
I leaned closer to the window, blinking a couple of times, thinking it was just my imagination. And to my extreme luck, he was looking straight at me.
"Michael.." I said, reaching for him though my eyes never left the features of that man who still seemed to look at me, as his head turned where the car was going. "..Michael!!" I screamed quite hysterically.
"What is it Andria? What happened?" he said scooting closer to me.
"He saw me Michael.." I gripped tightly on his shirt. "He's there standing in the middle of the pathway and he's looking at me! We have to go home Michael, he's gonna follow us and they're gonna kill us!" I cried out, words barely understandable.
"Honey, calm down. There's no way he's gonna see you through that tinted glass. I'm sure of that." Emily said giving me a quick glance through the rear view mirror.
Michael quickly wrapped his arms around me. Rubbing smooth circles on my back as I continued to cry out loud. My heart just wouldn't stop drumming incredibly fast and it just felt like something was wrong. Something about that man there and the way he looked, like he saw me through this tinted glass.
"If something went wrong here.." Michael whispered, clear enough for me to hear through the music playing on the radio. "..I want you to think straight and be brave." When he pulled out of our embrace, he cupped my cheeks, his green eyes gazed into mine. Giving me a reassuring look, giving me strength. "I love you, Andria.. and I promise I'll protect you until my last breath. Don't be afraid, I'm here."
The music being played on the radio stopped. Emily was gazing at us through the rear view mirror, a smirk playing in her lips as the car came to a halt.
"We're here."...
