Donatello tried to lie about having an embarrassing skin condition, but the guards didn't let up. It was apparent that they would figure out who we were if we didn't remove our hoods, so Donatello, George, Joan, and Nathaniel all held onto their weapons as Joan and I reached for our hoods. The guards stared at my face for a bit before asking what was in our cargo and for our names.
I tried to say my name, but I couldn't. I physically could not say my own given name. Merlin then stepped up and told the guards that I was scared of strangers and referred to me as his son. Nara then told them made up names and one thing was strange was that all the guys got female sounding names, while all the girls were given guys' names. Though we were all confused, we got into the city and headed for Merlin's house.
When we arrived, we saw that his house had been turned into an inn and his most prized possessions were all gone. He smiled at the inn and commented how a lot had changed in 15 years. Once in our room, we asked Nara and Merlin what happened at the gate, and Merlin told us that he put a spell on us while we were walking to the gate. To each other, we looked normal, but to others, we looked like our exact opposites. He then turned to his bag and took out 3 cards and set them on the floor and asked me to help him cast a spell.
I didn't know what to do, so he told me to hold his hand and trust him, so I did. He said some strange words and I repeated them after him. I felt something rush in through my feet to my eyes and the cards began to glow and hover in the air. When they settled down, they had a strange glowing inscription on them. The cards were made to take us to our hero. They were to stop glowing when the hero we were looking for held them.
After this, we all decided to go to bed. I woke up from a dream to get some water, when I saw George and Joan sneaking out. Nara saw it too.
