Chapter 6 - Chapter 4. Emrick

Blood slowly dripped down my face as the wounds decorating my body slowly started to heal through the cuts of my shirt. My erratic breathing filled my ears as the sound of leaves crunched heavily under my feet.

I couldn't think, I couldn't feel, I didn't feel.

The urge growing within me to get to my mate before the others pierced my skin sharply. I knew things could turn out much worse if news traveled to her before I told her myself. My chest rose rapidly as the thoughts of what could happen clouded my mind.

The low growl emitted from my throat dove deeper and deeper into my lungs releasing itself as a slow but intense cloud of high. However, pain released from my lungs..nothing but pain. A mistake I made centuries ago has finally caught up with me.

I couldn't run from it; the scene was here. The failing and exposing of the truth was and had to be done through me. I walked through the front of the castle with anticipation. Paradises scent was light; quickly sending urgency through my bloodstream.

"Paradise!" No response.

"Paradise!" I slowly walked towards the steps listening for a heartbeat or response.

My last cry caused me to stop in my tracks.

"She's gone." My mother stated as she tossed a circular-like object towards me.

I looked down at the wedding ring laying flat in the palm of my hand.

"I found it on the floor when I came in." She gently rubbed the front of her dress.

"She will come back." My mother attempted to make the situation better but it was already bound for hell. My unsettled feelings were igniting flames as I yelled for my sister's name.

Em paced towards the steps. Her demeanor was far from her usual self and the tears on her face revealed more than what she was willing to reveal. She slowly walked down the steps releasing more tears.

I growled, "Where is she?"

The air in the room slowly started to condense as the tension in the room grew.

"I don't know." She whined as more tears fell down her face.

"Where the fuck is she?" I slowly walked towards her lowly growling.

I needed to know where she was.

Em stepped back and widened her eyes.

"I don't know." She slowly replied as her eyes hardened.

"Back off." My mother quickly stepped forward.

"Can't even face your own fucking mistakes. Pathetic." Angeline growled as she slowly stepped towards me.

Her feelings were gone. Emotions devoured. Reflecting through the pools of black death starring back in my eyes.

"Stay the fuck out of this." My eyes hardened as I stared back at all the faces starring at me.

"I hate you." She growled as a smirk formed slightly on her face. I stepped towards her ready to rip her apart.

"Go back to hell." I cracked my knuckles ready for anything.

"I would be glad to. Why don't I take you with me?" She quickly charged towards me only to be blocked by my father.

"IN MY FUCKING OFFICE NOW!" Angeline fell to the floor as I followed behind my father.

"This shit has to end here." Leviticus lurked in the darkness of the room closet to the left as my father slowly gripped the table.

Angeline barged in eventually taking her place at the center of the room. Always the fucking center of everything.

"What's going on?" My father left the question in the air for anyone in the room to grab it.

Yet, when given the opportunity knowing this was centuries bound I couldn't find myself to answer the question.

"You know what happened?" I ruffled my hair as I tried to gather my thoughts. Leviticus lowly snarled.

"I think we all fucking know what happened. - Father let me kill him." Instantly I shot up prepared for the ongoing threats to start becoming physical actions.

"Sit down! - No one is killing anyone." Father raised his hand as mother immediately walked in.

"It's time to answer the question and to finally tell the family the truth." Her voice was sincere and caring.

Yet, the seriousness showed that playtime was over and the truth was to be revealed.

Angeline stepped forward,

"I loved him.. We were young. No one knew the fates were aligning mates in this way." Her voice lightened slightly as she walked through a door that she kept closed for so long.

"Pregnancy was never supposed to happen.." I quickly interrupted her.

"Then how the fuck did it, Angeline.. We all have unanswered questions." Mother's face quickly silenced me as Angeline continued her story.

"Em is this even possible? I mean how is this possible?" I wiped my face as I stared into space trying so hard to process what Matthew told me.

Was this possible? Yes, of course, but a witch. Emrick.. did he know? Does he know?

As quickly as Emrick popped in my head he was quickly pushed out. I pushed the hair out from the front of my face. Of course, Emrick didn't know she was a witch and I know for a fact that he didn't know about the twins. Hell, the boy is still in the dark about the whole pregnancy.

"Emerald? Baby?" Matthews cried from the phone pulled me back into reality.

"I'll be over there soon. The family will be in father's office for a while." I quickly ended the call and snuck off before anyone could and would notice.

Paradise had to be freaking out and seeking answers - we both were; at least I knew I was. I thought if something like this would have occurred that Paradise would have at least been aware but I guess not.

I continued to replay multiple scenarios in my head on if Paradise knew or if she could have known the slightest bit. Maybe she carried a different scent but all I could smell was human.

This was insane. If Paradise is a witch then that means her mother or father is or was a witch. The thoughts of everything possible tried to manifest and yet I knew my thoughts were far from the truth.

I laid my head on the steering wheel in an attempt to relieve my thoughts. The more I tried the harder the thoughts came. Quickly releasing a defeated breath I headed towards my mates' house to uncover unknown secrets.

Paradise was not only thrown in the unknown but now she has become a part of it. I couldn't imagine how she felt right now but one thing was for sure, she was not only carrying one royal baby but two, and no one in the castle knew about it but me.

If this was to reach the family I knew things would get much worse. The family was still in the unknown about my mate as well. I just knew I was dead when everything came out but at least I would have all the answers.

I shook my head as anticipation continued to boil in my blood. This was bound to be more than little ol me could handle.
