I took the fox home with me. My parents have been on a long trip leaving me alone. I treated the foxes wounds as well as I could. A lot of bandages, peroxide, pretty much anything I could use.
'2 weeks to prove something that's not true? Damnit... It's good as dead..'
I hunched over placing it on my bed. I backed up looking at it's weak body.
'It's really in bad shape.. I don't know what else to do. I guess I should let it rest. But... What if it dies? I mean.. I'm doing the best I can. I can't do anything else.. I'll just see what happens I guess.'
_____________
The second my heart recovered I crashed hard on the couch.
'This whole day has been so crazy. Why did I have to cross the boarder line? Am I that stupid? There's no way I can save that creature from the hunters... What am I going to do? Why did I lie saying it was a inhuman hybrid?'
I groaned placing my hands on my face.
"I'm such an idiot!" I yelled out loud knowing I fucked up.
I jumped hearing something fall upstairs. My heart began to race when I hear the little pitter patter of feet upstairs.
'It's awake. I guess I should check on it.'
I slowly get up making my way through the house without my shoes trying not to spook my guest. I was so light on my feet going up the stairs. I cautiously approached my door peeking.
I see the fox looking around breathing hard scared out of it's mind running back and forth still limping. I stepped in my room closing the door behind me.
It froze in place then looked at me breathing harder. I swear.... I could see tears in it's eyes.
'That's weird, animals don't cry.'
I took a step forward seeing it look around the room spastically. It ran under my bed hiding all way in the corner. I carefully got on my hands and knees peeking under the bed.
"Hey... It's okay... I'm not going to hurt you..." I reassured.
I could see it shaking in the dark.
I sighed.
'I mean... A fox and a cat... I don't know if I'll get attacked but it's worth a shot.'
I closed my eyes feeling myself changing by the second. I opened my eyes seeing I'm small. I looked under the bed seeing it in the dark.
I walked under the bed approaching the fox still looking around. The moment it saw me it curled in a ball hiding in it's tail.
I swear... It sounded like someone was crying... Once I was close enough I softly nudged it with my head attempting to comfort it.. Once I did this it looked up at me.
It tensed up looking me up and down.
"I'm not going to hurt you." I said again.
It's eyes widen while it's ears perked up. It's head slowly lifted, revealing it's small face behind the tail.
"Y-you.... You are a Neko?"
My eyes widen and mouth dropped.
"Y-your.... A... Hybrid?" I asked dumbfounded.
'Wait... The voice.. It's a....she?'
"W-wait your a fox hybrid I... Never seen one before.." I said stunned.
She looked away.
"I.... I'm one of my kind.. I've... Been on the run as long as I can remember."
"Can.. You... Show me your... True form?" I asked shyly feeling very curious.
She looked back at me.
"Considering you saved my life... Yes."
She sat up fluffing her tail behind her as she walked out from the below the bed.
I followed her transforming back to my original form. When I look over, I see her eyes begin to close as she transformed to her true form.
I felt my heart sink when she opened her eyes.
'Her eyes... Their... like mine...but she has one blue and one green.. is this destiny? Stories say being alone in this world is dangerous...and Lonely... People wonder how to know who's the one for you. It could be the same hybrid form... Or a same specific feature. My eyes are not common. For someone to have the same as mine... This isn't a coincidence... this was fate.'
Jess's POV
My eyes widen in surprise when I actually focused on his eyes... I noticed his face was really red as he gripped his chest over his heart. He looked so flustered.
'They aren't the same color but... I never met someone with different colored eyes like me. He has one blue and one yellow... I only heard about this... When you find that special someone being a hybrid you can't live without one... They protect you, love you, and share a life with you. They could be the same hybrid like a dog and a dog... But... There's also different hybrid bonding. A common way of telling is having a strong similar feature of that person.'
My lips separate looking deep in his eyes.
"Y-Your..... So.... S-Stunning." He stuttered out getting more red in the face.
I felt my face heat up.
"T-Thank you.. I..haven't transformed in years."
"W-whoa really?" He asked shocked.
"I.... Was afraid.. He would have...done things to me if they caught me like this.." I choked out thinking about those crocked hunters.
He tensed up looking at his feet shaking suddenly. He grit his teeth looking awfully angry.
"They won't ever lay a finger on you. I'll be sure of that!" He said through his teeth.
My eyes widen as I felt my face heat up even more.
He slowly looked up at me with the saddest eyes.
"Someone as beautiful as you shouldn't be treated like this.." He said placing his shaky hand in my hair brushing it away from my face.
I closed my eyes breathing out as I felt him slowly rub his hand on my ear so softly. My mouth gap open feeling my body melt by his touch.
"Your so beautiful, like an angel in disguise."
'Wait, what did he just say?!'
