MEANWHILE...

Ollie.

"Ollie, this should be easy peasy. All you have to worry about is getting the parts."

Hmph. Easy peasy. Yeah right.

"Do we have to get it from here though?" I ask hesitantly.

"Yes, Ol. Don't worry though, it isn't hard at all. Plus the control room is almost always empty."

"That's not what I'm worried about, and you know it Evie."

I opened the door to the control room, and I step onto the glossy floor that reflects the orange light of planet Red's sunset.

"I'm in." I respond to Evie.

"Alright, good job. So on the right of the front panel, there's a tiny screen in the shape of a square, you see it?"

"Uhhh." I look around the front the panel and spot the tiny screen. "Yeah, now what?"

"Alright so, leave the chip on the screen until you hear a beep and-"

The door's handle turns and footsteps get louder.

Shit.

I duck and run across the control room, sneaking into a server closet.

"Commander, you have an incoming call from secretary grey. Should I put it up on the holo screen?" A voice closest to the controls asks.

I peek out through a tiny opening in the door.

Standing near the controls, dressed in all red is what I assume to be the assistant to the commander. He's short and lean, with a holo pad tucked in his arms as he types into the main controls.

"Yes, pull it up."

Farthest from the control board, dressed in all white is obviously the commander.

If looks could kill, everyone she looked at would be dead on sight.

She take her place in the center of the room, in front of the holo screen.

*Click*

I can't see the screen from here but the room immediately goes still.

"Good evening, commander. Status report."

"The students have finished touring Planet Red, and we are heading out to Orange tonight, Sir."

"Good, what about the situation?"

"It is being handled Sir. For now we have alerted the officials on Blue, and kept it on the low."

"Is Blue aware of the capture on sight order?"

"Yes, sir."

Capture on sight?! Oh shit.

"Have the others made a move?"

"No, Sir. Not yet, at least."

The others? I have a very good feeling they're talking about Evie, Cass, and I.

"Alright, well the council has deemed finding 1202 the highest priority. If anything else occurs, notify me immediately. That is it."

"Yes, sir. Unders-"

*Click*

The assistant turns off the screen, and begins to input more info on the holo pad. The commander has her hands clenched by her sides, she sighs and mutters under her breath. She quickly spins and paces to the door, with her assistant following right behind.

"Send new orders to all officers on board. Double the shifts, and hold all incoming supply ships for now. I don't want anything to get on or off this ship."

"Yes, ma'am."

She turns again to face the assistant before exiting.

"Also, make sure to..." She squints in my direction.

"To keep an eye on those students. If they even leave their dorms I want to know about it."

"Understood, will do."

The commander turns back around and leaves the room, with the assistant closely following behind. Tapping away on his holo pad, the door firmly shuts behind him.

Phew. I really thought that was the end of the line for me.

"Evie, you there? You get any of that?"

I hear shuffling in the background on her end.

"I heard all of it. The drive uploaded, just grab the chip and get back to your dorm." She grimly states.

"Alright, I'll be there in a few." I reply.

"Oh and Ollie? Be careful. If they're watching us, we're gonna have to speed up the plan. Meeting in your room."

"Got it. I'm on my way there."

*Click.*

I move out from in between the servers, and grab the chip from the screen. Making my way out of the control room, and walk down the hallway.

I try to make myself as inconspicuous as possible. If anything is clearer, it's the fact that there isn't much room to be seen anymore. Not when everyone's life is on the line.

******

I scan my hand on my door and step inside.

"Finally, we were waiting all night."

I whip my head over to see Cass laying on the bed. He smirks, but his eyes are full of worry.

Evie walks out from the kitchen, and leans against the counter.

"You good?" She asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I don't know what's gonna happen now that the plan needs to get going. By the looks of it, no one else does either. "So, what's gonna happen now?"

"We're just going to have to leave a bit sooner." Evie sighs.

I sit down across from Cass on the bed, and I can't help but notice how close he is. He's mid bite into a sandwich when he catches me staring.

He smirks. "Hungry?"

My face goes hot. "Pfft. No."

"Alright then." He goes back to his sandwich.

As he puts the sandwich down, I notice some sauce on his cheek.

I don't why, but I just feel the need to touch him. So I reach to clear the sauce off.

"Uh, you've got a bit of-"

My face instantly goes even hotter as I notice his grin at how close we are now.

He stills and as I take my hand away he grabs it. Slowly brings it to his mouth, and licks the tiny bit of sauce off.

"I got it." He whispers.

At this point, I've completely just forgotten how to speak. "I- uh- you- mhm"

He chuckles a bit, and sits up on the bed. With his hand still holding onto my wrist, he brings face in closer.

I wonder how it would feel to kiss him right now. How it would feel to touch more than just his cheek. To run my hands through his hair, his chest, his back.

His eyes pinned on my mouth, I realize I could just bridge the gap in seconds. I would have his mouth on mine, and taste -

What am I saying?!

"I uh-" Finally regaining the ability to speak, I stutter.

And just like that, everything bounces back into focus.

He blinks and lets go of my wrist, backing up to put some space between us.

For a split second, it looked like there was a storm in his eyes, and then nothing. Almost as if he was trying to hold himself back.

The thought makes me tremble with excitement.

I can't believe this is happening right now.

He moves off the bed and grabs his plate to go wash it off in the sink.

Goddess knows I need some cold water in me right now.

"Ahem." Startled, I look over to Evie Leaning on the counter. I completely forgot she was there.

"So as I saying..." She continues with a small grin. "We're leaving tomorrow night, after I get my part done."

"Wait, what? That is way too soon."

"I know, but we don't have much of a choice. If the commander is going to be holding off all supply ships we won't be able to steal one. Which means, we won't be able to get out." She grimly states.

I sigh. "Alright."

"Good, I'll get everything done by tomorrow morning, for now you can rest. Goddess knows Cass wanted you to." She inputs mischievously.

What? Oh so he was worried about me? Mr. I'm so cool, and sexy, and funny, and cute and-

Okay, I seriously have a problem.

"Oh ho ho ho, so you were worried about me?" I ask with a full smile.

Cass turns and glances away.

"Alright, I'll see you guys later." Evie walks out, leaving Cass and I alone.

"So no answer huh. Alright then. I guess I'll just go to bed." I tease.

I take off my shirt and start to slip off my pants when I hear him choke on his water.

"Sss-top" He stifles out.

I walk over to him, and stand so close our noses brush up against each other.

"Make me." I dare.

I have no idea where all this adrenaline came from but I can feel my heart pounding.

He sets drink down on the counter.

Of course I worried about you O'." He replies, true concern flashing in his eyes.

Cass walks past me and opens the door. He looks back as he says "Trust me O' I won't have to make you do anything." That storm is back in his eyes.

The door closes and I'm all alone.
