There was silence for a few seconds but it wasn't the least bit awkward then I said, "You didn't answer me, Stacey."
She raised her left brow, "I don't recall you asking a question."
"It wasn't really a question, it was more like a request." It also felt like walking on eggshells whenever he spoke to her about delicate issues.
"A request? What is it?"
He closed his eyes for a brief moment, she really wasn't about to make this easy for him. "That you would not marry Clark and that you would give me a chance," I said, the words felt heavy as I spoke to them.
"Yeah, yeah I won't marry Clark but I am not so sure about giving you a chance."
"Please Stacey, if at all you won't do it for my sake at least do it for the baby's." I couldn't recall a time when I wanted something as badly as I wanted to be a part of this. Maybe all the time I was spending with the fat baby was beginning to affect me.
