Allen didn't show up for the rest of the day. It was time to close up shop so I did but not before rearranging what had been disrupted by a customer and tidying up the place. The door opened and for some reason, I thought it would be Allen and almost sighed when I saw it wasn't him.
"Clark! It is so good to see you." I said and rushed to his side. "How are you and how was work?"
"Good I guess," he was looking at me quizzically.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Nothing. You look alright."
"I feel fine," I replied.
"Good, I was just a little worried when I didn't hear from you so I decided to come to see you myself."
"You know you could have called."
"Back at you," he said almost immediately and I realized he must have been very worried.
"I am sorry, I should have. I was just quite distracted."
"Indeed," he said sarcastically and I raised my brow at him. "I take it we aren't getting married again right?"
