I sat patiently in the waiting room as I waited for my results. The doctor had said it shouldn't take long. I sank further into the seat, vaguely thinking that it was hurting my rear. There were a few people waiting with me but I wasn't fully aware of my surroundings as I waited, feeling a little anxious. I knew what the results held, I just wanted some confirmation.
"Stacey Williams?" The nurse announced as she walked into the waiting room.
"Yes," I answered and stood up.
"Your test results are ready, do come with me. Doctor Carter would very much like to talk to you."
I followed directly behind the nurse, I thought she was really tall. I wasn't on heels, but her heels weren't that high either but she was almost a foot taller than me. I knew I was trying to distract myself from what was coming but I didn't want to think about it until I had to.
"Miss Stacey Williams," Doctor Carter said to me as soon as I entered the office.
