Leonor stared at me as I was trying to cloak my hand in flames.
Despite not being able to get a proper explanation about how to do it. it came fairly natural to me since I was a fire demon.
Just like with breathing fire, I might have done it on accident at some point. The only thing I really struggled with was moving properly in that state. But I was quite certain that I would be able to learn it eventually.
Leonor leaned back against the wall after watching me practice for some time. "You know what. I am not even going to ask how you are doing that."
"Good. Because I also barely have an idea about how I am doing this."
She stood up and looked outside the cave. But swiftly stepped back when a shadow of a winged demon passed over.
"How long have we actually been here? don't you have somewhere else to go?"
"I am actually waiting for a group certain people to summon me. I don't think that continues travel between worlds would be verry healthy for a human, so we will stay here until they call me back."
"And then you will take me with you?"
"I mean it wouldn't be verry productive to go trough all this trouble to keep you alive only to leave you here."
She showed a warry smile. "Yea seems fair."
"Don't worry. I am sure that it won't take long now."
I stood up and stretched my wings and tail. Leonor had been awake for quite some time now and I did not want to leave her alone with the trees like that. She might end up hearing their whispers and cries what could lead to her deciding to join them.
I walked over to her and stood next to her while she looked out upon the grey landscape of people frozen in place until the end of times. If I listened closely, I could hear the roaring of demons in the distance. But I was sure that she could not hear them, she was completely oblivious to all the violence that was going on outside these woods.
"You know. I can't help but wonder why there are so many people here."
I raised my eyebrow. "Isn't it obvious? Other areas of hell are either freezing cold or constantly on fire. Also, there are not many demons here. It is only natural that people that are trapped in here will seek shelter in these woods. And without a demon to help them out of here, they can never leave. So, they just gave up and joined them."
I looked next to me when I started to hear a familiar humming accompanied by a lime green glow.
"But luckily for you. You don't have to be here long enough to try and join them."
Confused she looked at me. and I just stepped back so she could see the summoning circle that was starting to form.
"Is that?"
"Yes."
She gazed at it in awe. "it looks so different than what I imagined. Can't we stay here a little longer so that I can try to decipher the symbols."
I grinned. "this is the summoning circle used to summon me. I can give you the entire translation once we are out of here."
"That would take the fun away. But I would feel like it would be an insult to those who might not have a demon to explain his summoning circle."
I grabbed her remaining hand and dragged her into the circle with me. "Then how about this? You will try to decipher it on your own and I will correct all the mistakes you make."
Before she could answer we got sucked up by the circle. I tightly hold onto her. I was not even completely sure if humans could be dragged along with a summoning. But then again, they could be dragged down to hell so getting them out should be possible.
For my perception it felt like it took longer than usual, but that might be just because I was worried that something would go wrong.
When we entered my original world, I had to immediately close my eyes. They had decided that yet again it was a great idea to summon me outside in the open. Tough one could not see the actual sun in Atlantis, during the day, or what I assumed would be the day. Everything was lightened by the power source in the heart of the city. This would emit a light that made this place comparable to the surface.
Leonor's eyes would adapt much faster or she would simply be less affected by the light than me . this was because human eyes were not designed to see well in the dark. But for me who could see extremely well. Even in the darkness of the inferno. The jump rom dark to light was just too great and it could only be described as blinding.
"Could you please summon me in a dak room lightened by candles next time!"
"Wouldn't that make summoning a demon look shady? If we don't do it out in the open people might start to think that I am running a cult." The dwarf replied.
I finally managed to fully open my eyes. There I saw that only the dwarf, Beatrice and Noah were here.
Noah was holing Beatrice's shoulder in order to prevent her from getting lose enough to the dwarf to kick him. She was pretty pissed off about the fact that the area in which I was summoned caused me slight discomfort.
The dwarf noticed this too, but he just ignored it.
"So anyway, who is it that you brought with you?"
Leonor stepped forward. "My name is Leonor. I had personally requested Rubedo to take me with him. May I ask what your relationships are with him?" She was obviously confused about why they were taking summoning me so casually.
Noah was the first to reply, "We owe him our life. we would follow his every command without question and die without hesitation if it meant that we could be of use to him."
The dwarf just had a proud smug on his face. "He came to me for help. In the end I couldn't help him and now I just bully him from time to time."
I could see how she was left just as confused as she when asked the question. And I was fairly sure that it would probably take some time before she even understood one part of the situation.
