After trying to heal his wound he was left with some immense scars and joints that he could no longer use. I was slowly starting to grow frustrated over my failed attempts.
So, I stopped for a while in order to gather my thoughts and think about what I might be doing wrong. Of course, the main issue was that I did not really know what I was doing. And despite the shortcut that it would offer, I decided not to ask Elisa.
Tough she was fine in the group; I could tell that she was still a little scared when she was alone with me. especially when I asked her for things that could possibly enhance my magic. She had already helped me with so much, I did not want to put that extra pressure on her.
And there was also the chance that I just couldn't heal people. maybe somewhere in the future if I practised long enough, but it most certainly was not my specialty.
I sat in the corner of the room and flung my tail from side to side while I was deep in thought over a possible solution when I heard the voice of the man that I had imprisoned.
It turned out that his name was Ruben. But I could not care less what it was, as he was merely an object for my practice.
"Why are you still here demon?" he spoke with a dry rusty voice as if he were already dead.
"What do you mean?"
The man closed his eyes. "Don't you have to let your friends on the outside in? our scouts have been keeping track of the horde for months. They are almost at our gates. So shouldn't you lead them here and let them in?"
I stood up and walked past the still imprisoned man. "No. if it came to me, I would much rather keep this place for myself. There are humans here who belong to me, and I would even try to stop that horde on my own if it could possibly endanger them."
The man laughed. It was a dry cackling laughter. "Good luck then. There is a lot of them."
When I almost eft the room I turned to Ruben one last time. "How long do you think it will take them to get in without help?"
"Days, weeks, months. I don't know."
I slightly loosened the stone that imprisoned him, so he could breathe more easily.
"Thank you for your cooperation. I will send someone to watch over you until I am back."
I immediately flew to where I sensed Moenen. I had no idea what he was doing but it did not really matter.
I ordered Moenen to not let Ruben escape, but to also keep him alive no matter what. Furthermore, he was allowed to do whatever he wanted with the man. After he agreed upon doing so, I flew back to where the dwarf was.
He smiled as soon as I walked back into the room. It pleased me to see that he was doing better than before he was even assembling some wires around a strange blue orb. of course, my father was already back in Atlantis. "Are you doing better now?"
I nodded before I sat down in front of him. "I am doing better now. but there is still something on my mind."
The dwarf placed his work down. "What is it?"
"Tough I could do nothing back in my rampage, I was still conscious, and I can remember everything that happened back then. You told my father that at the moment I am a demon between the mid and the high ranks?"
"Yes. So what?"
"Well, I assume that when the horde attacks there will be demons among them that are a lot higher in ranks than me."
"I hope that you are not saying that you want to join the fight. People will not know that you are on their side and kill you. And if the other demons find out that you are fighting against them, they will also kill you. It is basically suicide."
I shook my head. "That is not what I am saying. I am only planning to fight when any of you are in direct harm. What I am saying is that if the people win, they will actively search for any demons that are left behind. And if the demons win, they will probably fight me for territory or food as they have already achieved their common goal."
The dwarf sighed and leaned back after which he shivered due to the pain coming from his rib. "Okay kid. Then what do you want other than to tell me that you are in deep shit if the demons attack?"
"Is there a way in which you can summon me even if I am in another world?"
"Well, yes. But why?"
I hesitated for a moment since I was not sure what the dwarf would think of my plan. "I… want you to send me back to hell. There I can try to kill as many demons as possible to raise my strength. Then you can summon me back in a few months or when the demons attack. since there is a chance that someone else will summon me within that time, I need you to be able to call me back at any time."
"And I assume that you will still stay here for a few days to notify the others of your plan?"
I nodded.
"Fine then. But only if you help me with this crap first."
He pointed towards the wires that he was assembling around the blue orb.
"Can you spit some flames onto that? I don't want you to touch it tough. Just heat it a little so it's easier for me to adjust the wires."
I did das he asked, and he put on some thick leather gloves so that he would not burn his hands. After that I continued to help him until he decided that his work was finished, and he went to bed.
