Chapter 114 - CHAPTER 113: visitors.

The dwarf left early in the morning. He, himself stated that he wanted to leave at this time because then he wouldn't be hindered as much by other people.

Once he was done checking if he had not forgotten to pack certain things he left.

Having not much else to do, I climbed back in the tower to watch as he made his way to the capital of Atlantis that was always slightly glowing in a pure blue light.

After he was out of sight I flew down to the room where I had built the stone chair. It amused me to see that from a certain angle it truly resembled a throne. But this were just slabs of rocks stapled on top of each other so it was just that, a resemblance.

I sat down and tried to spread out my consciousness as far as possible.

If I managed to let it go further than my senses could reach, then it might be useful when I am supposed to be hidden, like right now.

After this I would try to practice magic. Tough I had a hard time learning a new type on my own I found that I had significantly improved in my fire control.

( "Since water is the opposite of fire, the element that I am most connected to now. It probably takes me way longer to learn that. Therefore, I should focus on learning air an earth in order to improve my options in combat as much as possible. ")

Right now, there was too much going on to merely be a coincidence. The demons invading worlds, the being of shadows and smoke in the other realm, and that little boy that knew just too much. And to add onto it, he mentioned the day of the trumpets. And said that he hoped that I wasn't anywhere near here when that happened.

I have no idea when all the strings will tie together, but I must try to be as prepared as I possibly could.

("Maybe I should ask Elisa if she knows other types of magic than just the elemental ones. After all she taught me how to create illusions.")

Just as I was starting to practice magic, I noticed a group of people approaching this place. it surprised me that it took them so long until they finally decided that two children who were scared and could not go home would look for a place that resembled it as much as possible.

I was a bit irritated that they came to disturb me in my practice, but they had to come eventually.

I decided that it was probably not a good idea to fly back to the tower at this point. So, I hid myself in the corner of one of the rooms and prepared myself to use illusions in case they came to close.

After some time passed, I could hear their soft footsteps through the countless empty hallways. None of them spoke. Which did not come to a surprise.

The last two men who had been sent to this place did not come back. tough in a place with thousands of people to missing men could easily go unnoticed, there were still rumours that there was something out there. And with me being here, those rumours were true.

The footsteps grew louder as the group of people drew closer. And eventually they entered the room where I was at.

The group of people who wandered through this place consisted of two men and two women. The two man both wore the same outfit. They were clothed in some sort of dark leather armour that covered nearly their entire body. The only difference that I could find was that one was covered in burn marks and was barely recognisable as a human. but something about him just seemed so strangely familiar. Maybe his scent? Maybe the way he moved? As if I had met him somewhere before.

Tough the armour looked light and almost defenceless; I could tell that it was drenched in magic.

The two women could not be wearing more different clothing. One was wearing a high class, purple mage robe and carried a crooked staff with a green stone engraved in the top. The other was chained and wore nothing more but rags and was even blindfolded.

The later was clearly struggling, trying everything in her power to escape.

I tough that this was weird. Weren't they supposed to only be searching for the kids? Why did they bring her here?

"Is this really necessary? If these kids truly summoned a demon, then I don't think that it is a good idea to lure it out. "

The man with the burn marks spoke while nervously looking around .

"shut up you idiot! It might not work if it knows what we are trying to do."

The woman in the mage robe replied in a firm voice.

"I am just saying that we can't just kill someone just for the change that there might be a demon out here. and what are we going to do if it really does come out?"

"This living piece of trash here was destined to be executed anyway. Se is doing the last thing she can to redeem herself by giving up her life in order to prevent a catastrophe. She should be honoured that she can serve Atlantis in this way. And it is not like we are at your shitty little village right now. if there is a demon here, we can dispose of it."

"But this is a person, an actual person. You can't just …"

"Quit wining you moron. You are just saying this, so you don't have to encounter another demon. I get it, you were traumatised. But you signed up for this, so you are going to do this until the very end."

She kicked the other woman, so she lied down on the ground and then drew a magic circle around her.

Without hesitation the man who had yet to speak stepped in and sliced the back of the woman in the circle open.
