The group approached with their usual hyper attitude.
When eventually I decided that they were close enough I stood up from my chair and walked out of the room.
The dwarf looked up at me for a moment and then continued to work as if it had to be finished tomorrow.
Just as I had done before I climbed on one of the roofs of the ruins.
As usual there was no wind. I had yet to witness a day were there was wind in this land under the ocean. But despite the fact that there was no wind, there was still rain.
I believed that the rain was caused by the power source somewhere in Atlantis that was surrounded by the large statues.
Allenya happily waved when she saw me sitting there.
I jumped off the building and slowly glided towards them. I even landed a few meters away to make sure that they wouldn't be covered in a layer of dirt and dust.
When I approached, I saw how Elisa was standing close to the elf. Nathan was not even wearing his mask. From this I speculated that he trusted these people. Or at least he felt comfortable enough around them to share his true identity.
I frowned when I saw how he and Elisa were holding hands. ("Great, they really are in a relationship.")
the elf became a little uncomfortable when I came close. He knew that I did not like him and now I was even twice his hight.
"Hello Gustave… or Rubedo. It has been a long time since we saw each other, wasn't it?"
He was a little hesitant. He surely had not forgotten how he had tried to leave me behind before we reached the stone city.
"Call me Gustave."
I decided that I could at least give him a second chance.
Nathan nervously scratched his neck. "I- I'm sorry for what I did back then. I really did not know if you could be trusted. But since you have such amazing people around you that truly believe in you… I guess that you at least deserve my apology."
I was a bit surprised by his words. But maybe the others had been talking in om him.
"Thank you."
I glanced at Elisa who seemed happy and relieved that I was not angry at him. She was still holding his hand, but she did not seem as anxious as she was when I used to travel with her. Tough she was still quiet.
I saw this as a good thing she could have been way more traumatised with what happened to Yohan than she was now. this was most likely the result of the support from her friends and boyfriend.
"I assume that you are treating her right?"
The elf turned his head to Elisa with a soft smile when he heard my question.
"Of course. You would probably go after my soul if I did not."
Allenya giggled as Nathan spoke. "Yea. I'm sure he would."
"Aww come on. I am not that bad, am I?"
"I did not say that you are bad. I just said that you would probably do such a thing."
She leaned forward as if she tried to look down on me with a mischievous smug on her face.
It made me laugh. Because, with our differences in hight she just ended up looking rather silly.
"Shouldn't we go to the ruins so that you won't get noticed?" Elisa suddenly spoke.
"Sure. The only thing that we have to keep in mind is that we must be quiet when we are near the large building on the left. The dwarf is suddenly really determined to fix certain issues with the security. And I am afraid that he will start throwing things at us if he gets to annoyed."
The elf looked at me in a rather weird way. "This is the first time that I heard of a demon being afraid of the wrath of some mortal man."
"Believe me. if you knew how hard those crystals are you would be to."
After this we hurried towards the ruins.
There is Alex nearly stepped on my tail twice so at this point I was almost certain that he was doing that on purpose.
Therefore, I climbed up one of the roofs so that he would not have the chance to do so again.
With no longer having the option of bullying me, Alex begun to try to balance his sword on his finger.
This truly worried Elisa, wile Allenya just thought that the whole scene was the funniest thing in the world. And with that the poor elf was left to wonder what was going on.
Eventually the time came for them to leave.
Now that I was alone again, I decided that despite not really being tired, I would try to go to sleep.
