("Why is it so dark? Did I die?")
Those were the thoughts that run through my mind as I found myself in a state between awake and asleep.
I couldn't feel, see, hear or smell my surroundings nor myself. Time worked different here, if there was even time at all. But even if there was, I had no way to perceive it given that I was surrounded by absolute nothingness.
Then there was a Licht. The light was broken as if it was shining through water. even when it had no particular colour or form, it felt familiar.
Now that the light was shining on my face, I could also hear a harmonious female voice. She was not singing or anything. she was just repeating the same sentence in a weird tune.
I tried to move towards the voice and the light, since those were the only things that existed here now. But it was so hard to move! It was like I was being held down by strings witch I had to snap to move.
Eventually I came close to the light.
("wat should I do now? Should I just pass through?")
It was the only reasonable action. There wasn't something else I could do anyway. So, I tried to push my hand through it, which was a hard thing to do since I still couldn't see anything bit the light. But I noticed soon enough that I succeeded. I could feel the sun shining on my hand a warm breeze was flowing in between my fingers.
Motivated by the touch of reality after being in nothingness for so long, I put the rest of my arm through the gate of broken light.
I could feel the mussels in that arm work! It was amazing to finally feel something. Then I moved my arm around for a bit and felt the ground! I could feel dirt and grass, even some small stones.
("It should be easier to pull myself out than to push through, right? I mean I can move that arm better than the rest of my body by now.")
So, I tried exactly that.it was quite hart to do, but after a minute or so, I finally made it out!
I quickly tried to stand to look around. But I was still blinded by having spent so much time in darkness, so it took some time to adjust to the sudden rays of sunlight around me.
But when I could see, I was more than confused. Judging from the plants around me it was autumn, and the last time I was awake it was winter. Sure, it didn't snow at the time, but it was winter.
Also, I did not recognize this place. there were giant rocks and pieces of a building lying around everywhere in a rather gaotic matter. Most of the ruins of the building were overgrown by various types of moss.
Even during the time that I tried to comprehend what was going on, the chanting did not stop. I looked behind me, to where the sound came from. It was a young woman who was chanting in some sort of ancient language. She was between the age of seventeen and twenty. She had dark brown hair that fell on her shoulders. Her eyes were as green as an enchanted forest in spring, sparkling like a pound in which the moon shows its mighty reflection.
Even though she was the only one who was 'speaking' she wasn't the only one there. Next to her stood two man. The first one was a lot taller than her. His hair was as black as an starless night, he had a small beard and eyes so dark that it was impossible to see their colour. His expression was as dark as his eyes. He held a giant dark sword, and judging from the state of it, it was used a lot more than it should be used.
The second looked like he was about twenty years old. He had hair that was almost golden, and his eyes were as blue as the sky. He had a serious expression on his face, like he was ready to kill someone. He held a smaller sword that was in a lot better state than the former one.
And finally, there was a woman with hair as white as snow and light brown eyes and a dark brown skin. That combination of colours made her look exotic. Her gaze seemed to look into my very soul, burning with an inextinguishable fire but she looked beautiful non the less. She held two white sabers, both in excellent shape for as far I could tell.
They stood there ready for battle wile the women with the green eyes kept chanting.
("What the? What is going on?" )
I tried to move but for some reason I couldn't. I was stuck in this place.
I looked down and was hit by shock. I saw a white circle drawn on the ground with some material I was unfamiliar with. But this was not wat shocked me so much. The thing that shocked me so much was myself.
("What in the world? What is this? How!?" )
This was not my body. My skin was as red as fire, scales covered a part of my shoulders, legs, back and the lower part of my arms. Also, the mark of that creature was still imprinted on my chest. But this wasn't the worst part. The worst part was the fact that I had a tail.
The moment I realised this my entire world crumbled to pieces.
I had lost my parents, my home, my sister and now my humanity.
("Why? What had I done to deserve this?')
I barely noticed that the man with the golden hair approached me.
He spoke the following words.
"listen here demon. Let's make a deal."
