Wind hurtled branches into each other as they approached, eyes glued to a pair of ancient binoculars. From the distance in green light was a alien spacecraft.
They had rolled through the questions for days before - would there be guards? Would they be expecting it? But all of those questions were guaranteed to lead to no. They were too unsuspecting despite the paranoia they seemed to exhibit.
And besides, who would be up at this hour in the morning? How would they get their hands on technology without them knowing?
They walked through the crash site, stepping over and through tree limbs. Scraped of all bark and now wet from the water they would prove to be slippery as they scaled the side of the craft in practiced maneuvers. A tarp covered the top, which they peeled off and slipped under.
The interior was all dark, so dark that despite their goggles they needed to turn on the flashlight attached to their belt. The light illuminated the interior of the vessel, shining into the walls which were dark grey except for the pitch black of what looked to be veins similar to a board used to code.
They continued to squeeze through the door. There was a slight hallway before they burst into the main area where five chairs were lurking before what appeared to be a board of buttons similar to an airplane.
But those weren't their goal. They dropped to their knees in front of one of the chairs and click-click-click. They were now in the box. From now, there was no turning back. They would be aware and more suspicious then ever, but they were outside of the realm of possibility for infiltrators.
They don't truly know me, the thief thought as they left the spaceship with a small box under their coat.
