She was the only child her parents were able to have. Kujo's family was the only other hybrid family in the kingdom. These two grew up together and seemed to be joined at the hip. At home she had an easy life, but outside of that it was difficult. Bullied by "friends" at school (physically and mentally) which was ignored by teachers and other admin. Kujo stayed beside her everyday, but there were times they were separated. When they were, she was physically abused by the other students and even a few teachers. Kujo's parents, as well as her own parents taught her and Kujo self-defense when they were six years old. After a year they knew enough to spar on their own and often did after school. She was pulled out of school the year Kujo and his family disappeared. They were ten years old at the time.

About five years later her parents were taken while Indigo was in the marketplace. She had found their blood on the front steps, but no sign of them or anyone else. Despite her speed, strength, stealth, and other senses, she was unable to find any trace of where they had gone. From that point on, she lived on her own working odd jobs and harvesting what she could from her family garden in order to feed herself.

Background:

Oldest of three children. Andrew James (AJ) was the second oldest and Saralynn was the youngest. They lived next to Indigo all throughout school. Kujo started to fall in love with her at five years old. Indigo and Kujo spent everyday together. At school, he stayed by her side in order to protect her from those claiming to be her friend. Whenever he was unable to stay by her side she was hurt and he struggled to come to terms. His parents saw this and worked with Indigo's parents to teach him and Indigo how to protect themselves at six years old. They had lessons everyday after school and, after a year, sparred together under supervision. Four years passed. A few days after Indigo's tenth birthday, soldiers took him and AJ in their sleep. They woke up in a stone room. It was midday, though it felt as though it were night. The King and Queen split them up: Kujo as the King's servant, AJ as the stable boy. They were flogged if they slipped or spoke at the wrong time, used their magic, spoke about home with each other, spoke about what they had heard. Eventually they were silenced. Kujo learned how to better observe each situation before acting.

Five years passed (Kujo: 15, AJ: 13) and AJ came down with a fever. Kujo wasn't allowed to visit and was told it would pass. But… if AJ wasn't healthy in a week he'd be killed. He was executed a week from then. He continued on as the King's servant. He was given the food and medicine needed to be healthy, but only when he did as asked. Two years after AJ's death the King interrogated Kujo. Kujo denied there being any others like him despite seeing Indigo at the market multiple times. He never said a word to her.

Fears: Indigo dying, rejection, the others being found by any of the Kings

Likes: Indigo, sunrises, the color green, petrichor (smell of rain)

Dislikes: The King, people who have brought danger to his family and friends, feeling powerless/useless

She doesn't like her father due to his policies and prejudices regarding the Hybrid species. Alexandria first saw the Hybrid species when she went to the market with her mom. She was five years old when she saw them. There was a little girl with kitty ears and a tail. Two others stood beside her. They were much taller than her and Alexandria had thought they looked pretty. Someone came up behind the little girl and yanked on her tail. She screamed in pain and started to cry. The man that looked like her bent down and picked her up. Mother stepped in and talked with the person that pulled the sobbing girl's tail. When she finished she turned to the family and apologized. The Queen and Alexandria left after that.

The Queen taught young Alexandria that the Hybrid people were still a part of their people and they should be protected. The King disagreed and ignored related disputes whenever he visited the people. This is when Alexandria began to hate the way her father ran the kingdom. She was determined to become Queen and make life better for all her people.
