Jerome was somewhat jealous seeing what Katherine and Henry could do. Jerome devotes himself in training to improve his skills and ability, he develops through battles and hardship, but seeing these two reach this control of their ability makes him question his resolve.
Philip noticed this when he looked at Jerome he sighed and talked to Jerome.
