Initially when I started editing and publishing The Misanthropist's Guide to Philanthropy to Webnovel/Wattpad I was incredibly gung-ho about the project. I really wanted to, as I said in the preface, do something supplemental.
I was thinking of doing a Youtube channel (which I actually did make, but didn't follow through on) but man…recording and editing videos, especially for a newbie like myself, is incredibly time intensive. I recorded a few vids worth of material, but kept running into audio-video desync issues. Ultimately the project was a bust. I work full time and can't put in that much effort on something that is more frustrating than fun.
But! Here we are, now. I've decided to launch a discord server. I'm kind of an old fart when it comes to social media, but I do use discord to play games with some of my mates – so I'm at least somewhat familiar. It's going to be a bit of an experimental project, I'll admit. May totally suck. But if anyone's willing to roll the dice, you're welcome to join me.
Basically it's going to be a loosely structured "shoot the shit with the author" server. I don't plan on running it like a business or anything, nor can I guarantee how vested I will be in this down the road, so just come on by and say "hi" if you're interested.
