Chapter 11 - 4.1: Clown head morning

8 o clock morning in the Titto shopping district. The shops start to open one by one at this hour. Women are the most visible workers of morning shift. Men stays home at this time. Drinking in night and starting the day late has become the culture of this place. Even the sobers dose household chores at home.

Ria was coming to the shop early singing her favourite song 'Despasito'. She is always early for wark, a workaholick and usually in a hurry to complete everything as soon as she can but she loves the song anyway. Being a busy person and loving a song that tells to be slow is the opposite of mundane- like opposite attracts!

She was walking calmly but suddenly a group of dog barked loudely looking at her. A busy and arrogent women like her would never be afraid with that but she saw something else- something more than horrible. A body like a clown lying flat looking at the sky with two large open eyes! The moment she noticed it lying in the middle of the road, she screamed loudely. Her sky shattering shout only bumped into the tall walls of highrise and vanished slowly- nobody came. Only a bunch of hungry crows flew together leaving their bloody footprint on the site. Can anyone actually do things leaving no trace? Ria controls herself and walks to the nearest telephone booth. She dialled 100 with a trembling hand.

Officer Simon- the smart stout young police man rushed to the place. One of his uniform buttons was misplaced creating a gap between his chest area which he did not notice. Even he forgot to tuck in the shirt and comb his hair. His blue eyes, blue shirt and those six packs would grabbed anyones' attention but not today. He was about an hour late and he looked devastated. This is the second crime happening in the same place within a month under his watch. He's gonna be a dead meat!

Simon put on his gloves and moved all the people aside and hang on the yellow caution ribbon to make a boundary around the crime seen. Who knew so many women are keen to watch a faceless naked woman! The first thing Simon noticed was the big round boobs. "Who could hurt them so hard, or who would not want to"- he thinks. Then he looked at her face. It was fully covered with white plaster and somebody drew a joker face on it. Some objects were scattered around her. First Simon took some photographs and marks the places with chalk. He saw a mirror upward. Do people look at themselves while dying? Does their last emotion stays on their dead face for eternity. Can a dead body represent its life on earth like a mirror does even after it shatters into pieces!
