Almost for an hour they talked, when Carlo arrived she left the two of them to talked . When she secretly looked back she saw Lori was crying and slap Carlo on his face , her instinct wanted to go back but decided to do the opposite. She decided to go upstairs and better wait for her husband..It is their affair they need to settle without her intervention.As much as she wants to remain calm, her heart pounds so hard. She felt so nervous thinking about the outcome of their conversation. She never thought that Lori is very beautiful and sophisticated..Another hour pass by,when finally Carlo come up he had been in a hurry to pack his things.
" Honey, i will go to baguio, i will attend a seminar workshop for about two weeks", Carlo said while she's watching him packing his things in a traveling bag.
" You hadn't mention about that", she said.,but in her mind a different suspicion is arising. She felt a pain that cannot be fathom
right that moment.
" We had a meeting this morning, they send me for this workshop right now", he explain.
" You can stay with mom and dad if you want while i'm gone", he said
" Okay", all she said when he kissed her cheek then leave. Couldn't wait to send me home? she thought. She could not stop herself from crying, they had been married for more than a month only, then now they' re on the verge of separation. After freshen up she decided to pack her things all of her things..
" Honey, what happened?", her mom's surprised outburst when she see her unloading her things from the cab.
" Carlo will be gone for two weeks mom, he is in baguio for a seminar workshop", the same alibi Carlo gave.
" Okay, don 't worry i am happy to have you here in the house", her mom replied.
After lunch she decided to go and rest in her tree house, she's in deep thought and frustrated about what happened ,she is trying to analyze if her decision to marry Carlo is the best decision but why is it she felt hurt, jealousy was giving her a heartache.,when she notice that there are many mango fruit nearly ripen she decided to climb the tree., maybe because her thoughts travel with Carlo, she suddenly lost her footing maybe because she think too much of what happened earlier she did not notice the branch she step into cracked she lost her balanced and fall down. While in mid air she had seen people in white having a meeting the one who's infront is the one talking. as if the leader, everybody look in her direction.
" I'm dead" , she exclaimed. But the leader of the group shun her away,as if telling her to go away..
" Yes!i will live!", she thought happily.
She dreamt of a woman whom everytime she open her mouth a fire came out that almost burn her then, she moved to avoid burning.
" Honey, i'm glad you are finally awake" her mom exclaim while tears in her eyes.
" What happened ma?", she ask holding her aching head.
" Don't touch that", her mom gently shove her hand when she tried to touch the bandaged part of her head.
" The doctor put a bandaged in your head to protect it, we are glad your skull don't cracked when you faĺl down the tree", her mom explained.
" Really?", she cannot beleive what she heard.
" Honey, don 't ever climb a tree again", her mom told her.
" But ma," she oppose.
" No buts, or else we will going to cut all the trees that surround the house." her mom is very upset.
" But ma, it was just an accident", she said.
" An accident that put you in a coma for a month", her mom said.
" As long as that?", she thought it was just yesterday that she fell in the tree. She spends the next few weeks for her therapy.Maybe because of the long confinement in the hospital her limbs or shall we say whole body in general were aching and her movement is so unsteady. She spends another one weeks in the hospital and for that period she never asked about her husband. She's afraid of what
her parents suppose to be answers.
Her friends had visited her in the hospital
and when she's home, they came to visit her and thay have a company, familiar face of Bryan.As always he is good looking and look so worried about her. According to her friends he insisted to come and they never tell Bryan that she married their Professor that is a bad record for Carlo in case their classmates will know..
" It is up to you if you will tell him the truth",Leticia and Karen urge her.
But she decided not to tell Bryan, what for? infact since the day she wake up until they were out from the hospital her husband never visited her. Everybody left her and Bryan to talk on their own. She was surprise when Bryan hold her hand and bring it to his lips.
" I am so worried when I heard what happened to you", Bryan said while still holding her hand. They were in that position,when the door opened and Carlo entered the room. She suddenly took her hands from Bryan, Carlo's eyes sharpen and seems in a war mood. His reaction puzzle her but she is happy he is back. She thought he will never come back and he had chosen to elope with Lori because he realized that he loved her more than his wife.. He kissed her on the cheeks and asked her how she felt after checking her temperature.
" I am okay, when did you arrive?", she asked.
" Just right now?",he answered. Bryan's expression is unbeleivable.
" What's going on, how did you know that she is sick prof?", Bryan asked.
" Marien is my wife!", Carlo proudly declared. Marien laughed at a changed in Bryan's expression .
" A what?!!Is that why you never give me a chance to court you?", Bryan ask Marien. Both Carlo and Marien are surprised at Bryan's question.
" Of course not, I am just too scared to have a relationship with you because you are too goodlooking for me", Marien explained.
" What do you mean by that, I am not goodlooking? that' s why you had chosen me instead?", Carlo 's outburst, hurt at what he heard.
