Chapter 118 - The demon (part 4)

Elizabet quickly went through the house taking what she would need. She took woman's clothes, the money, jewels, and any other odds and ends that she might need for her journey on. Slowly as she searched for the items she wanted her remorse began to fizzle away into nothing. She accepted what she was, a demon, a succubus.

She left the house before the sun arose in the sky. She carried a large bag in each hand. Elizabet made sure to leave well before the little humans got up and toiled away at their jobs.

Elizabet wandered several towns over and each town she left disaster in her wake. A trail of blood followed her wherever she went. She made sure to leave well before any of the humans became any the wiser, that it was her that was the demon that had descended upon their town.

While the humans were unable to become wise to her movements, there was somebody that was watching her. He quickly began to track and follow her blood trail. He was definitely not human and therefore, she wasn't even aware of his presence.

Nearly 3 years after she had been attacked and she began her path of destruction that began her path toward the darkness Elizabet found herself sitting in a tavern.

Elizabet sat near the fireplace, the flames dancing around the room. She sipped her ale and was currently being courted by three human males. They foolishly provided her all the ale and food she could want. To herself she thought that they would provide so much more and with that idea brought a smile to her face.

The door opened and a burst of cold winter air entered the warm tavern. Elizabet took no notice of the new figure, she was busy enough, her hands full by what would become her true evening meal.

The hooded figure took a moment as the door closed searching the tavern before his eyes fell on the beauty in the corner by the fireplace. A wicked smile crossed his face not that anyone could actually see it. With long strides he moved across the tavern and he sat across from the demon he sought out. Quickly the humans scattered from the table leaving just him and the succubus.

Elizabet looked up from her ale and furrowed her brows as her eyes watched the men leave. Her eyes then moved back to the figure siting opposite of her. She reached out her hands to hold them and a shock went through her. She quickly let go, her eyes searching for an answer, but nothing was apparent, nothing seemed to make sense.

Using her charms she began to speak, but was immediately interrupted.

"Your charms will not work on me."

Elizabet staired at the man, ready to make a run for it. She grabbed the knife that she had been suing to cut her steak, preparing herself if necessary.

"I'm not sure what you mean" Elizabet offered, unsure of what to do and what the man was referring to. However, as she became more aware of his presence, she realized that he didn't smell human. He wasn't a typical human male. He was something else. "Who are you?"

Even though his face was primarily covered by shadow she could make out the sly smile that was on his face. It was unnevering.

"Does it matter?"

Elizabet squinted her eyes and tilted her head, "yes? Of course it does."

"Even if I told you that I want to subjugate the human's as they are inferior to our kind."

The way he said 'our kind' she made an educated guess that he was a demon as well. Elizabet knew that the being in front of her was definitely not a succubus (they were only women) and most certainly not an incubus (her male counterpart). She hummed debating on how she would answer. "While that sounds like a lovely idea. I don't get into bed with people I do not know."

The man across from her began to chuckle and then it became full on laughter, "really, I thought that was your entire persona, getting into bed with various men and taking their life force?"

Elizabet too began to laugh genuinely, "I suppose you have a point. But I still prefer to know who I am dealing with. What are you?"

"I am similar to you. I take the life force from people...just not by sex."

Elizabet shook her head and held her hand out, "my name is Elizabet."

"Call me Atchen."

Elizabet nodded, her eyes still staring intently at the creature as they hadn't left him since he sat across from her.

"I have been following your blood trail for quite some time, I feel you and I are destined. You and I are the same."

"Really?"

"Yes, I know you have the same darkness within you as I have within me. Join me and we will rule this world."

Elizabet leaned in and pulled back his hood. Her eyes studied his face for a brief moment before her lips landed on his. She moved back his hair putting her hands around his neck pulling him closer into her kiss. She could feel him responding to her. But the way Atchen was responding was far different from a dumb male.

She stopped the kiss and leaned away. She shrugged her shoulders, "sure, why not. It sounds like it could be fun."
