WAIT!? Erin couldn't have heard them correctly, could she?
Kidnap? Kidnap? Kidnap?
The words ringing through Erin's head and what did they mean by they weren't exactly the good guys...
Liz really didn't intend to kidnap and use her, right? What did that even mean? Erin's breathing began to get faster and her heart beat rapidly against her chest. She began to feel overheated and every cell in her body was in fight or flight mode.
But Erin seemed to be choosing the third option of fight or flight...or freeze. Erin was frozen in place. Her mind moving a million miles a minute as well as nothing happening at all. Erin could feel the blood drain from her face.
Just Breathe...
Erin tried to convince her lungs to breathe. She definitely couldn't fight or run away if she passed out from lack of oxygen to her brain.
Erin's eyes moved from Liz to Hattie and back again to Liz. When Erin heard another car coming down the dirt drive of the Octagon House her heart sank. It was now or never. But Erin didn't move. She couldn't for one thing her body wouldn't listen to her and two, Liz and Hattie were stationed in front of her door. She couldn't flee yet. Erin would have to look and wait for an opening.
Erin looked down the drive following the line of sight of the two women.
The car coming down the dirt drive was a deep blue Jeep Wrangler with the top and doors removed. The Jeep pulled up on the passenger side of Erin's little WV Beetle and she couldn't help but feel more blocked in. She was trapped.
Erin noticed a beautiful woman get out of the vehicle and she was absolutely stunning! She had beautiful blue eyes that reminded her of the Great Lakes..Deep and Blue. The woman had her blonde hair thrown back in a ponytail.
"Myrtle?!" Hattie called out and walked closer to the woman. The threw her hands around her shoulders and squeezed her tight. "Its been too long!"
Myrtle smiled and waved over at Liz who still stood in front of Erin. Liz turned her head to glance briefly at Erin before moving towards Myrtle and Hattie.
Erin didn't bother to note too much of their interaction. This was the time that she had to get away, this was the time to flee. Erin Moved slowly and deliberately. She removed her keys from the ignition. she glanced up to see if they noticed her, it appeared that they hadn't so she then removed her keychains from her car key before putting the key in her pocket.
She then grabbed her cash, driver's license, and cellphone from her purse. She put her phone on silent just as a precaution. She then glanced over and her heart nearly skipped a beat when they weren't where they had been. But then breathed a little lighter when she heard their voices near what used to be the entrance of the Octagon House.
When she heard the woman 'Myrtle' speak, she had alluring voice that seemed to dance and sing in the air. Erin shook her head. She had to focus! She had to escape. Because she didn't think anything good would come if she stayed.
With their backs to her, Erin slowly opened the car door. A quick glance over their way told her that they hadn't heard her. Erin thanked her lucky stars. She left her car door open and keeping herself low in order to remain hidden by the cars she made her way towards the tree line where she could use the trees to maintain cover. When she made it to the shade of the trees she didn't check to see if they had discovered her disappearing act. Erin just knew she had to get as far away from them as humanly possible. Finding a police station would be a good idea.
Erin made quick work to get as far way from the house as possible. She watched her ground to make sure she didn't step on anything that would crunch beneath her weight and thereby giving her location away. Her blood pumped, her heart raced. She was running on the adrenaline from the flight/fight response. She had to take advantage of it while it lasted.

Henry, also known as the beast, stood outside of the room peering in from the door frame. The boy, Matthew, was laying still on the bed. His eyes were closed and his body was no longer moving. One would almost think the boy was dead. Except on closer inspection he was breathing, but his breaths were so shallow one would almost miss them.
The doctor noticed his boss standing near the room looking at his patient.
The beast didn't turn and look at the doctor as his eyes remained on the boy breathing slowly. "Is he all better?"
The doctor wanted to snort, but he knew better. "No sir, I have sedated him. I am afraid that he will hurt himself if he remains awake."
"Hmm." the boss mumbled, "Elaborate." The black eyes turning to look at the small frame of the doctor beside him.
The doctor did not hesitate or feel irked by the rudeness of his boss. "He was thrashing around, hitting his body against anything and everything. His neurotransmitters were firing too rapidly, his brain was going to shut down permanently. If it pleases you boss, I can definitely wake him up."
"I want you to fix him." The man said as he turned back towards Matthew.
The doctor's eyes became large and his mouth was wide open in shock.
Sensing the shock radiating from the man beside him, he spoke, "I want you to understand and fix him. It will make it that much better when we tear him down." A wicked smirk illuminated his face.
The doctor nodded, that he understood. His boss was thinking of the long term. "Yes sir. Right away sure. I will make some calls. It will be done."
The doctor knew that he was expendable in the eyes of his boss. His only option was to make that boy conscious again. He almost felt bad for the boy...almost.
