Emmeline watched the girl go. She went back upstairs and stared at the red dress, she picked it up and held it in front of her in front of the mirror. "I feel like there is something I should remember, why can't I remember?" She said to the empty room. Her hazy green eyes staring back. As she was staring at her blurry reflection, she blacked out for a second dropping the dress in the process. When her vision returned to normal she bent down picking up the red dress with lost and forgotten memories. She went back and hung the other dresses up with the occasional glance at the red dressed laying on the bed. "Why can't I remember?" when she was exiting the room she noticed a red mask had fallen to the ground. She stared at it trying to recall a memory that wouldn't come. She set the mask next to the dress and left the room.

As Erin hugged the woman and waved goodbye she headed out. She had the dress, jewelry, hair, and make-up all she needed now was the date. She was starting to get impatient, when in the hell was he going to ask her?
They were still dating so it wasn't like he was planning on going with somebody else. She thought for a second, what if he wasn't planning on going at all? She scratched that, because if she wanted to go he would make it happen.
The girls the next day a lunch were talking about their dates or lack of. Matthew didn't join them today because he had to get some work done on the computers in the school's library. She still couldn't fathom how he lived without a smartphone let alone no electricity. She shook her head as it was none of her damn business.
"Erin? Earth to Erin?"
"Yeah, Steph, what's up?"
"I asked you if Matt had asked you yet."
Erin shook her head, "No, I don't think he even knows about the junior senior prom!?!"
"Maybe you'll just have to ask him" replied Stephanie.
"Thats really not a bad idea." He always does all the gentlemanly things, maybe she would just ask him. She told herself she would definitely ask him if he didn't do something by the end of the weekend. Erin thought to herself, maybe he was planning something big to ask her. She almost squealed out loud! But the more she thought about it, Matthew was not the type to do grand gestures, his were small and well thought out. Just sweet gestures that could always bring a smile to her face.
"So, Erin did you get your dress yet? I mean hopefully you did, because I swear everything has been picked over." Melanie whined.
"Actually, I did and it is absolutely perfect!"
"Oh?"
"Its a surprise, but what I will tell you is that it is red! And definitely there won't be another one at prom like it!"
"Oh my gosh, now you have me totally curious!" Melanie said as she leaned in closer holding Erin's hands.
"Oh Erin, do you want to come in our Limo for prom, we have two open seats?" Stephanie asked.
Erin thought about it for a second, while normally she would have said yes without a doubt, this time she was cautious. Matt didn't seem to have a lot of money, so she would have to check. "Can I get back to you on that?"
"I know money might be an issue for Matt, how about a trade, if we can take pictures on that gorgeous property he can ride for free?"
Erin smiled and her eyes turned to crescents, "that sounds perfect. Hold the spot, I will for sure give you an answer this weekend, Sunday at the latest." She thought for a moment, "because if that boy doesn't ask me on Saturday when we hang out, I will be asking him!"
The entire table nodded their heads in agreement. Erin smiled, she had a game plan. She was actually kind of hoping that Matt didn't have anything planned because she wanted to ask him in the most cheesy way possible. She smiled wickedly as a plan began to form in her mind.

Now that Matthew was driving he headed to Erin's house to pick her up. He pulled up and she was already waiting in cute skinny jeans and a gold, white, and black t-shirt.
"So, how set are you on going to the movies and seeing that 'squirrel girl' movie?"
"I am fine to go or not, either way. Is there something else you have in mind?"
"I was thinking of going to that old fashioned drive in theater?" She smiled sweetly. Hidden behind the smile was her scheming mind.
"That sounds great. Just provide directions." He opened the car door for her when she was safely inside he went around and got in on his side. He followed her directions to the theater, she directed where he should park. While he was finding a place to park, she texted her friend 'the plan is a go!'
Before the movie and before the upcoming releases, for 60 seconds:
"Matt, will you go to prom with me?" flashed upon the screen.
Matt was dumbfounded his mind was working so quickly it shut down. He turned to the girl next to him and pointed a finger at himself "me." and then a finger at her "and you?"
His reaction was priceless. Erin leaned over and hugged him and whispered in his ear, "will you be my date to prom? Matt?"
