We were already at the dining area and then we started eating. Some did not eat, some are looking like an idiots while looking at their food, others are crying, and I am here, one of the people who normally eat their food. I needed to eat due to fact that I need to get stronger since we will start rehearsing for the second game.
We finished eating and prepared ourselves for rehearsals. I remember Madam Miranda saying that she would say what the second game contained.
I went towards the candidates who survived the first game. There are traces of nervousness and fear that I saw on their faces.
"Can I ask a question?" I asked because I could no longer bear my curiosity. Their faces turned into confused, however none of them answered my question.
"What happened in your first game?" I asked again causing another shocked reaction on their faces. They still did not answer to my question. "Why can't you answer my question? And where are the other candidates? They didn't even say goodbye to us." I said, I saw a woman looking at me sharply. At the end she turned towards me and held my collar with both hands.
"Don't you understand! They are gone! They are dead! Their souls are probably already handed to the devils and demons!" The woman shouted at me, her face was full of anger, sadness, nervousness, fear and regret. Her tears, which she had been holding back earlier, were also dripping, while we were still at the table. She had bruises on her hands and a small scar on her face. She lowered her hands from my collar.
"The first game is celabimus et quaeris (hiding place)." She said, I saw her eyes full of sadness as she remembered the memories that were bitter in her mind.
"I won't ask any more questions again. I'm sorry for what I did." I said for forgiveness and left their place but the woman suddenly held my hand.
"The second game is in indumentis ovium lupi est scriptor (wolves in sheep's clothing)" She said. I got chills on what she said. "Kill me please, because I am one of the wolves." She told me.I avoided her and left immediately, I did not speak all day at the rehearsal. Yurika and Janine were with me as we rehearsed. I felt like a fool because my mind is still floating with the thought of things.
"What's bothering on your mind?" Yurika asked.
"It's still my third day actually, or fourth." I sadly said. "But Yurika, there's a lot of happenings in this place. And I also wonder why no one is visiting me. All of the women here including you were all visited however excluding me. To be honest, I am thankful that I am not visited or what ever that thing is called at but...on my first day here Yurika I saw something. ..I saw a monster walking down the hall, and the dog, there was a strange dog outside in the palace! " I shouted at her that caused her to covered my mouth.
"We shouldn't talk here, they can hear us." She reminded me that everywhere has an ears.
"Who are they?" We heard someone at the back suddenly asked us a question that caused us to become frightened however, when we looked at the back we saw Janine who is waiting and curiously knowing what is our gossip all about.
"Did you listen?" Yurika asked.
"Why, is it forbidden to listen?" Janine asked. "Do you think I cannot hear what you said earlier while I'm at you're back?" She asked again with an amusement tone of her's.
"Let's go to my room." I told them. They immediately followed me. We met a group of men heading to Madam Miranda's office. Janine collided with one of the guards due to her fall.
"Ouch!" She shouted. The man lend out his hand to help Janine however Instead of Janine accepting his hands, I was the one who took her hand because Madam Miranda was staring at us for too long. We saw Madam Miranda heading to us.
"You are about to dedicate yourself to a men. Do you know that women are always to blame for sins?" Madam Miranda asked Janine, the frustration on her face was obvious while looking at us and also me and Yurika, who is confused to understand the words she said. We are cannot understand on what she's talking about but I think I got a little knowledge about it.
Janine nodded. I stared at the man, his eyes were different from the man I had met, he was probably not the one I knew.
"Sorry Madam Miranda, we hastened our action." Yurika apologized for our wrong doing.
Madam Miranda looked at me, head to toe. "Looks like you're looking for a guest here young lady." She said to me. I was probably shocked on what she said.
"How?-" I asked her.
"It's three-thirty p.m. now, have fun of your free time. All of you may be one of the candidates, whose souls are now in the devil. Therefore, I will tell you guys again. have. fun." She reminded us.
"Yes madam." The three of us answered back and went to my room immediately without getting caught.
"We're close there." Yurika said with a laugh.
"To be honest I just want to hold the man's palm so that I can stand. It's good that you took me right away Heleana. Thank you both very much for helping me." Janine said.
"That's okay, in fact I will really take your hand. I red a book earlier in the library. I was just wondering...the many meanings about women, but most of the words I saw is..."They listened carefully to what I was saying.
" Sin. " I said without hesitation.
"It is really a sin for women, because in the beginning, Eve was the mother of us all who accepted the offer of Satan." Yurika said and layed down on my bed.
"I know...but there's another meaning of women which is death." I said to them and then they ended up laughing while I'm talking to them with a serious tone.
"What kind of definition is that." Janine said and laughed out loud. "We'll all probably die, I guess."
"Heleana." Yurika called to me. "There is a drawing above your bed." Janine looked at it, their reaction turned into shocked recognizing the symbol.
"It's just round." I said and immediately looked up on it. A star-shaped beyond the circle. I was shocked by what I saw.
"Don't you have a cross?" Janine asked.
"Isn't it forbidden to say God's name or anything that has a connection to him?" I wondered.
Yurika shook her head. "Yes, but it is only forbidden at six and twelve o'clock." She told me.
"And especially at three in the morning." Janine said.
The clock rang from outside, we could hear it inside.
"It's half past four, we have to leave your room." Yurika reminded me.
"Why?" I asked curiously.
"Madam Miranda will suspect us again." Janine reminded me. "And Heleana, it's Friday. Later, the full moon will rise again. I don't know, but I feel something wrong that will happen to you." I suddenly felt horrified by what she said.
"I'll bring you a rosary later after we eat." Yurika said. I was a little relieved, but I could not get out of my mind that my life was still in danger.
Ever since my mother died, I have stopped believing in God. All I trust is myself, I guess I needed to believe again onto him.
