Chapter 14 - First Fight

"Hey kiddo, the name's Bob, but people call me The Builder," said a young man with a large broadsword on his back.

Slap!

Overseer Lin gave the young man a slap on the back of his head before saying, "Enough of the jokes Takamura."

"Haha! Did he at least understand the joke?" laughed Takamura as he looked at Yuan Tai with an inquiring gaze.

Yuan Tai remained stoic as he looked at Takamura with a serious look in his eyes. Yuan Tai didn't know about Bob the Builder, especially when he grew up in an environment like King City.

"Damn. No sense of humor? Lin! Take the kid with you," sighed Takamura before receiving another slap on the back of his head.

Overseer Lin looked like she wanted to give Takamura another slap before sighing and introducing Takamura to Yuan Tai and vice versa, "This grumpy man you see here is called Sato Takamura. He's known as a clown, but on hunts and quests, he is the best broadsword expert you will ever get to know.

This young man is called Yuan Tai. He came over here to train his skills and I can tell he is exceptionally well with that long sword of his."

"..." Takamura scratched the back of his head as he looked at Yuan Tai with a careful gaze. His eyes swept over the sword on Yuan Tai's waist before moving on to Bing'er who was in his bag.

His eyes widened and sparkles gleamed. The next second, Bing'er was being held by Takamura and Yuan Tai didn't even notice the man move a single inch.

'This asshole...' cursed Yuan Tai as he looked at Bing'er in Takamura's grasp. His hand inched towards his long sword with rage as he wished to cut off Takamura's head.

Ever since Yuan Tai had lost his parents to World's Dungeon and the high level beasts on the other side, he had become isolated. However, when Bing'er came along, his lingering sadness was licked away by Bing'er who always looked happy to be by his side.

He vowed to kill whoever takes Bing'er away and torture for the rest of the life the person who kills Bing'er.

It wasn't until Overseer Lin helped him establish a contract with Bing'er and help it grow that he realized Bing's importance to him.

However, he first needs to gather experience points for such a thing to happen.

However, when Takamura grabbed Bing'er without Yuan Tai's permission, his reasoning was lost and it was like he turned berserk. His remaining consciousness tried stopping his arm from grasping onto the sword and slicing apart Takamura.

Slap!

A clear and crisp slap resounded within the room, snapping Yuan Tai out from that mild berserk state of his. He lifted his head up to see Bing'er jumping onto him from a slapped Takamura.

"I apologize for this fool's actions," said Overseer Lin as she gave the knocked out Takamura a kick. "He means no harm. He's just an enthusiast for rare beasts, so he took quite a liking to your Winter Fox."

"I see..." muttered Yuan Tai as he looked at the 'grounded' Takamura. "He can grab Bing'er whenever he wishes, but he needs to ask beforehand. As well as to promise to protect Bing'er with his life."

"Oh! That's easy!" said Takamura, standing up instantly and reaching out for Bing'er. "Can I hold onto your pet?"

"Sure," said Yuan Tai as he gave Bing'er a deep look. He smiled and handed Bing'er over to Takamura. However, even after the misunderstanding was resolved, Yuan Tai still wished to cut Takamura's head off.

Bing'er is his only bond to this cruel world, should anything ever happen to it, he doesn't know how he would continue going forward in this life of his.

After Takamura caressed Bing'er for a couple of minutes, he was finally ready to send Yuan Tai into his first fight.

"Okay. This guy is on the same level as you. So you only need to be careful about technique and take note of what stat is his highest. As long as speed or strength wasn't heavily invested in, then it will all be down to skill," voiced Takamura as he sent Yuan Tai up to fight with another young man.

Yuan Tai and the other young man had agreed to fight with no weapons, so Yuan Tai and the young man were going to fight unarmed.

Raising his fists into a basic fist stance, Yuan Tai decided to continue doing the basic techniques his father had instilled into him. His father had him practice the family's basic techniques before going into the techniques the family own.

Sadly, his father and mother both died before they could give him the Family's techniques. It was even worse if the techniques were in his house hidden since he had been kicked out of there and even had to flee King City to grow strong.
