Chapter 2 - Out of King City

'Fuck..'

Yuan Tai held on tightly to the Black Steel Dagger, ready to strike at any time once his barrel is knocked over.

Thump!

The two barrels next to him were both kicked over and the fish spilled onto the floor.

"Ugh, disgusting!" Yang frowned in displeasure as he kicked away a fish that was near his boots.

The two goons froze in place before turning over to look at their boss with fear. They know what happened to many people who have managed to make their boss enraged, and it won't end pretty for them.

After kicking away the fish with anger, Yang bent down and cleaned his boots. He turned to look at the two goons he sent and barked at them with anger. "Watch where you're kicking those barrels you two! I don't have much patience today-"

Riiing!

A ringing sound made it's way into the ears of everyone and interrupted Yang's scolding, causing him to grow even more irritated.

There are only three things that Yang despises most in the entire universe. Kill Stealers, people who dirty his favorite boots, and those who interrupt him. Each and every person who has ever done any of these three things have all ended up dead or fed to the creatures of World's Dungeon.

Bringing out his phone, he didn't bother glancing at the caller and spat out, "Who's the bastard who's done wanting to live! Who the fuck are you! How dare you call me right when I was disciplining my men!"

Everyone turned to look at Yang and were wondering who he was possibly going to kill. However what happened next really shocked them, even the fishermen were shocked.

"I see you would like to die Little Yang," softly spoke a hoarse voice after Yang stopped shouting.

Upon hearing the voice, Yang froze in place and began to sweat profusely. His face paled and he was drenched in cold sweat. He threw away his pride and kowtowed in front of everyone before yelling, "I'm sorry boss! I won't do it again! Please don't remove me-"

"Shut up," coldly spoke the hoarse voice.

He paused for a moment and continued, "There's a level 49 boss monster out in the field. If we're lucky enough, we can arrive before the Tiger Gang arrives and we can take the Legendary drops."

Yang froze and shook again, but this time in excitement before asking, "But boss, I'm not at a level high enough to help with Boss level monsters! Why would you call me?"

"Because, Little Yang, you're the one with the wide set of network and connection to everyone in our gang. Hurry up and call them and tell them the news. Have them meet me at the Brood Forest," harshly ordered the man before hanging up and leaving Yang dumbfounded.

After a second, he shook and regained composure before quickly making a lot of calls to everyone at level 40 and above. His hands kept shaking in excitement as he made the calls, the embarrassing moment from earlier fading from his head.

The two goons looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders before turning to look at the last barrel of fish with smiles.

Yuan Tai was surprised hearing that the group of people that were following him are planning to attack a boss level monster. He doesn't know much about anything pertaining to World's Dungeon, but he does know that there are many different types of monsters that roam World's Dungeon.

They are separated into five types. Common, Elite, Mini-Boss, Boss, and Danger being the recently discovered type. The levels don't determine anything about the grade of the drops, it's the amount of strength a beast can have in a single level.

Boss monsters were not only on a whole different level of strength in the same level as other beasts, but their skills are also absurd. Their skills are mostly comprised of AOE skills and they have a perverse amount of Health.

Each type of beast drops a different type of graded drop ascending from Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, to Mythical.

The fact that they managed to find a Boss level beast was amazing. Not even Tiger Gang had managed to find any yet, only meeting Mini-bosses every now and then.

Yuan Tai clenched his dagger in alert hearing footsteps around his barrel growing louder. He hasn't let down his guard, even under the shock of hearing a boss level monster finally appearing.

The goons nodded to each other and raised their legs, but before they could kick the barrel, they were stopped by Yang.

"Stop it you two. I'm going to let you both go for what happened earlier, so hurry up and leave already. We're going to Brood Forest to meet up with the boss." Yang called over his goons and walked away.

"But Yang, what about the thief?" nervously asked Tank.

"Who cares about the money Tank! We need to go to the boss now, even if we're low-level, we can help the boss and maybe get some spoils ourselves." A greedy light flashed through Yang's eyes before putting an arm around Tank's neck and walking away with him.

Hearing the Tank, Yang, and the two goons leave, Yuan Tai stayed in the barrel for a couple of minutes, hoping they actually left. If he came out of the barrels now and they were just waiting nearby for him, he would be dead.

Finally, after a couple of minutes, Yuan Tai was about to stand up from the barrel and leave, but heard a loud hammering noise.

Pa!

'Oh no!' Yuan Tai's eyes widened in shock as he tried standing up quickly. He was supposed to be able to leave the barrel easily since it had no lid, but when he was about to reach the surface, he hit his head with the lid.

It had been nailed down and it wouldn't budge at all.

"All right, good thing those bastards left. We can load the fish now, we don't have time to check them at all. Those Cat Gang members really put us behind schedule, we have to leave now. Quickly load the barrels on the truck." The old man sealed shut the other barrels and had Jack load the barrels on to the boat.

Yuan Tai didn't dare tell them to stop, if he did, who knows what they might do. They might call over the Cat Gang members to come and get him. If they don't and they decide to deal with him personally, he doesn't think he can do anything to Jack.

Jack is either a level 2 or 3 from the amount of strength and agility he has, and Yuan Tai knows he doesn't stand a chance against him. So he decided to remain quiet and wait until they stop looking his way.

After loading the barrels on the truck, the old man and Jack got in the truck and began riding away. As soon as the truck started moving, Yuan Tai began to carve his way out with his dagger.

It was rather difficult to try to cut a way out when you're cramped inside a barrel full of fish and your movements are prevented by the fish as well. Yuan Tai spent almost 45 minutes carving his way out before finally being able to make a way out for himself.

When he got out of the barrel, Yuan Tai already found himself in the middle of nowhere. The city he was in was nowhere to be seen in any direction. The truck had made many turns and it ran at a very fast pace, now he doesn't know how to find his way back.

All that surrounded the moving truck was a wide expanse of green land. No tree, no shrub, not a single form of life. Not even the city was in view, he didn't know from which way the city was since he was focused on exiting the barrel.

He shook his head with a self-deprecating smile, calling himself lucky for no longer having any attachment to the city he left. Now, he doesn't know where he might end up, so he decided to stay on the truck until it stops or he finds a town or a city.

A couple of hours passed and they made it to a forest when the sun finally set. The truck stopped and before the two fishermen got out of the truck, Yuan Tai sped away from the truck into a random direction, hoping there's a city or town.

Lucky for him, the old man and Jack didn't notice his presence at all, so he was able to get away from them safely. He couldn't rob the truck from them, considering Jack's presence there. All he can do now is hope that his survival skills are good enough to survive in the forest.

If he can survive in the forest, then finding a town or a city will be good. It shouldn't be too difficult trying to get some meat from squirrels and bunnies in the area.

Yuan Tai ran at full speed for 20 minutes before finally stopping and catching his breath deep in the forest.

After a couple of minutes, Yuan Tai finally caught his breath and walked around before finding a cave. Finding a cave, Yuan Tai didn't enter it right away, he took a couple steps back and scouted the area.

He needed to know if there were any animals nearby, or animals that could possibly live in the cave. Yuan Tai found a couple of traces of deer footprints, and found nothing else besides bunny and fox footprints. As well as a river not that far from the cave.

With a sigh of relief, Yuan Tai set some traps with makeshift ropes that took him three hours to make from the roots of the trees. After setting the traps, Yuan Tai scouted once more the surrounding area and noted that no animal appeared or approached.

Yawning, Yuan Tai collected a bit more of roots from some other trees and gathered a couple of sticks and a fallen thick branch before walking into the cave and setting the stuff aside.

He made himself comfortable and fell asleep with his dagger in hand.

The next day, when Yuan Tai woke up, he sat up and didn't go out just yet. He grabbed the big thick branch and began to cut it with his Dagger.

He wasn't the best carver, or bow maker, but he knew a little from the things he heard from a man with the Archer job. He tended to train making bows in case of emergencies, and Yuan Tai happened to have him explain it to him when he was 15 and before he disappeared.

Yuan Tai carved the bow and many of its needed qualities before adding the root that works perfectly as its string after cutting it right down the middle and making it thinner. He placed the string on the bow and tested the bow before making some adjustments to it.

After completing the bow, Yuan Tai focused on creating some arrows. He didn't have anything to add as an arrowhead to the arrows, so he sharpened the point instead. Leaving out the fletching came as no surprise either.

After finishing everything, Yuan Tai took the arrows and put them inside the hood of his sweater. A pretty nifty place he can draw arrows from.

"Now then, where to?" Yuan Tai looked around for a bit and went to check his traps.

He has checked 4 out of the twenty he had set up around the cave and finally found his prey on the fifth trap.

With a smile, Yuan Tai drew his makeshift bow and aimed it at his prey, but before he let go of the string, he saw two beady eyes looking at him with sadness.

'Damn,' Yuan Tai clicked his tongue and put away the arrow.

It wasn't that he can't kill an animal, or any being for that fact. In fact, he's killed since he was 14 for the sake of his survival. The amount of times he had to fend himself form perverted old men disgusts him. Some were greedy and tried taking his dagger, and he let them have it impaled in their hearts.

He let his 'prey' go because it was a baby fox.

'Was it ditched by it's parents?' Yuan Tai furrowed his eyebrows before letting go of the cub and watched it scurry off. It stopped and turned to look at Yuan Tai for a second before dashing into the deep ends of the forest.

Yuan Tai paid no heed to it anymore and checked the other traps.

In the other traps, he had more luck in catching prey. He caught 3 chubby rabbits that will now become his food.

He took them back with him, along with some sticks, after setting the traps once more. He scoured the area a bit more before going over to the river he found the day before and killed the bunnies there. He didn't have anywhere to put the blood, so he let it go down stream.

Not knowing much about survival in a forest, Yuan Tai skinned the bunnies and did a very poor job. He set up the fire with the sticks he brought back and cooked up the bunny meat.

"Finally done," Yuan Tai smiled as he breathed in the nice cooked smell of bunny meat. He picked up a stick with meat on it and just as he was about to bite in, he heard a tiny whimper.

With no delay, Yuan Tai brought out his dagger and was prepared for anything, until he saw his 'attacker'.

"Oh, it's just you," Yuan Tai calmed down after seeing that it was the cub he had saved earlier. He sat back down and ate the bunny meat.

"Arf!" The little fox cub did a little cute bark, gaining Yuan Tai's attention.

"What? You want some meat?" Yuan Tai asked before nonchalantly tossing the meat to the fox cub.

The fox cub looked at the meat and then back up at Yuan Tai before biting down on the meat and dragging it over next to him before eating the meat comfortably.

Looking at the fox cub with a strange look, Yuan Tai just petted it and said, "If you're going to stay with me, then I will have to name you and you will have to follow me. Alright?"

The fox cub didn't seem to understand anything, but it yelped in response to Yuan Tai's words.

"Hmm.." Yuan Tai put his hand on his jaw and began thinking of a name for the little fox cub. "Stain? Little Red? Bother? Oh, I know. From now on, you will be named Bing'er!"

The little cub jumped up on Yuan Tai and licked his face as if it liked it's new name.
