Valerie and Chris went to town to order some more food for the castle and such, like they do every 3 months. It's easier to order hundreds of bags of flour, than to order thousands. The grand Queen and King tried it before and ended up spending thousands more than what they should have on things.
Valerie and Chris stopped at a farmers market to get some fruit for lunch. They walked past a many things before they found something both of them enjoyed. Valerie didn't like watermelon, Chris didn't like grapes, Valerie didn't like apples, Chris didn't like strawberries, no one liked bananas, or blueberries, but they both loved pineapple.
"Look there, do you like pineapple?" Said Valerie as she pointed through a crowd and over to a small stand that looked like a lemonade stand.
"Yes I like pineapple, I like that if you eat to much it starts to feel like spikes in your mouth, yet you don't want to stop eating." Said Chris, as he looked through the crowd trying to find the stand Valerie was speaking of.
He couldn't seem to find to little stand, but followed Valerie, in hopes she didn't miss-see. Once Valerie and Chris found a way out of the crowd, they found a small stand, selling pineapples for 80 cents.
No one really liked pineapple in those time, so when Chris and Valerie walked past them taking a bite from their pineapple, they received weird looks.
They continued on in their day of tasks, and completed them far before they had to returned to the castle, so they decided to head to a nearby fair.
There were more people than there was at the farmers market, there were little children going around screaming, playing, laughing, and pouting. There were almost 30 games, and all were cheap, which caused people to keep playing not knowing how much it would add up to be. There were 5 hay bale rides, and there was even a pool you could enter , for a price of course. They served seasoned corn, cotton candy, pies, cakes, fresh made bread, and clusters, nothing to eat that would fill you except for the bread and corn.
First, they took a hay bale ride, then they played games and won prizes, ate some corn and bread, and chased each other around like they were small children.
This happened for an hour before Valerie started to realize she liked the man, and not like how she liked Mary, or Dorthy. It was more of how she liked Oscar, had she fallen in love with the man? No, no that wasn't possible, you can't fall in love with someone in 1 day.
Maybe, just being this happy around him made her brain not work right and sent the wrong feelings to her heart, or at least Valerie hoped so.
They left the fair and got into the carriage, yet Valerie felt to different, she felt like she want to kiss the man. She felt that was whom she was supposed to be spending her life with and not Oscar. What is wrong with her? Doesn't she know she is married, and also she has a crush right after Oscar?
Something wasn't right here, she wasn't feeling these emotions. She couldn't control herself, and threw herself right at Chris.
"Hey, couldn't wait until we got back to the castle hm? I thought you said you were married, must not be a faithful woman, but then how could you be with such a pretty face?" Chris said as he was hugging her.
Did he just call her unfaithful? How dare he! Yet somehow, Valerie wasn't mad. It seemed like she didn't mind it at all because she still had her arm hugging Chris tightly.
"Let go of me you wretch! How dare you have the audacity to call me unfaithful, and hug me like there is no tomorrow!" is what Valerie would have liked to say, but the only thing that came from her mouth were groans.
Why couldn't she speak? The heat must have gotten to her, she did feel fairly tired, and she didn't have anything to drink that day, so she could have just been dehydrated.
Once she was finally able to pull herself from Chris' arms, she went to sleep, in thought she was to tired to do anything, including talk. She also thought that's why she felt strong feelings for Chris, because she was tired and her brain wasn't functioning correctly, causing feelings to get mixed.
She woke up in a bed, it wasn't her bed, or anyone's bed she knew of, just a bed. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and looked at the clock on the side of wall, it was 10 at night. She looked around, and saw nothing but two doors, a lantern and a dresser with a plate of bread and fish on top.
She tried to reach to door closest to her, but was only stopped by a tug on her leg. She had been chained to the bed in her sleep, the only thing that was chained was her left ankle though, so she could move, and stretch.
She looked down and noticed her clothes had been changed, then walked over to the plate and started eating. She didn't freak out, because she knew she was safe for now. If whoever kidnapped her wanted her dead or to be sold to the slave establishment, they would have already killed or sold her.
Whoever kidnapped her wanted her alive, or at least they did for the moment.
