Chapter 20 - That maid ruined everything!

After Valerie was sure the ladies had left, she pressed the button Lilly had pressed to get out of the secret room.

The guards gave a weird look to her as she was leaving the dungeon, they hadn't seen her come in, so why were they seeing her come out?

Valerie rushed to the King, but he didn't want to been seen.

Is this really happening? Is Lilly really this desperate for the King's love? Why not just have married another prince?

Valerie wasn't able to reach the King at all. She tired and tired, begged and begged, yet the guards who were standing outside of the King and Queen's room wouldn't let her in.

She gave up for the day, but was determined to let the King know of Lilly's motives the next day.

The next morning Alan woke Valerie up, but they had both woken up late. In a rush Valerie threw on her maid uniform, and ran down to the dungeon. She needed to see if they finished making the love potion.

She slid into the corner she hid behind the first time she saw this happen, and waited for a coupe of minutes after Lilly walked in the room, just to be safe.

She ran into the cell and pressed in the brick that triggers the door to open, and hid behind the same vase she hid behind the first time.

7 minutes later, she heard a loud "FINISHED" from one of the witches, the liquid she held was in a tiny, clear tube. It was bubbling and the color, pink, smoke was coming from the liquid.

"Just put this into his drink doll, and he'll be all over you." said the witch who was holding the tiny tube, then gave it to Lilly.

"But be careful, because if the potion spills, pink smoke with arise from the spill and that will signal that the drink will no longer be able to make him fall in love with you." One of the other witches told Lilly, making her grip on the tiny tube tighter.

She led the ladies out of the room, after they gathered all the things they brought in the room.

What?! If Malphus drinks that, he'll be in love with Lilly! It won't be real love! It'll just be him forced to watch himself do something he's unhappy about!

After a few minutes, Valerie flew out of the room. She passed a grandfathers clock on the way to Malphus' room when she saw it was almost dinner. That meant Malphus and Lilly would already be in the grand hall!

She rushed to the other side of the castle, only to find things already being served. Lilly had the tiny tube in hand. She reached over his wine glass to touch his arm, while pouring the pink liquid into him cup. His water turned pink for a little bit, then turned clear again as if nothing ever happened.

Valerie took something from a nearby maid, and walked over to where Malphus was sitting to see him pick up the glass and put it to his mouth.

Valerie quickly put down the food, and slapped the wine glass right out of Malphus' hand.

"VALERIE! NO!" Screamed Lilly, as the glass had already touched to floor. Pink smoke rose from the water, as the water turned pink and then clear again.

"No, not 'Valerie, no', it is Valerie yes. Someone tried to put a love potion on me, and judging from your reaction, it was you who did so." The King said as he stood up and walked over to the spilled water to touch it.

"Butler, guards, Lilly, dungeon" The King said in as few words as possible, he didn't want to spend anymore time on this criminal.

She had tried to poison the King, and involved herself with black witches, unless she herself was one.

The King has more power over the kingdoms, so he could strip her of her title, and keep both the kingdoms.

Unfortunately for Lilly, the King was that cold blooded, he striped Lilly of her title and forced her to be a maid to pay for trying to poison the king for 5 of her next generations.

'That dumb maid!' Lilly thought to herself, 'If she hadn't slapped that drink out of Malphus' hands, I wouldn't be here!'

Then it crossed Lilly, why did Valerie slap the drink out of his hands? That wasn't an accident, but this maid was new, and worked for Malphus, not Lilly.

Something was up, and Lilly was determined to figure out what.
