Chapter 28 - The Happy Memories

"Every fight is not won by war Mr. Oliver Miller; some problems can be sorted with talks too. Take this case as an example," Sophia said smirking

Oliver scowled at his wife

"How jealous you are Oliver, you can't accept that our daughter listens to my words. Accept that I have a brain unlike you," Sophia said smirking

"You have convinced our daughter for once and you are behaving like you have bragged some international trophy. For your information, I have done that more times than you," Oliver said in his defense

"But now I have done that right, so you won't lose your pride if you praise your wife," Sophia replied to him

"To the greatest mother ever born in this world I salute you," Oliver said dramatically bowing his head and saluting his wife

Sophia laughed hard looking at her husband.

"My baby has grown up soo much, she became quite understanding," Oliver said taking Louisa into his embrace

Louisa smiled at him. The trio left the place and reached home.

After two days when everyone assembled on the dining table, Flora started feeding Louisa reciting some tales from the kids' storybooks

"When the Penguin caught the fish with its beak the Baby penguins clapped," Flora recited

"Aunt Flora, do you know something? When we visited Water Park two days back I wanted to have a Penguin but Mumma said to me that the Baby Penguin will cry if we separate it from its Mumma. So I gave up the idea of having one at our home, are you telling me the story of that Baby Penguin?" Louisa questioned her Aunt Flora

Flora looked at the couple dining there, as she didn't understand what Louisa is saying

"Yes Princess, your Aunt Flora is saying about the same Penguin. You know what the Penguin is so happy that you have let it stay with her Mumma so she asked me to give you something," Sophia said smiling

"What did the Penguin say? Did she ask you to give me a gift?" Louisa asked with a grin

"Well, why can't you see that yourself?" Sophia said arching her eyebrows

"Where can I see that?" Louisa asked jumping on the dining table

"In your room," as soon as the word's left Sophia's mouth Louisa jumped down from the dining table and started sprinting towards her floor while Flora followed Louisa

"What did you get her?" Oliver who has been listening to the conversation asked his wife

"Why don't you see that yourself?" Sophia said to him

Oliver nodded at that and walked towards the elevator

"Tag me along," Sophia said entering the elevator

Both Oliver and Sophia heard their daughter squealing when they reached their daughter's floor

"Did you hear her screams?" Oliver asked horrified

"Oliver, those or not screams. Louisa is just shouting with happiness," Sophia shouted but Oliver has started running towards his daughter's room without even paying heed to what his wife was saying

Oliver reached the room and saw Louisa clapping standing on her bed. He walked towards his daughter to see what is that thing which is making his baby so happy

When Oliver reached near Louisa's bed, he saw a life-sized Penguin teddy bear lying on her bed.

"Dad, see this Mumma gifted me the Penguin toy," Louisa said clapping clearly showing the excitement

In meantime, Sophia entered the room and glanced at her daughter who is explaining something to her dad animatedly. Sophia walked near her husband and daughter duo

"Did you like it?" Sophia questioned

"I love it, Mumma," Louisa said running into Sophia's embrace

Sophia signaled some staff and they walked inside the room

"Open the covers and place the toy over there," Sophia said pointing towards the open space between Louisa's wardrobe and the bed

The staff obeyed her orders and took the toy with them towards the open area. They removed the covers and moved back

Sophia took a remote in her hand and pressed a button and the Penguin started walking

"Mumma, the toy Penguin is walking," Louisa said clapping

"Yes Baby, if you press this button the toy will walk and press this button," Sophia said giving the remote to Louisa

Louisa pressed the button her Mom asked her to and looked at her new toy all elated. "Hello Louisa Miller; it's an honor to meet you," once the words left the toy's mouth Louisa hung her mouth open

Oliver looked at his wife all shocked and she winked at him in return.

"Dad, the toy Penguin is speaking too. I soo love it," Louisa said jumping down from her bed

The toy Penguin walked near them and Louisa arched her neck back to see the toy from head to toe. Sophia pressed another button, which paused the toy's movement, and it stood still

"Will Mumma let us know what more can the toy Penguin do?"Oliver asked his wife after lifting Louisa

"The toy can recite poems; it can walk all over the room. She will snuggle closer to Louisa in her bedtime and it will play all games with our darling daughter," Sophia said pulling Louisa's cheek

Thank you, Mumma, I loved it a lot. I am so happy," Louisa said jumping into her mother's lap

"Aww, I am happy if my daughter is happy," Sophia said kissing her daughter's cheeks.

"I am going to keep the toy with me always and I won't share it with anyone. Not even you Aunt Flora," Louisa said looking back at Flora who was smiling looking at Louisa's happiness.

"Okay Lou baby, keep it to yourself," Flora said smiling

Louisa kept playing with the toy every day after she returned from her school. The toy Penguin became her favorite and Louisa never left that, she even slept hugging the Penguin.

Sophia made sure that the toy is being maintained in the right way. She appointed one person to charge the toy and recite a story in the toy Penguins' chip every day when Louisa left to her school

Oliver smiled once the past memories flashed in his mind.

He looked at his daughter who is clutching the toy Penguin exactly the way she used to hold it as a child. Oliver forwarded his arm and ruffled her hair

"What happened to our loving family baby? Why broke us? Why did we lose happiness? Who is at mistake here?" Oliver questioned ruffling Louisa's hair

A tear fell from Oliver's eyes when the reality that their family has no love and happiness left, hit him hard.

"What sins we have committed in our past lives to bear this pain? Why should my girl endure all these heartbreaks and endless threats? Where is the happy go lucky girl to whom I gave birth to? Where is my wife whose life used to revolve around us? Please set everything back," Oliver prayed looking up

Oliver quickly got out of the bed when he saw Louisa moving to the other side.

He pulled the duvet on to his daughter and stared at her face closely. He lightly pecked on her forehead and left his daughters room

"Whatever anyone may say, all I want is my daughter's happiness and I will do anything for that," Oliver said after coming out of Louisa's room

"Make sure you people have an eye on everyone who is working on this floor. Don't allow anyone on this floor if they don't have the security seal on their id cards from Henry Broad," Oliver warned them
