Oliver Miller entered the dimly lit room. His wife was sleeping in the middle of the luxurious bed. Her hands were clutching the satin sheets. The bedside lamp beside her is the only source of light in the room.
Oliver walked near to Sophia and found her eyes open. She is starting at the ceiling. She is sleeping straight, not even a strand of her hair is moving. She is sleeping erect like a dead corpse
Oliver wondered what her wife is thinking so deep without even blinking her eyes. He walked near to her. He sat beside her on the bed and looked at her
There is still no moment in her body. He waited for her to acknowledge his presence. He gave up when she didn't even tilt her head to his side.
Oliver lifted the blanket a bit and caught hold of his wife's right arm
"Leave me....let me go...." Sophia said struggling to pull her hand from her husband's grip.
"Sophia, it's me your Oliver" he replied not letting go of her hand.
She turned her head towards the right side and saw her husband's smiling face
She lifted the blanket with difficulty. Her body is aching badly; she kept biting her lips to control the pain she is experiencing while trying to get up from the bed
Oliver saw his wife struggling and lend a hand to support her sit on the bed. He placed the soft pillows at her back.
She left a scream when she finally has done with the sitting
"Sophia, are you all right darling?" Oliver asked seemingly worried
"What do you think so?" Sophia said with the same cold face without changing her expression
Oliver didn't understand the change in her wife's mood all of a sudden. An hour back, she was behaving crazy in the dining area and now she is as calm a sea. The kind of sea, which can rise the tides any moment.
"Sophia, what had happened? Why did you behave that way downstairs and why are you so calm now? It's not the work of medication. Medicine takes at least two hours. Then how come you have become normal in less than an hour?" Oliver questioned her
Sophia looked at her husband's retreating figure. Even though he is aged he still has carries the enthralling aura around him. His face looked a little pale and his forehead is creased
"Looks like your darling daughter's arrival brought some unwanted tensions too," she said leaving a dry smile
"What are you speaking? We are in the top position for decades and we always had our fair share of threats. You can't blame Louisa for that and she has brought no new threats now," he said not looking at her
"Caught you, Mr. Miller," she said laughing hysterically
"What had you caught?" He asked tweaking his brow
"I have never mentioned the word 'threat' yet you have said about that Mr. Oliver Miller. So tell me what is the new threat, which you were so worried about? What is the ultimatum, which sent shivers down your spine, and you brought back your strong-headed daughter to cage her..... Once again," she yelled raging with anger

"One should train under you to know how to escape from parties and make people embarrassed," he said walking into the room
"I have clearly said no to the gathering. Then why should you should you arrange the gather people and get embarrassed?" Came the reply
"You have received the prestigious award. You got the recognition you deserve. Our Company has bragged many awards. The people who were waiting to get a glimpse of Asher Carter got to see him. Paparazzi went berserk and we have many prospective billionaires who never saw our face lined up to meet you. The Internet is flooded with messages for you. After all this, you wanted me not to arrange a big celebration and I have accepted that. However, I have invited our close people who supported us. I want to have few drinks with them," he said to Asher
"It's your plan to have drinks with them and I didn't stop you from having that. Then why are you blaming me?" Asher asked
"I have arranged it so that they can meet you but you have skipped that and flew away somewhere. What is so important for you that made you embarrass your father before everyone?" He questioned Asher
"I never wanted to embarrass you and I would have attended the gathering if not for the important thing I needed to sort out," Asher replied pressing the railing with his knuckles
"What is the thing which you needed to sort out so urgently that I have no idea about? There is no emergency in the office too?" Jordan Carter questioned
Asher was pressing the railing tight listening to his father's words. His eyes turned pale and vertical wrinkles formed on his forehead.
Jordan looked at his son's hands, which were gripping the railing so tight that the veins are ready to pop out of the skin
"Asher, when I posed a question, I expect an answer in return," Jordan said shrugging
"You want answer...okay here's your answer take that," Asher said without shifting his gaze towards his dad
"I said I had something important business to finish. Nowhere I had mentioned that you should have an idea about that. This is my personal thing and please don't poke a finger into it," Asher hissed
Upon hearing him hiss, his father shouted, "So it's none of my business? What if you are in some kind of threat? You got into the limelight today and along with fame, you will be introduced to threats. I don't want to lose anything..... Anything"
Jordan sounded so serious while saying that
"Damn it," Asher cursed clenching his fist in anger
"More than anyone out here if there is any person who knew how loss tastes, that would be 'me' and I am not going to lose this time and don't worry about threats they are not any new to me," Asher replied turning towards his father
"But..." Jordan was saying something but was cut by Asher
"No ifs and buts' this time. We are going to hit the bulls' eye for sure," Asher replied confidently
"But, I am worried about you," Jordan said in a calm tone
"Don't be. You don't need to be worried about my well-being. I have planned everything perfectly and I will execute that with utmost accuracy. You will see only good results and one more thing don't try to gather information behind my back. You will get nothing but a failure. When the right time arrives, I will let you know everything. I promise," Asher promised firmly.
