Lumi was floating in space, her body paralyzed by weightlessness. Her stomach roiled with nausea, her head thudded with pain pounding in her temples. She heard murmuring around her, the voices wrapped around her like molasses. It was strange being in this space. She would hear a rise in volume, conversations floating around her. She heard the arguments. So many arguments. She knew that they were all directed to her. The all involved blaming her in some way. She did not know what she did to hear different tones of derision, but for some reason she was the one to shoulder all of the blame.
She felt her heart get pinched with grief. She did not want to remember this. She did not know what it was she was avoiding, but she knew that it would hurt too much to remember. So she fought. Each time a she heard a pitch rise in volume, she would turn her head. When she started to feel those same invasive voices begin to dig their way into her conscious, she would bat at them. Somehow, she able to open her eyes. She was met with a barrage of colors and blurry images. She saw light glint off of what she could only guess to be jewelry. She heard a woman giggle as she wrapped her arms around a young woman. She did not know why that scene in particular, but she felt her heart constrict from hurt.
Then she felt her blood freeze as one image stared back at her. She saw the gaze of the floating prince. Except he was not separated from her by an orb. He was standing across from her, looking down at her in disgust. She watched as his head tilted to the side. His cold eyes studied her. She could tell from his expression that he viewed her as nothing more than an insect. Well, this just showed that there was no love lost between them. She lifted her head stubbornly. She hoped that her own eyes showed her own strong dislike of the prince.
"It would be so easy to trap you in here until you lose your mind," he informed her. His eyes danced in delight when he saw the fear flicker in her own.
"Sadly," he shrugged mockingly, "we need your...vile presence to fix what you broke."
She was tired. Just TIRED of all of the vague explanations and outright accusations of her character. She has had to deal with this character assassination for far too long. She no longer cared how she was involved in this mess, but she was going to get out of it.
"I'm leaving," she announced to the infuriating prince.
She felt satisfactions seeing him become go smacked at her words.
"What?" He hissed in fury.
"I. Am. Leaving," She knew that she was stuck and that she would be hard pressed to get out of her predicament. But the man acted like she had all this influence to cause destruction where she went so maybe there was some validity in his words. She just had to distract him long enough until she gather enough intel to escape.
"And how will you be doing that?" He may have kept his voice steady but she saw the uncertainty enter his eyes.
"If I truly have the power to supposedly destroy two worlds, then I should be able to get out of here easily enough."
She took pleasure in seeing the cruel prince pale. In fact, she felt vindicated. As if this feeling was a long time coming. She didn't know if she was who he was searching for, but at this point, she would finally just accept that she and this bastard was somehow connected. And maybe she had managed to escape...something. She may not remember how it happened, but it must have. Maybe there was a clue in the blurry memories. She figured she should keep the prince talking as she imperceptibly searched for the key for escape.
"Well, at least my new home is fine," she went on. She watched as the prince perked up at this.
"What nonsense are you on about?"
She smiled sweetly, hoping that the her sarcasm was as blatant and poisonous as possible.
"I mean.." she almost faltered as she saw something from the corner of her eye. Another clear memory. She cursed, mad that she could not completely focus on it. "I have never had anything more wonderful than my current life with my family." She felt her heart sank. She felt the worry creep back in as she thought about never seeing them again.
"Your filthy presence had not impacted your new world?" She could see that he was incredulous.
He stopped, his expression talking on a more contemplative look. She did not like that look one bit. She just knew that she was not going to like what he was going to say.
"Then you will be responsible for bringing us into your world."
She felt her brain become empty of all coherent thought.
Did he just...
Did he just command her to bring her to bring his sorry self into her world? To what, torment her further?
"Are you kidding me?" Her voice was empty of emotion but there was an anger simmering below the surface. It was not normal anger. It was a deep one. One that made her want to scream from the deepest depths of her soul.
"You think that I am going to help you?" She stared at him for a few moments before laughing. It was a cold chortle, one that had her gasping for air and clutching her stomach.
"And how will you survive?" She mocked him. "Because I sure as hell will not be your guide."
She watched as the prince reared back. Watched as he seethed in rage.
"You have no choice, you harlot!" Instead of being offended by his outdated insult, Lumi bursted out laughing again.
The prince bristled. "Stop. Laughing!"
Lumi made a show of wiping her eyes. She sneered at the prince before she lipped him off. "Over my dead body, Prick face."
She expected him to insult her further. Instead, he smiled.
Once again, she felt worry pool in the center of her being.
"Instead of you dead body," he smirked at her. "We would rather have your brother's instead."
Now Lumi was the one to rear back. "You keep Perseus out of this."
Hearing her beloved brother's name, the prince's lip curled in disgust. "Perseus? That thing has a name?"
"He is not a thing," she corrected him. "He's my beloved brother."
Now the prince was the one to chortle at her expense. "You were so desperate for your brother to love you that you replaced him with a beast? Oh, how...pathetic."
Lumi felt something drip from her hands. Looking down she realized that she pierced the skin with her fingernails and that blood was dripping into the revolving images, disappearing into their depths. Some the images her blood landed on stilled before disappearing among the many speeding images. Her palms heated in response.
"Well, it does not matter." The prince informed her. "We've already reached our destination."
Lumi looked back up at him. "What?"
The evil prince tilted his head. "Did you really think that I would allow you to gain the chance for you to escape?" He barked out a laugh as he studied her expression.
"No matter how much time has passed you never cease to amaze me with your stupidity." He lifted a hand and Lumi was once again immobile, cursing at being at his mercy.
"It's time to come home, my dear fiance."
With those final words her vision went white before everything faded into nothing.
