Chapter 7 - Meeting the Guild Master

Yuna and Elvin made their way up the stairs to the office of the Guild Master. Another Bunny girl was sitting at a desk adjacent to the door. "Hello and welcome to the office of the Guild Master." The bunny said.

Yuna handed her the note that she was given. "We are here for a meeting with the Guild Master please." She said.

"Right away! By the way my name is Radish, just tell me if you need anything while you are here." The bunny girl said.

"Yuna." Yuna replied. "So do we just see ourselves in? Or do you do something?"

"Oh right!" Radish said. "Silly me." She said as she knocked on her head in a joking manner. "Just head on through the door and the Guild Master will see you.

"Thank you." Yuna replied. She and Elvin then walked to the door of the Guild Masters office and Yuna slowly opened it. As they entered Yuna took in the surroundings. The office itself was a distinct change from the rest of the building. It had a regel feel to it. A real sense of upper class life. The rest of the building was just basic. Standard beams of wood lined the ceiling and the floors were of a simple wood. Even the walls were plain and unimaginative, painted in bland colors. Yuna saw the Guild Master sitting behind his desk reading what appeared to be reports. Seeing this reminded her of her old boss, who she had just seen earlier that day.

The guild master looked up noticing the two girls who had entered his office. "Please close the door behind you." He said in a calm relaxed voice. He was a large man with an epic beard. His clothes were finely tailored and had a tight fit around his muscular masculine body. He had piercing green eyes and a chiseled jawline. "Oh, new blood I see." He said as he noticed that he had not seen Yuna before. "Is this your first day as a summoned hero?"

"Yes sir." Yuna answered. "My name is Yuna, and it is a pleasure to meet you."

"You don't have to stand on such formalities with me." The Guild Master explained. "I created this guild so that we summoned would be able to band together, share experiences, and grow stronger. We all have a mission to do after all. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Maximillian Von Victor Arrington the Fourth. You can call me Max, or if you prefer to stand on ceremony you may still refer to me as Guild Master. I would prefer Max, though."

"Okay Max." Yuna said. "It seems that I confused the bunnies downstairs. They sent me to you in hopes that you would have some sage advice."

"Tell me what happened." Max said, crossing his legs and putting his hands on his knee.

Yuna then described her entire story, how she was an office worker who got summoned instead of the field agent. How her tests showed weird results. She left nothing out. She told Max about her world and the life that she used to live as well. "So that about catches you up, as to what is going on." She said as she finished her stories.

"Truly a fascinating tale." Max said. "You need to let go of the belief that you were summoned by mistake though. The way the King's spell works, such a thing would be impossible. I believe you were tested. This Fred, or Frank, or whatever his name was, is the strongest most skilled warrior in your world correct?"

"That's right." Yuna answered. "When you saw him in trouble, you didn't think, you didn't wait, you just acted. You risked everything you are to save someone that you consider to be more skilled than yourself. I believe most people would have run at that situation, thinking if it got the better of someone so superior that it indeed do them in as well. You acted though. That is why the spell chose you. Inside you beats the heart of a true hero, a selfless warrior who will sacrifice everything at a moment's notice for someone else."

"Wow." Yuna said. "I never thought about it like that."

"I have met with a lot of summoned heroes." Max explained. "Your story is not a unique one, at least the part about how you got here. The world you come from is very unique. I have never in all my years heard of a world quite like yours. Everyone who has ever been summoned came from a realm of magic and might. You described a world of science and technology. Words I had never even heard until you just told me about them.

"I find that hard to believe." Yuna replied. "That my world would be the only one that was modern."

"Believe it." Max said. "As for your stats, they make sense coming from the world you described. The job you did would loosely translate to a thief class here. You did have a lot of experience and picked up many skills. For example you can pick a lock, correct?"

"Of course." Yuna said. "At least twenty different ways."

"Could you sneak around unnoticed and pilfer the pockets of pedestrians that pass?"

Max asked.

"Without a doubt." Yuna answered.

"Could you craft poisons and explosives, if you wanted to?" Max asked.

"Well sure, that's just basic training." Yuna said.

"And as far as combat goes, can you handle yourself in a fight?" Max asked.

"I know fourteen different martial arts." Yuna said. "I see what you are getting at, I do fit the thief class quite well. At least from what I know of them. I only know them from the comics and video games of my world though."

"Those comics seem to be fairly accurate." Max said. "I suggest you dual class, with your attributes it would be a cinch. It would also give you an edge when it comes to combat." Max rummaged through his desk and pulled out a scroll. "I want you to take this scroll to a house on the outskirts of town. Just leave through the east gate. After you travel for a few hours you will see the house. Give this scroll to the person that lives there."

Yuna took the scroll and thanked Max for his help. Elvin and Yuna then left his office and began their quest.
