X throws his sword—the girls separate—he picks up the sleeping Dahlia over his shoulder and dashes out the window. Of course, not before snatching his sword that's stuck in the wall. It's a good thing he recognized these girls as the protagonist's harem members, or he would have ended up like that building Rin destroyed.
Meanwhile, the harem members were frozen in place from shock and confusion. Didn't he say they were going to die? Not knowing what to do, they look at each other in confusion.
"Mini, that man is obviously a con man." Gem speaks to her sister in disbelief.
"That jerk scammed us of our cute little friend." Mini stomps.
Smack!
"Owww! Hana!" the twin screams, holding their heads in pain.
"Do you think I'm done with you idiots." Ugly veins appear on Hana face as she looks down on the twins with murderous eyes. The twins knew they were screwed by looks alone.
At the same time, Rin really beat the last breath out of Lance before he die— rested in the infirmary. Soon, the twins will feel Rin's wrath from Hana's complaint and an anonymous tip about this morning incident.
Later, X gives Dahlia a stranger danger whistle to use every time the twins get too close to her liking.
In conclusion, Monday was a very productive day.
Then Tuesday comes strolling in with an angry sun. The campus becomes hot and sluggish. The unpredictable weather is not new here, City E is quite infamous for it in fact.
"What a pleasant day it is," X strolls under the sun's scrutiny with Dahlia as his tail, "It'd ashamed the sun didn't decide to burn the whole world today." X sips on his morning coffee, he never was a morning person.
The nearest patch of grass burst into flame from the heat, and Dahlia moves closer to X. Still shaken from yesterday, they decided to do the delivery together until she feels comfortable to do it by herself again. This time, when they reach the last floor for delivery, they did not knock on their door. And went on their merry way, the first class will start soon.
An elegant, "Monsters 201," carved into the wooden sign appears over the door to his first class.
"Take my hand. Do not stray far away." He warns his pet before twisting the rusty knob. X never went to school as he was an orphan in the nineteenth century, then a demon who did not need school. City Z, on the other hand, was no different from Hell. A hands-on experience for survival from the very beginning, if you die then it's on you and nobody else.
They walk into the boisterous room. The place full of semi-circle desks all pointing to the front where the a desk stands in front of a long chalkboard. They move through the sea of colorful student to get to an unoccupied seat.
A blue robe are usually politicians and merchant, so are not combatant related. A blue uniform, unlike a blue robe, is worn by battle support students, like healers and sometime mages. A scarlet robe are for general combatant, who are not in the frontline, like scouts or archers and mages. A scarlet uniform are worn by frontal combatant, tanks and battle-maniacs. All of them, strangely enough, sit in groups by their clothes.
Yet, why does he feel curious glances surround him when sit down on one of the benches. In the center of the room, in the middle of students in scarlet robes. X guesses he's about to be in trouble, but it's early in the morning and he was not going to be playing by the novel's rule right now.
"You are sitting in my seat," A beautiful woman, with a frown on her round face, appears.
X just sips his coffee before answering, "It's the first day of class, when did you have time to write your name on the seat." He replies before finishing off his Coffee.
"You—" The lady sounds piss, but X didn't care.
"Listen here!" At this moment, X didn't care if he was courting death with a harem member. "It's early morning and I'm not in the mood to talk anymore, so anything you have to say can wait!" He didn't care for the heavy silence in the room.
"Please," Dahlia quietly begs on the side. Tears in her eyes, trembling all over, her mental and emotional state still unstable from yesterday's event.
Heads turn to her, finally registering that little girl was there the whole time. Her quiet presence covered by X. Diana instantly gives up the fight for her seat, but the frown on her face deepens.
"Be grateful, that little girl save your face today." She says this with confidence, but the killing intent in that man's eyes secretly crushes her spirit. If they really fought, would she have actually won? She sits beside them, not saying another word. Good, he puts head down to steal some sleep before class starts.
But it's annoying. People begin to whisper to each other.
"That guy just stand up to the Ice Queen." Student A says.
Student C laughs, "That bitch got what she deserves."
Slam! X slams his fist against the desk. Voices drop altogether. He throws them with a fierce look. Their faces pale, while Diana watches him from the corner of her eyes.
"Shut the fuck up!" He slaps the desk. "If I hear you guys disrespect her one more time— no, if you interrupt my nap one more time..." Veins bulge from his necks as he curse threats left and right at them.
Diana's fist resting under her chin hides her twitching smile. She feels a sick satisfaction from being defended once in her life by others. She pushes the feeling down and looks away.
By the time, the last two harem members walk in, the room is quiet. They were creeped out, usually students will cheer when they see them, yet they just sit there as if they saw a ghost.
"What happened?" Addi asks Diana before sitting beside her.
"Add," Diana greets the petite girl with a nod. "Nothing important." She tells the cute girl.
Bullshit! The students all thinks to themselves.
"Diana," Mary greets her sister with a smile. The students around her start to have a nose bleed as their Goddess is beautiful today too.
Of course, the blonde ignores her. Why would she want to talk to her for? Mary sees this, her red eyes darken, she turns to the seat next to Diana. Only to see the seat taken already, but she is sure they won't mind finding another seat for her.
"Excuse m—"
"Nooo!" The class whispers as they don't want a repeat of earlier to happen again. To Mary's confusion.
"Sorry, sis." Diana gives the blue haired girl a twisted smile. "But my friend here gets a little cranky during the morning." She softly pats his back before X shakes her off and continues to sleep. "You'll just have to find another seat to sit.
Poor Mary Sue, today was not her day. And Diana was loving her sister's misfortune. She has to remember to thank the man for this later.
