***Kairo's POV***
'That dumb ass!'
Alcon weaved between the confused goblins, heading straight for the Chief. With a grin, the Chief slammed his sword into Alcon's, pushing him back.
Before the rest of the goblins could attack Alcon's back, I take out the two that are nearest to me with well placed knife strikes. This draws the attention of the other four and, with cries of rage, they attack me instead.
Despite the four goblins charging at me, I remain calm. After taking a deep breath and concentrating my mana, I form an image in my mind and say two words that will change the outcome of this battle.
"Light Sense."
I feel myself become more aware of the space around me.
To be more specific, I can sense the light bouncing and hitting everything. I can 'see' everything within a 5 foot radius.
"Rock Clone!"
Natalia had stayed back by the tunnel to keep a close eye on things. Seeing that I was getting ganged up on, she made three rock clones in a triangle that surrounded the goblins.
Each of them look remarkably like me and the goblins stop in their tracks, visibly confused.
I grin, draw a knife, and duck into the middle of the group. After realizing where I am they each spin around and attack.
Evading most of the attacks, I use the knife in my left hand to deflect one goblin's sword.
While it's off balance I grab the back of the goblin's head and slam my knee into his face.
As that one reels back, nose now flat as a pancake, the goblin behind me thrusts forward with a dagger.
I spin and grab his wrist. After stepping in, I flip him over my shoulder and slam him into the ground.
A goblin on my right swings an axe down at my head, which I spin away from so it ends up planted into the chest of the coughing goblin on the ground.
While the axe goblin tries to yank his weapon out of his comrades twitching corpse, I land a spinning kick on the side of his head and send him sailing headfirst into one of the clones.
Taking a deep breath, I turn to the last two goblins.
Squash nose has gotten back up and picked up his sword. The other one brandishes a hatchet.
I drop my knife and draw my sword, giving it a twirl before settling into my stance.
They screeching at me and charge.
I circle to the right around Smash nose. As the tip of his sword darts out at me, I smack my sword into the side of his blade.
It misses by a mile. The tip of my own sword darts in and out, impaling his throat.
A spray of blood hits my face, painting it red.
'I must have hit his jugular.'
'Seeing' the other goblin behind me, I drop to the ground and kick his legs out from underneath him. As soon as he hits the ground, he rolls away and goes to pull the axe out of his allies chest.
Unfortunately, I'm already behind him. The only thing he can do is stare at the blade sticking out of his sternum.
I never had to leave the triangle. The goblin slides off my blade, I fling off the blood, and turn to see how Alcon is doing.
***Bernadette's POV***
When I'm able to stand by myself, I take out a smaller axe strapped to my hip. My muscles are still weak from the shock, so my bigger axe is a no go.
The goblins are also up, but since they were closer to the lighting they recovered a tad bit slower. I easily split open one of their skulls and start walking over to the next nearest one.
He put up a bit of a fight, rolling away from two of my strikes.
However, my third found a home in his collar bone. I leave him to bleed out and walk to the last one, who also had been the first to be shocked.
It looked like Matt's first lightning bolt was the strongest, leaving this one still paralyzed from the neck down.
Before I could end it, the goblin screeched out in fear.
"Wait! Let live, tell why here!"
It was difficult to understand what the goblin was trying to say, but after seeing what Matt thought, I lowered my axe.
Sighing in relief, the goblin relaxed from his position on the ground.
I keep a close watch, ready with my axe while Matt sits down across from the goblin, thinking about what to ask first.
***Alcon's POV***
The only thing in my vision is the hob gobs ugly mug. The sword it holds is a cleaver, very similar looking to the one Ghal had used.
I become even more excited.
'What a perfect chance to test my new power!'
The fact I was pushed back by his first strike didn't face me.
After our blades separate I begin darting around the general. I apply pressure from all sides, never staying in the same place.
The hob gob is able to deflect and parry all of my attacks. However, whenever it swings back I'm never there to take the hit.
'Let's see what you think of this!'
I jump back, concentrating on a picture in my head. As if realizing I'm up to something, the hob gob charges and swings his blade down.
But it's to late.
"Ash Blade!"
A dull grey dagger materializes in front of me, parrying the attack.
With wide eyes, he leaps back, but I'm faster. A chunk of flesh falls from his arm. It was the first attack to land for either of us.
The blade floats back to the top of my head and I go on the offensive. This time, it's not even close.
With every attack, more blood flows from the hob gobs body. Eventually, he can no longer stand and falls to his knees.
"Wait!"
Seconds before I can finish him off, Kairo steps in and blocks my sword.
"What are you doing!"
Glancing at the hob gob, he whispers in my ear.
"Don't worry, you can still have your trophy. Just wait until I'm finished."
With a sigh, I step back while still keeping my eyes on the hob gob.
Natalia goes to stand behind Kairo, who is facing the general. Placing the tip of his sword under the hob gob's chin, Kairo tilts its head back so they were looking eye to eye.
"Why don't you tell me what a Chief like you, is doing here."
