Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Moving quickly down the vast endless corridors, we eventually ran into a taller man with dark brown hair wielding what looked to be a gun in is hands. Standing not far from him was a tall fury figure, which most certainly wasn't human. It was at least over six feet tall and had the appearance of a Yeti, or big-foot. Seeing this creature I slowed down my pace and my eyes grew wide from the unknown thing standing before me. Just like the man next to it, it was also holding a gun, which to me just thinking about it was quite comical, as it made me think of big-foot holding a rifle.

( ngl I actually laughed a bit when I wrote this, cause the thought of it was absolutely ridiculous XD)

"Can't get out that way!" Stated the man who was also dressed the same as Luke, in the white suits of armour.

"Looks like you've managed to cut off our only escape root." Leia said pointedly looking down the hall from whence the man and the big-foot creature came from.

"Maybe you'd like it better back in your cell, 'your highness'?" He shot back sarcastically, slowly turning his head to look back at her, only to then duck his head down along with Leia and Luke, who had also pulled me down with them, as a red laser beam hit right where our heads were mere moments before.

Not having time to process what just happened I was suddenly dragged by Luke against the far wall, numerous red lasers firing around us, creating that generic 'pew pew 'sound as they were released from the guns of the other troops in white down the hall.

( Again, I laughed at 'pew pew')

My heart was pumping fast, whether it was from the constant fact that numerous things were happening around me which I had no idea how to explain, or if it was the fact that Luke still hadn't let go of my arm. Looking at him I could see his face contort with frustration, as he continued to yell into his communication device. Obviously, who-ever was on the other end of the device wasn't helping him keep his composure, as he couldn't hide the frustration in his voice.

"There isn't any-other way out!" Said Luke, placing his device away in his suit pocket. The red lights seemed to be getting worse as more troopers began to flood into the end of the corridor.

Suddenly the tall hairy creature began to make some strange groaning noises, tilting its head back as it did.

"I can't hold them back forever," The brunette said, angling his gun back to the men at the end of the corridor and firing a few lasers every now-and-then, "Now what?!"

"This is some rescue", Yelled Leia over the sound of the lasers hitting the metal walls and floors near our bodies, "You came in here, didnt you even have a plan for getting out?"

"He's the brain, sweetheart!" Replied The man, briefly looking over at Leia before turning around and shooting some more.

Without warning, Leia grabbed Luke's gun and aimed it at a vent behind the dark haired mans legs. Shooting a single laser at the vent, the vent shattered, creating a hole big enough for us to climb through.

Never had I ever thought that lasers could do that much damage to an object. 'What weapons are these'? Am I in some type of movie, or something?' I began to wonder as I watched the people around me interact with each other. The only thing I had to be careful of at the moment was to not get shot by one of those laser beams.

"What the hell are you doing?!" The dark haired man exclaimed, looking at Leia in disbelief.

"Somebody has to save our skins!" She replied matter-of-factly, before pushing herself off the wall and into the middle of the hallway, her gun now aiming at the men gathered meters away.

Firing a couple of shots blindly into the now smoke filled end of the corridor, she then turned around to the rest of us, who were watching her in amazement.

"Into the garbage-chute fly-boy!" She spoke, throwing the gun back over to Luke, and him not expecting the weapon to come flying back over to him at such speed, before catching it in his hands and shooting at the men hidden behind all the smoke.

I watched tensely as Leia disappeared down the garbage-chute, not really knowing if I should follow. Then I felt a slight tug on my right arm and looked up to meet Luke's ocean blue eyes. They were beautiful, the perfect combination of blue and green. I could feel myself getting lost in them, until he cleared his thoat, snapping me back to reality.

"You go next, I'll follow after." He said slightly nodding his head in the direction of the garbage-chute.

Giving him a slight nod as a reply I rushed to the other side of the corridor and slipped into the horrid smelling vent, relieved that I didn't get shot in the process. I began falling through the dark tunnel for what seemed like hours, until I crash-landed into a large pile of rubbish.

The garbage room was spacious with mountains of trash filling up the place. Manky, putrid smelling water, covered the ground, the colour so rancid I couldn't see the bottom. The piles of trash stood like small islands amongst the unknown depths of garbage water. I grimaced at the thought of stepping into the water, it was definitely not on my to-do list, so I tried my best to crawl over the garbage, keeping away from the trashy water below.

Hearing ruckus on the other-side of the room I turned to see the tall fury thing banging on the exit of the trash chute, not far from it was Leia, slowly stepping her way through the gross water I had been telling myself I wouldn't set foot in. Not long after, both Luke and the other man tumbled down the chute and fell into the garbage I thankfully moved out of the way of.

"This garbage chute really was a wonderful idea! What an incredible smell you've discovered." Stated the dark haired man, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Leia looked at him as he spoke, hurt showing on her face as she tried to stand up right amongst the piles of debris pocking out of the water. The big-foot like creature let out another groan, causing the man to turn to face it in a huff, kicking the bits of floating rubbish out of the way as he did so.

"Let's get out of here," he said, sounding disgusted, "get away from there!" He yelled at the thing still trying to pry the door open.

Quietly looking on at what was going on, I saw him raise up his gun, aiming it at the door.

"No, wait!" Pleaded Luke, realising what he was about to do.

Suddenly, I felt the urge to drop down low into the pile of rubbish digging into my palms and knees. The sound of the gun going off echoed through the room, the red laser beam ricocheted off of the walls. After a couple of seconds the loud noise from the laser hitting the walls ceased and I slowly lifted my head back up the meet the startled gazes of everyone in the room.

"Can you forget it- I already tried, its magnetically sealed!" Scolded Luke, staring down at the man now lying on his back against the pile of rubbish.

"Put that thing away, you're gonna get us all killed!" Exclaimed Leia.

"Absolutely your worship-", Mocked the man, stepping slowly towards Leia, "look I had everything under control, 'till you lead us down here! You know its not gonna take long before they figure out what happened to us."

"It could be worse." Replied Leia pointedly.

All of a sudden, a creepy, groaning sound flitted through the room, making us all stop arguing and listen to it intently.

"It's worse." The man replied snarkily, turning his head to look at Leia.

Needing to know what was happening I managed to speak up, my voice sounding strained from all the built up fear in my system.

"U-Um, who are you?"

I asked, my voice slightly wavering as I looked at the dark haired man standing in-between Luke and Leia.

"Who am I? Who are you? Last time I checked we were here to rescue one princess, not two." He shot back, making my eyes widen by how rude he was being.

"Well, I'm not a princess, I only just got here, like, half an hour or so ago."

"If you're not a Princess, then who are you?", he questioned, all attention in the room now on me, "Cause this was definitely not what I signed up for."

Not knowing how to answer him, I changed the subject onto him.

"You still didn't answer my question." I said, losing my patience by the rudeness of the man in-front of me.

"Han Solo, pilot of the Millennium Falcon, and him over there", He stated pointing to the tall fury creature next to the door, "is my co-pilot, Chewbacca."

"Chew-what?" I echoed, no idea what he just said.

"Chewbacca, my Wookie." He spoke, annunciating his words, as if he was speaking to a toddler.

"Okay...."I spoke trailing off, I didn't quite know how to respond to such weird information.

"Wait, you don't know what a Wookie is? Where are you from? Did you hit your head or something?"

"I wouldn't be surprised if I did, all of this is too weird." I said looking around the room once more, wondering if maybe I did hit my head, and was currently in hospital unconscious.

"Listen, I'm all for learning your life stories, but can we please focus on the situation, please? We're all knee high in garbage." Spoke Leia, trying her best to get out of the water.

"Sure, your highness." Shot back Han, looking at the water, his nose scrunched up from the horrid smell.

After his reply, Han and Leia began to bicker again, completely not paying attention to Luke, who was now staring down at the water with an anxious look plastered across his face.

"Hey, I think somethings alive in here.."

"It's just your imagination." Han fired back in response to Luke's statement, before resuming his argument with Leia about how he had everything under control and how he wouldn't mind taking her back to her cell.

'So much for staying focused' I thought to myself, listening to them bicker on the other side of the room. I was soon caught off guard by the sound of water splashing near to where I was sitting on top of the garbage. Hesitantly, I slowly looked into the water, only to see nothing but the small scrapes of trash floating around on the surface. I turned my head over to Luke, meeting his aquamarine gaze. I wasn't expecting to find him looking at me, causing another blush to graze my freckled cheeks. I pushed away the urge to look away, and looked back at him squarely in the face. I thought back to what he had said a couple of seconds ago, and my face went milk white.

"Luke, I think you're right." I told him, the atmosphere around my body growing tense from the thought of something living beneath the surface of the garbage.

He looked at me for a moment, not really understanding what I was talking about, until he saw the petrified look on my face. Before he could reply to me, he suddenly jerked upwards in surprise.

"Something just brushed past my leg!" He yelled, now looking around to check for what ever touched his leg.

Hearing this, both Han and Leia ceased their pointless argument and also started to look around, nervousness showing in their expressions. No way was I going to join them in standing in the water containing a mysterious garbage creature, lurking beneath the surface of the contaminated water. The 'Wookie' or whatever it is, began to bang on the door again, now more forcefully than it was moments prior to whatever made that strange noise.

Un-expectantly, Luke let out a startled cry, as the creature wrapped one of its tentacles around his legs and pulled him into the murky water below.

"Kid!" Proclaimed Han, jumping forward to try and reach Luke.

"Luke!" Cried Leia and I, stupefied by what was happening.

Before any of us had the chance to help him, Luke was dragged under by the tentacles wrapped around his frame. His body was completely buried beneath the surface of the trash and not a sound of him struggling could be heard. The only sound audible to us was the constant calling of his name by Han, Leia and I and the persistent splashing, as Han tried to see beneath the junk and the rubble obscuring the grimy substance below.

Luke then shot up out of the water, wrestling a large tentacle wrapped tightly around his neck, keeping him in a choke hold. My heart began to race at the sight of him being suffocated, adrenaline flaring up through my veins.

"Shoot it!" Gasped Luke, trying to pry himself free of the creature but to no avail.

"Where?!" I screamed, climbing down the rubbish, entering the disgusting water.

"Anywhere!" He chocked back, no longer able to breathe.

Without anther thought I grabbed the gun from Han's grasp, and pointed it at the water near Luke's struggling body, and began to fire blindly into the water, praying that at least one shot would hit the thing.

With no luck, the creature once again pulled Luke under.

"Luke! No!" I cried now joining Han in pushing the debris out of the way to try and find him underneath the water.

Leia stood back, holding onto a long pipe she tried to get Luke to hold onto, staring around at the place Luke was just seen.

The sound of the walls creaking and things being clattered together rang through the now dead-silent room. Whatever that noise is, it definitely can't mean anything good.

Sputtering and flinging his arms around in search for something to grab onto, Luke re-surfaced, gasping desperately for air.

"Grab him!" Exclaimed Leia, towards Han who was standing just behind Luke in the water.

"What happened?!" She asked, confused yet also relieved at the same time.

"I dunno, I-it just let go of me and disappeared!" He answered, just as confused whilst letting out a few harsh coughs.

We all then stood there in bewilderment, no one daring to ask any-more questions about what had just occurred.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Han trailed, looking up at the walls and ceiling.

With no warning, the walls on either side of us began to slowly close in, the large piles of rubbish getting closer to our bodies every second.

"The walls!" Shouted Luke.

"Don't just stand there! Try and brace it with something!" Called out Leia, her eyes quickly darting around looking for something to prop against the walls.

Immediately, we all began to hunt for something to use as a brace, Han helping Leia lift up an abnormally large metal pole they had found buried beneath the rubble. Strong hands wrapped themselves around my waist from behind, and I was suddenly hoisted up onto the pile of rubbish in-front of me. Startled, I turned around to face the person who helped me, to see Luke himself trying to climb up the mountain of trash. Me being already perched on-top of the garbage pile, grabbed his arm and tried my best to help pull him up, only ending up half successful.

I turned to see Han, Leia and Chewbacca attempting to do the same, as Han lifted Leia as best he could so she could clamber onto the rubbish. Next to me, Luke pulled out his communication device and began to shout desperately into it, all the while trying to push away pieces of debris from his body to prevent the shards of sharp bits from impaling him.

With the walls closing in fast, I began to think that this was indeed the end, and began to climb my way up higher through the trash, in hopes of freeing my body from the oncoming heavy tip of disregarded objects. My claustrophobia became worse and worse each second. All until the heavy walls on either side of me seized their movement. Not long after the walls stopped moving, they began to recede back into place, all the pushed up mountains of rubble dispersing and collapsing back on itself as it went.

Never in my life had I felt more thankful for being alive, and a loud cry of happiness left my rose coloured lips. I suddenly felt two arms envelope me into an embrace, startled I whipped my head around to see Luke with a huge grin plastered on his face, hugging me in an act of joy and relief. Living in the moment I hugged him back, grateful to him for whatever he did to stop the walls from crushing us to death.

All too quickly he let go and we both swung round to face the other three life forms in the room, all of us let out cheers of satisfaction and we then proceeded towards the doors, all of us desperate to finally escape the foul stench of the garbage room.
