It was a long day and I was more than grateful that Dameon had not decided to tease me like he normally did. I probably would have made a joke or two if I saw someone uncharacteristically scared of something that wasn't there like I was earlier.
Perhaps it was due to the encounters with my brothers, but I've begun seeing my father in places he couldn't possibly be in. Even earlier when I told Dameon about the buzzing noise, I had actually lied as what I thought I saw in that darkness was my father lurking behind the door and the sound being his footsteps against the floor.
When the lights cut out, I felt like I was reliving the past and couldn't breathe. My whole body began to tremble as I saw him looming over me with that look in his eyes.
However... I glanced towards Dameon as he smoothly turns the corner to the direction of his house before glances briefly at me and smiles, his hand reassuringly covering mine as he gave my hand a gentle squeeze.
