Chapter 11: Leveling Up
After I saw the subclass book I immediately knew I was going to spend every single gold coin I had on this. It wasn't a confirmed good, the effects weren't even known, but the fact that it was brought from the ninetieth floor of the Tower of Miracle people would undoubtedly try to buy it.
"As its effects aren't known, the starting price is ten thousand gold coins!"
"Eleven thousand gold coins" I slowly began rising the price, so I didn't alert anyone of its value
"Thirteen thousand gold coins!"
"Sixteen thousand gold coins!"
"Seventeen thousand gold coins!"
"Twenty-five thousand gold coins!" I drastically rose the price, so they knew I was making myself clear, I intended to buy the book.
"Twenty-six thousand gold coins!"
"Thirty-five thousand gold coins!" I rose it by another ten thousand gold coins silencing the hall. No one knew what the book did but they knew they wouldn't buy a book for thirty-five thousand gold coins, therefore the hall fell silent.
"Thirty-five thousand gold coins going once, thirty-five thousand gold coins going twice, thirty-five thousand gold coins going thrice, sold to the city guardians room 3!"
Many people began talking since the city guardians room 3 bought more items than the royal family, at a lower price and lower quality of course.
Items kept coming out and being auctioned but I didn't care anymore, there wasn't anything better than the sub-class tome I managed to buy. I spent most of my money on it but I knew a unique sub-class was well worth it!
I patiently waited for the auction to end, while chit-chatting with Simon and Gatgas who kept asking me about the book. I told them my ability said it was something good for me and they didn't believe me.
After waiting for quite a bit, since great items kept showing up, we finally managed to leave at dusk. Our items were brought to our rooms and I stored them in my interspatial bag, we quickly left home to get a good night's rest and set out on our adventure tomorrow.
I checked my haul from the auction and realized I had quite the great items. Inspecting them closer I admired the Yrlvartor's family alchemy. I took my most precious item out of the bag and carefully inspected it.
[Sub-class tome: Beast Berserker]
[Rank: Unique

Effect: Grants the knowledge of beast berserking to the user but is consumed upon use.
Price: Incalculable]
The things that appeared made me a bit mad. I should've guessed it would have the level requirement, I already had Manny as my contracted beast, thankfully. What worried me the most were the effects, not using weapons and body armor was a bit of a concern, I didn't use any already since I used my earth as a weapon, and my hand to hand combat ability had become quite proficient lately but it still worried me about missing the whole world of weapons and armor.
I had imagined myself in the future wearing a full set of black armor, a big ass sword, and destroying every devil with my earth! My childish dreams were torn apart but I knew that a strong limitation such as this, would have an even stronger reward.
I decided to save the book until I was level 10 and checked the alchemist items.
[Yrlvartor's Potion Recipe]
[Rank: S+
Warning: Can only use once!
Effect: Learn how to create a potion that unlocks the user's potential. Highly increases the probability of getting a rarer class and magical affinity
Raises a common class to a rare class with a 50% probability, raises a rare class to an epic class with a 25% probability, raises an epic class to a legendary class with a 10% probability. Doesn't work on legendary classes.
Magical affinity raises along with class rarity.
Price: Incalculable]
It was quite an astonishing potion, I was bummed out by the fact that most of its ingredients came from The Twisted Forest, Eden, or The Jungle. I could get the ingredients in any of those places so I would have to wait until I reached Eden to sell some of those potions, after all, I had spent all my gold! I had like five thousand gold coins remaining but that wasn't good enough for a great adventurer like me!
I continued to check the Alchemist's Box.
[Yrlvartor's Priced Alchemist's Box]
[Rank: S+
Effect: Store elixirs throughout one day in the box to empower them up to two times the normal effect.
Has great synergy with Yrlvartor's Potion, raises probability to raise a common class to a rare class to 100%, probability to raise a rare class to an epic class to 50%, probability to raise an epic class to a legendary class to 20% and legendary class to unique class to 5%.
Price: Incalculable]
Holy sh*t. I immediately knew I had hit on a jackpot, I could create a potion that would satisfy any adventurer on this planet. Anyone would like to have the chance to raise their class by just drinking a potion, this was freaking stup*d.
Even I realized how dumb that was, I decided to investigate more about the Yrlvartor family since the two items I had grabbed from them were just stupid. They were only S+ rank but when combined their rank should be SSSSSSS rank, the hell! This potion would have a 50% chance to raise Simon's Fire Mage, rare class, to an epic class! It was insane!
I immediately decided that as soon as possible I would go to farm the ingredients.

[Ennelon, Elven Kingdom, South of Ethax]
In the prideful Elven Kingdom, the royal family was raising a young, small gorgeous kid. He wasn't an elf, they didn't know what race he looked quite human, but despite growing for 8 years, he was short. His physical abilities were terrible, but his magical power was absurd.
The elves were raising him to be the next king, they believed despite him not being an elf, that the young child would bring their kingdom to glory. His magic rivaled elders and they quickly nurtured him towards greatness.
The young, blonde child, had elegant characteristics, he was handsome, had golden eyes, and brilliantly blonde hair. He wasn't tall but his body held so much power within, it was strange.
If Nýr had looked at this kid, shining in the light, with his observation ability he would've learned two things. One, there were people just like him. Two, he had been slacking.

A new day had finally arrived, we were going to set off towards the Twisted Forest. Simon and Gatgas knew it was a high-risk place but it would grant us a lot of fights, experience, and rewards.
There were many dungeons throughout the Twisted Forest, ranging from 1 floored dungeon to 10 floored dungeons. Every floor had a goal the challengers had to achieve to advance to the next floor. For example, a required number of monsters slain, a floor boss, finding certain items, etc.
We were going to the most known dungeons after I got used to fighting against beasts. I convinced Simon and Gatgas to farm the ingredients I needed for the potions, so we took a caravan that left us close to the border of the Twisted Forest. We walked for hours through the snowy terrain and found a pack of ice wolves.
As their name suggests, the wolves have a high affinity to ice, their weakness is their frail waist and their levels averaged from six to thirteen. Gatgas and Simon left the coming battle so I could gain some easy experience.
I didn't want to bother with the weak pack of twelve wolves, therefore, I instantly willed the earth to rise, creating large spikes below the wolves that impaled them, mangling their waists.

My earth spikes were quite effective, given that the twelve wolves, including the alpha, were instantly killed. The XP was amazing, killing higher level enemies is way more effective.
We continued killing beasts along the way and I leveled 2 more times. Finally, we reached the Twisted Forest. There was a magical border that stopped the snow from coming into the forest as if there were two different worlds. Since I read the bestiary and had great knowledge of the geography of the forest, I had already planned a farming spot where a level 40 Spider Queen had her nest.
Spider Queens were known to have many spiderlings of high level, therefore their nests are great farming spots for XP. Considering I had Simon and Gatgas's backup I was quite confident that we could head there. I would take the chance to practice my close combat skills against the spiders who are familiar with this style of combat. Their six tough legs and big size made it so they could easily crush weak enemies.
The Twisted Forest looked eerie and dangerous, with black trees, purple leaves, bushes, and dark plants with purple flowers. The atmosphere was quite tense, as soon as we reached the spider's territory we could see spider webs all around the place a big spider over level 20 came towards us.
I fused with Manny, preparing for the combat. My stats considerably rose just like my height and muscles. My small horns grew upwards and looked quite devilish, my skin turned rough and I could feel the spider's existence from my connection with the earth.
I charged at the spider and made an earth blade grow from my right arm. Rushing towards the big spider, I dodged its frontal attack, and just when it was about to pierce my stomach with a spike, I turned the impacted area into sand, the spike went through. I turned my stomach back to normal and kept rushing towards the spider's abdomen, cutting two of its left legs before flexibly maneuvering away.
As the spider lost its balance, it desperately shot venom towards me, forcing me to use my magic and create an earth wall that blocked the venom, yet quickly melted. After using earth to protect me, I didn't use my ranged earth powers to attack the spider but at an astonishing speed, I reached below its abdomen and with a mighty kick powered by the earth, flipped the huge spider off the ground.
The spider fell to the ground, its abdomen was widely exposed. I didn't miss the chance and used my right forearm to rip its abdomen, ending with the spider's life.

I was reaching my level ten goal surprisingly fast, I was expectant to learn my unique sub-class but the atmosphere turned even eerier. I analyzed the surroundings before noticing seven spiders just like the one I killed before, my wish of practicing close combat skills wasn't going to be as easy as I thought before.
I chose to use everything against the spiders.
