Chapter 1 - 0

┌───────━┿──┿━───────┐

Operation 0: Assess the situation └───────━┿──┿━───────┘

Status: Ongoing

Objective: Assess the case with an open mind.

Current suspect: None

Current motive: None

Current victims in the game: None. The game has yet to restart.

Notes: Currently detectives are at a standstill on who the one forcing girls to play Russian Roulette is. They are unable to find a pattern in who is chosen and who isn't. The previous two winners never saw their captor's face, so they are unable to identify the perpetrator. It seems as though the one behind it all is playing a reverse game of Russian Roulette where there is one winner rather than one loser. Each game starts with nine girls. There is no evidence or clues backing up the game either. Detectives don't know whether to believe the two winners of the games, or blame them for the murders. The winners are telling the truth.

LEE MINHO had been at it for hours. Continuous research on this alleged 'game'. He had become intrigued by the case, and he wanted to solve it.

Minho was a broke college student majoring in criminology and minoring in criminal justice. It was no secret that Lee Minho wanted to be a detective. His father was a police officer, and Minho had witnessed multiple occasions where a murder or other crime was overlooked and the one accused was never really looked into. They either got sent to prison with little evidence, or let free with a lot. It never made sense to Minho, so it was no surprise that many times throughout high school he would find a case and attempt to solve it. Most of the time they were relatively small crimes, but this one he had to do. He knew more now.

Minho's father never really approved. Although he didn't deny his son's talent, he didn't agree with Minho running around solving crimes without a badge. He often called Minho a child telling him to grow up. Minho never cared though. He never listened.

Another thing about Minho was that he didn't do it to save lives or stop criminals. There was no "out of the goodness of his heart". He truly only solved crimes because he thought it was exhilarating. He took it as a hobby. He did it for the adrenalin and ego boost. He knew it was selfish and wrong, but he never cared. In fact to solve the crimes, he often went against the law. He snuck onto crime scenes, into morgues, borrowed case reports and returned them unnoticed, he even got ahold of a computer and police radio once used by a deceased officer that still receives immediate information.

The case was still not known to public. The only thing that the public knew was the cover up story. The public thought that these girls were creating suicide pacts online. It seemed far-fetched enough to be true. However, from the case files and the secret live victims, Minho knew it was far from the truth. It was clear that the case was much more complex than that. The cover story was made to not worry civilians that random women are being taken. Instead they are just telling people to seek help if you are experiencing toxic people online. The fact that police so easily lied about such a thing disgusted Lee Minho. The cases both had happened around where he lived, so if such a story was true, that would mean two groups of eight girls unrelated happened to make a suicide pact within the span of a month. It was simply unrealistic. Not to say the secret version was any more realistic. However, there were survivors and a pattern. Both survivors were found unconscious in the same forest around the same area, and when the area was investigated further, a cabin with the remaining eight bodies were found being preserved. It was disturbing, and clearly linked. The detailed stories that both survivors told were similar too, and neither girl had ever met the other. Once was luck, twice was a coincidence, and three times was a pattern. There were more than three things in common with the cases, but the a third game hadn't happened. Therefore, they refused to investigate further.

This case was the perfect case for Minho. It was high risk, and was heavy into psychology. It was challenging, and was left open. There was no way he would pass up such an opportunity. However, he couldn't do it himself this time. He knew that. He needed someone to use as bait, someone strong enough to take down the criminal, and someone heavy into tech. All three additions would be very useful to him, and he would be sure to acquire them.

The next day would be a Wednesday. It would be a perfect day to see who would fit this criteria. Thursday would be reserved for convincing them to join him. Lastly, on Friday he would ensure their spot on his team.

Minho was persistent and good at convincing people, so he knew as soon as he found someone for each spot, there was no way they could get out of it. What was the most difficult to find however, was someone to be the bait. The bait had a chance to die. They still had to play the game. It was up to chance. She would be most important, so she would have to commit 100%. That person was the one Minho was most worried to find. He had an idea of contenders for the other two roles, but the bait? For once, he had no clue.

Minho did know, however, that he would commit to this case. No matter what, he was going to find the killer. He was the only one stubborn enough to.
