Crash!
The medicine bowl he returned to her hands dropped on the floor and broke into may pieces. Anya stared at the man's face before stuttering, "You- You're Levi Angelo?"
"Insolence!" He said coldly. There weren't many people in his kingdom- in the whole world who was bold enough to call him by name. Anya ignored him as she quickly went to her medicine cabinet and rummaged through her medicine herbs.
She quickly boiled some more water and dumped a few herbs in it before looking at the handsome purple-eyed man nervously. He narrowed his eyes at her actions. Before he could raise his sword the third time, Anya was already pushing a medicine bowl to his mouth. "Quick drink it! Before the pain sets in."
Levi tasted the bitter medicine before he spat it out, making Anya panic. "No! You have to drink it quickly… I didn't put any pain relief medication on the first bowl. Your wound is about to hurt like crazy! Hurry up!" He didn't know why he listened, but he drank the bitter liquid until the bowl was empty. Anya sighed in relief before slumping on her chair.
"What's wrong with the medicine you made me drink before?" His cold gaze seemed to pierce right through her, making her shiver a little. She seemed to be proficient in the medicine arts. He was sure that she made the mistake on purpose.
Anya looked a little embarrassed as she stuttered. "You-you… You should have told me you weren't an assassin! I wanted to make you suffer a little… So, there was no pain relief medicine in the bowl I gave you." She paused before looking at the large cut covered by gauze on his chest. "With a wound as big and deep as that… It was probably going to hurt a lot without… The pain relief medicine."
Levi was surprised with her answer. "You are bold. You dare deceive a King?" Anya looked slightly insulted. "I wouldn't dare… It's just that… I really thought you were an assassin." She turned away from him before suddenly feeling really embarrassed she didn't recognize he wasn't an assassin. She felt his noble aura after all. "If only you told me in the start! I would… I wouldn't have done that…" She mumbled embarrassed.
The man felt satisfied with the girl's flustered self. That should teach her not to mess with him. He was about to get up when Anya stood up first. "I-I… Ah really, this is so embarrassing. Levi you-" He stopped her with a cold look, "Your Majesty. Call me Your Majesty, I'm the King of Baize. You dare call me by name?" Suddenly, Anya felt like his cold face was unbearable, so she crossed her arms and huffed.
"I'm your lifesaver! I can call you whatever I want Levi!" It was the first time Levi realized that his name could be uttered so sweetly. Why did he like it when she called his name? He froze and regained his senses. "Alright. Answer my question now." Anya was confused. What question? When Levi saw her confused expression, he repeated his question from earlier.
"What can I do to thank you for saving my life?"
Anya paused as she thought about it. There was really nothing she needed at this moment. She was a princess, she never felt like she lacked anything because she could have anything she wanted. Although her parents liked to spoil her, they also instilled values into her since she was young. She may be a troublemaker, but she knew her limits. She could make as much trouble as she liked as long as she didn't lose face for her kingdom.
"How about we leave it as a debt for now? I don't have anything I particularly need or want at the moment." She admitted. Levi looked at her before nodding. "Alright. Now I need to trouble you to lend me a horse, so I can go back to the palace. I'm sure there will be chaos if they can't find me by the end of the day." Anya suddenly remembered the assassins that chased after him. "You… It was you that was being chased by the assassins?"
Levi gave a curt nod and looked at her with cold eyes. "Will you lend me a horse or not?" Anya felt his eyes were frighteningly cold, but they were also very pretty! She looked at his taut posture and suddenly felt bad. The King of Baize was famously known to be cold and have a stone as a heart. He ruled the biggest and most powerful kingdom in the world, many people probably want him dead. How many people could he trust?
Anya was very aware that her life as a royal was very easy compared to others. Her parents never forced her to inherit the throne or marry someone she doesn't like. They basically let her live the life she liked. Although Aonani doesn't really like basking in luxury, she had more than enough to live a comfortable life. As she looked at Levi, she suddenly realized that his life as a royal must be vastly different from hers. He was only a few years older than her, yet he was already leading an entire kingdom, very well at that.
"I think you should send them a message and rest here for a few days. You never know. You might encounter assassins again on your way back. You're still very injured. I know you are one of the top martial arts experts in the world… So, assassins that could injure you like that must be extraordinary! The master behind them too! Aren't you risking your life by going back right now?"
Levi gave a start. Why was this woman showing so much concern? It's not like something will happen to her if he dies. "Will you lend me a horse or not?"
Anya looked at his stubbornly cold expression and felt her heart beat a little faster. She gave a start. Why was she feeling like this? Before she could question her feelings, she looked at him with determination. "I will lend you a horse." Levi nodded and prepared to get up, but Anya held his arm to stop him. Her green eyes were dancing in mischief when he met her eyes. He furrowed his eyebrows at her. What does she mean by this? As if reading his mind, Anya stood up and turned around.
"Let's go! I'll escort you back to Baize."
