A/N P.O.V. (8:30 p.m.)
"I want to be friends with you."
Jai couldn't believe what he just heard.
Sahana wants to be friends with him?
After that whole incident, when she ran out of his apartment, he was surprised she was still here.
Focusing on what Sahana just said, and not at the pace he was drinking, eventually, he too choked on his chai. *Cough, cough, COUGH!*
"Oh my god! Jai are you ok?" Sahana stood up and quickly walked towards him. Her lisp was less noticeable, and either way, it was the least of her problems. He nodded while still coughing, "Guess it was my turn now."
"Do you need some water? I can go get some." She started heading towards the kitchen but was stopped by Jai. She turned around to see him holding onto her wrist. Shivers went down her spine as she stared at his hand.
"Water
*cough* *cough*
tastes terrible
*cough* *cough*
after chai
*cough*."
Sahana turned her attention away from his hand and towards his response. She snapped her thoughts away, "Yeah you're right. I've learned from my mistake." She snickered.
Jai grinned in response, his cough slowly dying down.
He looked at Sahana and realized he was still holding on to her wrist and quickly let go. "Sorry." He looked away being slightly flushed.
Sahana looked down at her wrist and back at Jai. She leaned down and patted his back, "It's ok, you don't have to apologize."
Jai turned to her but didn't realize how close their faces were from each other now.
For a split second, they stared into one another's eyes, redness slowly displayed onto both of their cheeks.
For some reason, neither of them wanted to be the first to look away.
Sahana started to not only feel but hear the rapid beating of her heart.
Jai's ears started to transition into the same color his cheeks now were.
Neither of them yet to look away.
Then out of nowhere,
"BARK! BARK! BARK!"
Immediately, they both snapped out of it.
Sahana quickly walked back to where she was seated, making sure to not make eye contact with Jai.
Jai fixed himself to where he was and again looked away from Sahana, so she couldn't see how much of a tomato he looked like.
Monty and Amiga came running into the living room, and both hopped onto the couch where Sahana was. They both circled around themselves and rested their heads on either side of her lap. Sahana grinned while gently stroking their heads, as each began to close their eyes.
Jai heard giggling from behind and turned his head to see her looking down at both of the dogs as she continued to caress them.
He smiled at the sight,
not only of the dogs,
but Sahana.
Her long curly hair was tucked behind her ears and rested on her back, but they couldn't hold all her hair so eventually, some strands in the front fell out, leaving them to hang in front of her face.
A subtle ombre showed through her curl pattern, effortlessly leaving a light-brown color at the tips.
Jai rested his chin onto his palm, as he continued observing her.
Eyes being a dark chocolate brown, and long eyelashes that sprung out, adding more to her alluring beauty.
A small petite nose that perfectly fits in with her face shape, and soft plump lips which have a natural shade to them and complimented her clear, light-tan skin tone.
"She really is something." Jai said to himself, that caught Sahana's attention.
"Hm? Did you say something?"
Jai quickly sat straight, hoping it wasn't too obvious that he was staring at her, "WHAT NO UM, I-I was gonna say YOUR LISP IS GONE!" he grinned.
Nice one Jai, nice fucking one
Sahana rolled her eyes, "Yeah, thank god."
Jai tried changing the conversation, "So, why the sudden change of thought?
How come you want to be friends with me now?"
Sahana expected Jai to ask that question. She didn't know how to express her emotions and just shrugged, "Why not?"
"I really thought you hated me after you ran out, or thought I was some weird person. I didn't hear from you for a while after too." He said and looked down.
"I was just surprised and overwhelmed by it." was all that Sahana could say.
"How would you react, if a person who came into your apartment in the middle of the night out of nowhere, then asks to be friends with you?"
Jai nodded, "Yeah I understand." He scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment since this wasn't the first time he's been told of his stupidity.
They sat in silence.
Until a yawn came out of Sahana.
"Are you tired?" Jai asked.
"Eh, just a little." Sahana yawned again.
Jai checked the time: 9:00.
It's already 9? Sahana would want to leave now.
Jai looked down.
I don't want her to leave.
Jai turned to see Sahana starting to doze off. "Sahana, it's 9."
She shot her head up, "Huh? What?"
"It's 9." he said again.
"Oh, then I should probably head out now." she started to get up but couldn't.
"Ah, my legs are numb. I can't get upp." She whined and looked down at Monty and Amiga still sleeping soundly on her lap.
"But I don't want to wake them up. They look so cute." She whispered to herself and pouted.
As Jai was seeing this whole thing, he stood up and went toward her. He leaned down and slowly put his hands, underneath Monty's head and placed them off of Sahana's lap, doing the same with Amiga.
"There you go," He quietly said and smiled, "Do you need help getting up?" Sahana slowly nodded.
Jai extended his arms to her and she grasped onto his hands.
He used some force to successfully pull Sahana up as she slightly stumbled, standing up. Both made sure not to fully make eye contact with one another, so either won't become the inside of a watermelon once again.
"Are you good? Can you walk by yourself?" Jai asked.
Here's a fun fact about Sahana.
She has a bad habit of acting the same when she's either sleepy or drunk.
So, it's been tough for Cassia and Sami especially when dealing with her, those poor girls.
Now it's Jai's turn to witness the mania.
Sahana nodded in response and started walking.
After two steps, the dumbass tripped on herself and began to fall, "OH SHIT!"
But was thankfully caught by Jai in time.
"Careful." He breathed.
Sahana looked at Jai and how his arms were enveloped around her, protecting her from the fall.
I guess she figured out how it's like to be in them now.
She then looked up at him again and snickered without thinking, "You have nice arms hehe."
Jai couldn't stop from smiling at what she said. "Well thank you."
But then Sahana started dozing off again, her eyes became heavy and eventually couldn't control them from fully closing.
"No, no, no Sahana don't sleep yet," Jai sighed, "I guess this is what I get for not wanting her to leave." He then looked up, "God, I thought you were on my side with this."
Shaking his head, Jai proceeded to slowly pick up Sahana bridal style and head towards the couch.
He faced the couch to see 2 babies sleeping, "Taken." he sighed.
Noticing that Monty was lying on a phone, he assumed it was Sahana's. Taking it, he went to his bedroom.
Jai opened the door and walked to his bed. Slowly setting down Sahana onto it, watching her slowly sink into it as she shifted from side to side to get comfy.
He pulled the sheets from underneath and covered her until the sheets hit her collarbones. Sahana continued to move, causing her hair to go every which way along his bed.
She looked like a demon, who was sleeping very nicely.
Yet, that didn't stop Jai.
He leaned onto the bed and took all the strands off her face.
In the end, he was satisfied.
Sahana was now sleeping peacefully as the moonlight showed through the window, illuminating her face.
Cute
He ruffled his fingers through his hair then put Sahana's phone on his nightstand next to the bed and began to leave.
He glanced at her once more.
"Goodnight, Sahana."
