Chapter 67 - Sorry

(A/N: Did that title scare you? Hahahaha! Anyways a lot happened these past few weeks. First. I started a new job that I'm still training in, but now I'll be working at home. I'll have more time for writing now, but I've just been more focused on learning my job so that I can do it efficiently as I happen to like it. Also, you know a certain game console that starts with a P that came out and your author has been distracted ever since!

However, it is out of my system and I'm ready to churn out chapters. I have my notes ready and I've been re-watching justice league while reading old comics. I'm prepared to do some wild stuff!

Thank you for the love and support you guys! Let's get back into this!

Enjoy!

Come yell at me in discord if you want me to hurry up.

Hearing their voices at this time caused Ethan to seriously think of all of the things he has now in this world. He's not alone anymore, and he has people that love him and care about his well being when he didn't.

It was highly selfish of him to throw all that away especially because he is responsible for their current situation.

Sure, there were circumstances, but it didn't change the fact he promised them that he would do everything he can to make them happy.

Was he really going to end it all and take every single one of them to the afterlife?

Over something silly as this?

Ethan started to feel extremely guilty about his behavior but it also made him realize that he needed to shape up.

Who cares if Tydris won't tell him why he was chosen as his successor.

Who cares if he's lying about bringing his parents back to life.

All that matters is that he has a life to live and if anything or anyone gets in his way then...

Obliterate them!

'...I'm not sure why you chose me, but I won't let myself be used. I'll find out what you're hiding and if it causes my life to be ruined then...you better believe I'll fight with everything I have...' Ethan thought as he clenched his fist.

'You wanted me to be a dragon so bad...I'll show you DRAGON!!!'

Soon after making up his mind, the power he was holding back erupted all at once, pushing him to the next stage.

*Rumble* As a result of advancing to the next stage, the ocean water in the vicinity started to tremble making it seem like the sea was angry, shifting back and forth violently until it a giant whirlpool formed

The golden beacon became even more prominent as its light made the people of New York feel that it was still day time.

What was happening in the ocean? They all thought.

Seeing such a scene caused the red-haired woman to momentarily forget about her fight, leaving her wide open for an attack by the enraged Harley. However, luck was on her side as someone reacted faster than she did.

"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!!" Raven quickly chanted, covering all the girls including the red-haired https://discord.gg/aH9vqHX with her magic, teleporting them on the beach.

Immediately after touching land, Pamela used her vines to tie up Harley who was still trying to slaughter her opponent. The woman in question raised her guard once again, preparing to fight the other women in front of her with a close eye on Raven.

However, none of the other women made a move on her as their eyes were looking elsewhere.

"Why-"

*ROOOAR!!!* Moments later, A monstrous roar so loud that could be heard all over New York City. The sound was familiar to some as they watched the news of what happened in Washington DC not that long ago.

A Dragon?!

There was a dragon near New York City?!

The people were frightened, and some even swore they could see one within the golden light, however it was quickly written off as hallucinations.

The source of the strange phenomenon happened to be going through a metamorphosis, the pain he felt earlier melted away and was replaced with energy that rampaged throughout his body.

The energy then turned into power, changing everything from his skin down to his very bones, making them stronger. At his current state, Superman wouldn't be able to hold a candle to him unless he becomes the massively overpowered version which is Superman Prime.

Would that happen in the future?

Who knows!

The only thing that matters is that he takes hold of his own future as a dragon!

Subconsciously, Ethan could always feel that he wasn't a full dragon just yet, but now he was one step closer to becoming a mythical beast known for its strength and ferocity.

A being that can rip down the skies and rain destruction on anyone that stands in their way!

Only the future will know if this would be a good thing...

As dramatic and strange as it is, the whole ordeal ended in a matter of minutes, but not without a...

*BOOM!* The once beautiful golden light exploded, sending gallons and gallons of ocean water into the air making a massive pillar the height of the Empire State Building before crashing back down.

Soon after, the ocean started to regain its calm, and swimming across it to the shore was Ethan who was gasping air. He felt exhausted despite becoming stronger, but a good night's rest would rid that feeling.

"Master!!" Myra couldn't hold back anymore and dashed over to him as soon as he touched the sand, tackling him to the ground. She started to sob while her arms tightened around him, causing Ethan to feel even more guilty.

"I'm-"

"Please don't leave me...please..." Myra whimpered as she squeezed him even more, afraid that if she lets go he would disappear before her eyes.

"I'm sorry..." Ethan frowned whilst stroking her wet hair. "...It won't happen again." He said as he got up from the ground with Myra still attached to him.

"You...." Pamela glared at him in silence. "You're going to hear a LOT from me...just be prepared." She scowled.

Raven was silent, but Ethan could tell that she was angry at him too which was expected.

"LET ME GO ALREADY!!" Harley growled as she continued to struggle against Pamela's vines. She managed to cut through several but they were quickly replaced, keeping her on the ground.

Ethan shook his head and sighed before calling her name in a slightly commanding tone.

"Harley."

"WHAT?!-Honeybun!" Hearing his voice caused the blonde to let go of all of her anger faster than a child's attention span. The only thing on her mind was Ethan, the man who she gave her entire heart to, and the one that was going to be the father of her future children.

Yes, the Harley Quinn wanted to be a mother and it was something she had been thinking about it for a while. Soon, her feral transformation started to subside and it was at this time that Pamela finally let go of her.

Tears streamed down her eyes as she dashed across the sand, reaching him in a matter of seconds, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Myra was partly in the way, but it didn't stop Harley from crashing her lips against his own as if she was reassuring herself that he was real.

After the long passionate kiss, she'd look at him with her crystal clear blue eyes, looking him over. She saw him just minutes ago, and yet she felt that he changed a lot in the short period of time. However, once her initial feeling of relief passed, she clenched her teeth in anger.

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

"I-"

"Listen here you little shit! Don't you ever do something like this again! If you ever... if you...ever..." The words Harley wanted to say started to get caught in her throat as she experienced a wave of emotions.

....

Even though he decided to make good on his promise, he wasn't off to a good start as he made two of them cry while the other two were angry...

'I wonder what Sandra is up to...' He thought.

>>>>>Several Days Ago<<<<<

Back in Gotham City, Sandra was on a mission to tie up loose ends as she wanted to be able to give all her attention to Ethan when she returns to his side. She was looking for the man that introduced her to the world of assassins, and the one who was the father of her child that she never got to meet.

It didn't take long for Sandra to track down David and found him in a particularly bad neighborhood which was perfect for an assassin to keep hidden.

It was night time, and the man was sitting out on his front porch with a bottle of whiskey in his hand, drinking it without a care in the world.

Most people in this neighborhood would look at his disheveled look and think it would be easy to rob him, however, Sandra knew better than anyone not to underestimate this man.

David felt a presence standing in front of him, but he still continued to drink until the bottle was empty.

"....What do you want?.. If I'm not mistaken you were on an important assignment..." He groaned.

"I finished," Sandra replied plainly as she folded her arms. Looking at this man, she didn't feel angry nor did she feel sad. She felt absolutely nothing for this man that killed her sister and forced her to have a child to spare her life.

If anything, she felt grateful as she would have never reached her full potential and she would have never fallen in love.

"You don't look so good."

"Heh...you think?" He chuckled. "What? Do you suddenly have feelings for me after all this time?"

"For someone like you? I would never."

"You're right...why would a bitch like you have feelings."

"I've come to collect my daughter..."

"Your daughter?....Hahahaha!!" David laughed as he stood up. "Her daughter she says! Hahaha! I didn't know you were a comedian Sandra."

"Don't call me that..." Sandra frowned.

"What?" David raised an eyebrow. "A comedian? Or you mean using the name you threw away..Sandr-"

Suddenly, David found his voice abruptly stopped by a hand around his neck, lifting him up like he was made of air. He knew that she was strong, but not that strong to catch him off guard and lift him up with one hand.

"I don't care what happened in the past between us. Normally, I should have come to kill you as soon as I became stronger several years ago, but I didn't...Don't give me a reason to end your life....I can count on one hand of the people I will allow to call me by my name."

"You're not one of them." She scowled, tightening her hold on him causing him to struggle to breathe.

"Now, tell me...where is she?.."

>>>> Present Time<<<<

As Harley was chewing Ethan out, sirens belonging to police could be heard in the distance which meant it was time to go.

"Let's save this for another time..." He said to which Harley groaned.

"What about fish lady over there?" She asked.

Ethan looked at the beautiful red-haired woman and immediately he knew who she was due to her being one of the most powerful women of the DC universe. She is what people would call a mermaid, but not just any mermaid, she was a Xebelian.

The princess of Xebel, Y'Mera Xebella Challa otherwise known as Mera, the woman who became the queen of Atlantis with Aquaman by her side as king.

Looking at her now told her that hasn't become true yet which means it was about time for Orm Marius to launch an attack on the surface. However, he could care less about it, but he would be lying if he said he wasn't interested in the Atlanteans.

Seeing the unknown man eye her caused Mera to flinch back as she knew that she was outmatched by him after what just happened before her eyes.

"Princess Y'Mera. I would like to ask you a few questions... How is your knowledge about Atlan?..."

Mera immediately frowned after hearing full name being called as only the ones back home should know her name.

"Who are you?..."

"Someone that needs to become stronger...so much stronger..."
