Chapter 61 - Not A Hero 4/4

Once the people left the building, Pamela returned to normal with her signature smirk on her face.

"...What exactly are you after?" Bruce asked as he slowly reached for his utility belt to keep Pamela from noticing, but nothing escaped her eyes, she just pretended it did.

"The only thing I want is to spend the rest of my life with my hubby and become a great mother to my unborn child. My past ambitions don't matter anymore...He turned my life upside down and I love him for it." Pamela said.

"I'll do anything for him. I'll stop my unnecessary killing. I'll stop seducing people with my powers... I'm no longer the villain known as Poison Ivy. Oh, I was told that you were the one that caused him to start his journey. So, for once I'll say...Thank you, Batman." The redhead added as she grabbed more seeds from her purse.

The Justice League couldn't believe that someone was able to tame someone such as Poison Ivy to the point where she'll say things with such conviction that could only be taken as the truth. However, the person that caused this change happened to know Batman?

Who was it?

Both Diana and Dawn racked their brains over the question, but it seemed Bruce had already figured out who Pamela was talking about it as there was an angry expression on his face.

"It's Ethan isn't it?" Bruce said through clenched teeth.

Pamela simply smirked, throwing the seeds on the ground to form four more familiars that were bigger than the one that was holding Talia. However, these familiars weren't humanoid and instead took the form of snake-like creatures that grew over 10ft in a matter of seconds. Their eyes glowed with an ominous green light as purple gas was expelled out of their mouths.

"We're leaving this place whether you can help it or not. You'll see your girlfriend later. I know all about you and your fling with this assassin. Let's go, Myra. " Pamela started to walk towards the exit that was located behind the three heroes with her familiars out in front, eyeing their every move like a predator ready to strike.

Pamela planned on walking right out the front door, it was unknown where she gained the confidence and courage to do so especially when sirens belonging to the police could be heard in the background.

But how could Batman let her get away especially when she knows the whereabouts of the man who he was still trying to track down?

Bruce waited when Pamela was close to finally strike, throwing his batarangs towards the familiars in front that were set to explode.

*Beep Beep Beep! BOOM!* The throwing weapons exploded on contact, expelling large amounts of gray smoke that provided the caped hero cover to make his way to Talia to free her.

Dawn and Diana also took this chance to attack as Bruce was the leader of this operation and if he was attacking then they should follow without question. However, there was a lot on Diana's mind as she charged into battle. The demigod couldn't help be jealous of the villainess and newfound love that was enough to change her entire outlook on life.

Diana wondered if she were able to find love then would it change her for the better or worse?

'No...get rid of such thoughts. ' She clenched her teeth as she leaped into the mass of smoke with Dawn by her side. Suddenly, however, the smoke that was covering the area was dispersed moments after hearing something akin to clap.

*Fwooosh!* The smoke blew away along with a strong gust of air that forced the two to shield their eyes.

Once the smoke was clear, they found that Bruce who went in first was captured by one of the snake familiars with their tail. He struggled to move with all his might, but the hold on him robbed him of his chances to escape while it squeezed tighter by the second.

*Crack*

"Release him! Dawn alert the others!" Diana shouted while drawing her lasso.

"Already here!" A familiar voice said as a figure dressed in red dropped in from the ceiling, landing on top of the familiar that was holding Bruce and showering punches on his head, beating it with wild laughter.

"Hank look out!" Dawn spotted a shadow moving towards the hero Hawk at unimaginable speeds.

"Huh?-"

*BOOM!* Hank didn't know what hit him, but it felt like he smashed by a runaway train, forcing a painful groan from his mouth as he crashes into the ground.

Diana was able to see everything, it was the tall brown woman that stopped her charge earlier. The woman had leaped from her previous location towards Hank and smashed his face with her right fist.

Seeing such speed and power made Diana think of a certain boy scout hero, but this woman wasn't holding back. Her ears definitely caught the sound of something breaking and it wasn't her fist.

Hank was a strong resilient hero, but the attack left his jaw broken and he was forced to hold his mouth closed despite the pain.

Dawn was secretly happy as it meant that her partner's mouth will be shut for quite a while.

"Myra I'll leave this to you. I'll go on ahead." Pamela said.

"Master said not to kill...but I'll make sure they won't walk for a while." Myra scowled whilst cracking her knuckles.

(A/N: I'll just say this now, Ethan still believes that heroes shouldn't be killed for the good of the Earth. It's just a mindset one gets from reading about them that typically paints them in a positive light. However, he will find out that not all heroes deserve to continue living. Who? You'll find out haha)

As all of that happened, Harley and Ethan were busy killing Genomorphs as they traveled deeper into Cadmus to find the source of the energy Ethan that became more prevalent as they moved.

He knew that that the clone of Superboy was at the bottom level, but should he free him?

The teenager is a clone of Superman that is being fed information by one of those smaller Genomorphs as he grows in a tube. Of course, he could use him for the team he will create in the future, but that would require him to have some form of a base as he wasn't going to let him travel him.

'Probably leave him to the Justice League. I'll tell Pamela to tell them about it. I'm sure they will be thrilled.' He thought as he smashed incoming Genomorph into a wall, killing it on impact.

Currently, they were on floor thirty as they used the elevator again after swiping it from a passing scientist who was simply leaving to go home. The floor they were on was larger then the one they found the captives and along the walls were tubes filled with what looked to be the start of a Genomorph as he could make out their beady eyes and horns.

"This feels like it goes on forever." Harley groaned as she killed the last of the Genomorph that was after them. She was excited to fight by Ethan's side, but she was getting a bit annoyed that he wasn't showing her attention.

'No...No! Don't do that remember what he promised...It's coming soon.' Harley's face became flushed from just thinking about Ethan's promise to her that pretty much kept her in check for a while. She didn't get to have sex with him at all and focused only on her training because of the promise.

Ethan could smell quite a bit with his nose, and picking up the smell of arousal was a simple task especially when that person was sticking to your side like glue.

'I have sex deviant as a mate...' Ethan thought with a wry smile, but Harley couldn't see because of the mask.

"Hmm~ Mm~ Humm~" The blonde started to hum a toon as they made their way to the next floor. Seeing a beautiful girl in blood-stained clothes while they hum was bizarre.

But still, that girl happened to be his second wife, and he wasn't phased by it. In fact, it somehow made him happy which was strange when he thought it about.

'I guess I'm becoming crazy as well..'' Ethan lifted his mask and planted a swift peck on Harley's cheek.

"Mm?" Harley was surprised, but then she smiled from ear to ear before jumping into his arms and returning the favor with more passion. "You have three days, 10 hours, and 32 minutes left you know?~"

"You even have it down to the minutes?" Ethan was a bit stunned that someone like her could remember the time like that. She was far from being stupid, but she was an airhead who typically keeps brain activity...quite low.

"Heh~ " She playfully stuck out her tongue. "I just wanted to keep myself...motivated~," She said, leaping out of his arms and performing a perfect backflip before landing on her feet.

"You two are trespassing. Normally I would just kick you out, but you've gone too far. I think you need a beating." A man with a golden mask and shield on his right arm emerged from the elevator they came from just moments ago. He was a tall and athletic man with a demeanor that makes one question how someone like him could work for the Light.

However, Ethan knew all about this man, and more than likely he was one of his many clones.

"Guardian."
