Unknown to Sharmaine, Areej was already being escorted outside the Centurion Hall with Leo and his grandmother.
Surrounded by armored guards, Leo kept holding the hand of Areej.
He had no choice but to come along with his grandmother to a secret passage out of the main banquet hall.
After he heard explosions from outside and seeing the Alphas shifted into their wolf forms, he knew that aside from whatever chaos going on outside, it would be more difficult to assure the safety of Areej if he used the other pathway.
So, he had to go along with his grandmother to assure the safety of Areej and maybe he could find Alliyah afterwards.
