The heels of Amir's boots scraped against the dark stone floor. Why did I ever come here?
His eyes darted around the shadowed hall, a brooding and ominous prison that might engulf him at any moment.
The oppressive silence seemed to hold an air of anticipation, as if it knew something was coming. Amir hoped that was just his imagination.
A cold hand closed on his arm.
Amir tried to scream but another hand reached out and closed around his mouth. He kicked and struggled, but his captor was relentless. He felt himself dragged inevitably towards... Oh my g...
A yawning chasm of pure blackness that seemed to open its gaping maw to swallow him up. Fear seized Amir as he tried desperately to resist, but whatever was holding him was too strong. The blackness consumed him.
Suddenly, the hands vanished. He was alone in the darkness. The silent, impenetrable, evil darkness.
Then, all at once, it rushed inside him, freezing him and filling him with a dead weight. He writhed uncontrollably, fighting against the inky oppressor, but it was too strong.
The light was all gone. He was completely alone.
