Chereads / Ship of Broken Hearts / Chapter 6 - Chapter 3

Chapter 6 - Chapter 3

Huh? What in the actual fantasy movie is this?

Are we in some kind of a fairy tale here?

"You must not say that in front of my people, Kitty. Or they might skin you alive." I heard him chuckle but I couldn't care less. My mind totally stopped working for a second, and I know it's still buffering as of right now. I am still processing all the things I've heard and encountered in the past few minutes.

My attention is still in the people in front of us. They are still bowing their heads while our ship is approaching towards them.

The moment our ship got in contact with the shore, the crowd immediately raised their heads in sync like they were programmed to do so. They are back to being the lively mob awhile  ago.

"Come on, Kitty." Sebastian walked first and I reluctantly followed him.

The crew men are already gathering all the stuffs they have obtained from our ship. From the weaponries to the riches.

They are passing down the things they have gathered to the shore to depart it. Sebastian told me to keep myself in the corner for a minute until they're done so that the way is clear.

I was still in the midst of my battling with my mind.

What have I got myself into?

I was just staring into the void space of the ship while I could hear the loud screams below the ship.

"Hallooo!" Earl suddenly appeared in front of me.

"The fuck do you want?" I asked, still out of my zone. I didn't even waste a single glance towards him.

"Ohhh how cold could you be to me?" He hugged himself and acted like hurt.

"Shut your trap."

"Damn, you're one hell of cursing machine." He looked at me in astonishment.

"I didn't even curse that much today." I rolled my eyes at him. Why is he so annoying. First he jumped on me out of nowhere, now he's acting like we're some kind of a buddy.

He didn't respond and just looked at the  gap in the wall. He could probably see what was going on outside from that hole.

"Tch. They are so noisyyy!" He pouted.

"I wish I had someone waiting for my return too though." He pouted even more.

I rolled my eyes. Throwing tantrums like that, what is he? A kid? Cringe.

The reason why there are so much noise below is because the spouses, daughters, aunt and other relatives of this ship's crew men is waiting for them.

The noises outside seems to settle down a bit.

"Looks like it's time for us to go down." Earl fixed his crumpled shirt and motioned his hands towards me, asking me to follow him.

I silently followed him. Instead of recklessly going down the ship by ropes or jumping just like the crew men did, Earl and I walked towards the deck just below this ship's  floor. The wooden stairs seems to be old. It squeaks whenever I set my foot on any of them.

When we're already below, we saw a circular door like exit. It was made out of metal and it seems to be quite hard to open. It has rust all over its body and it's kind of very old.

"It's been so long since this has been used." Earl said while attempting to open the door.

"Why? Aren't you guys always sailing?" I asked.

"Well yeah, but we rarely use this door. As you can see, all of them just either jump or uses ropes to get off the ship." He paused to a bit to breathe a little and exerts more force to open the door. "As you can see, just opening this damn door is a lot of hassle. It's much more easier to jump off the ship. Maybe you should try to learn to jump off of the ship as soon as possible also, or if you want, you could use the ropes." He said his last remark as a joke but it has a touch of a real advice.

"Yeah, whatever."

"There." He opened the door wide open for me.

Inside it was a short cylindrical tunnel. I immediately crawled my way outside the ship.

My head was already out and I could feel the cool breeze from the ocean. It's still morning so the sunray's heat are still quite bearable.

As soon as I got off the ship, I immediately felt a crowded stare at me. I turned my gaze towards the area which is where the mob is located.

I could see different expressions from their faces. Some are looking confused, some are giving me dead looks and some just doesn't care at all.

"Listen ladies and gentlemen, you may now leave the scene and we'll have a feast later at the end of the day because we've exploited some good stuffs awhile ago!" Earl suddenly shouted and this made the crowd hyped up. They scream in sync with Earl.

Earl suddenly lowered his hyping and faced me. He put his hands on his hips and smiled. "Now, follow me, Milady." He then walked first towards the who-knows-where place.

I just followed him with my mind completely blank.

I'm completely lost right now.

I took my time re-thinking each and every details I've been through since yesterday's midnight. So, I've been in an illegal cruise ship and then I've met these weirdos that I've thought are some kind of a cosplayer but turns out the real deal, and now they might actually have a monarchy here.

Not to mention, it's not quite impossible that, that person I have been insulting quite a bit now is their ruler....

He said it himself. It's not quite impossible since he's already the captain of this goddamn crew of pirates.

"You know..."" Earl suddenly talked to me.

I looked at him. "What?"

"You're strong. Why?"

I raised my left eyebrow because of what he said. "Huh?"

"Why? Why are you strong?" He seriously asked with his gaze in front and his hands are inside his pockets. "My wrist still hurts."

I scoffed. "And whose fault do you think that is?"

"Fine. Mine. But why are you strong?"

"What?" This time,  I know the confusion is really visible on my expression.

"Do I need a fuckin' reason to be strong? The fuck?" I looked at him weirdly.

"Yeah?" He shrugged.

"What a weirdo." I rolled my eyes and just ignored him.

What's going to happen to me now? Can I survive with these weirdos around me?
