Chapter 11 - Chapter 7: She is Lying

Recap

There stood the girl she had kissed last night and the girl because of whom she was getting threats. Ash couldn't understand why was fate trying to bond them together.

"Why the hell is that pendrive with her? I am not getting a single shit that's going on Blaze." Blade said as she and Blaze entered into a mall tracking a girl named as Ashley Williams, who was in possession of a very important pendrive which Blaze was assigned to bring.

"I will tell you everything later Blade. I am just so stressed, annoyed and angry right now." Blaze told Blade. She was feeling so much more than that but she couldn't word them. That's how feelings are a person never actually feels only one emotion. It's always a combination of millions of them and that's what makes them so important and confusing.

"But Blaze what if this Ashley belongs from the N10 organization and is actually trying to give the pendrive to her boss or something?" Blade asked recieving a you- have- zero- brian- cells- shut- up look from Blaze.

"No seriously Blazie. What else do you think she is doing here in a mall today?" Blade said and bumped into Blaze who had suddenly freezed.

"Oww! What the fuck Blaze?!" Blade whisper screamed.

"It's her." Blaze said.

"Who is her?" Blade asked.

"Ashley Williams." Blaze replied while pointing at a woman with short blond sleaked back hair on stage who was looking at Blaze with the same shocked expression as hers.

Currently, Blaze was the one who was being pointed out. She was chosen as a stupid partner for this stupid Ashley Williams who very stupidly had a very un-stupid pendrive.

"What do you say shall I go on the stage?" Blaze asked Blade.

"Yea. You need to talk to her. Go get that pendrive before Floyd promotes you to customer level." Blade replied completely scaring Blaze as she advanced towards the stage, recieving cheers and claps from the audience.

Ash on the other hand was freaking out. She already had a pendrive which was supposed to be in possesion of this girl, advancing towards her. She highly doubt that the pendrive was legal. Her memories from that afternoon flooded in her mind. That threatening phone call. She wished Jenny had hidden the pendrive in a good place.

The girl arrived on stage, in front of Ash. Unlike Ash she looked very calm and collected as if she knew what she was doing. As if she knew things beyond the understanding of others.

"I need to talk to you Ashley Williams. Follow me." The girl said and grabbed Ash's hand and she as a lost puppy followed her down the stage, through the crowd, taking a last glance at Stephnie who did nothing to stop her and out of the mall.

"Pretty." Stephnie commented as she looked at the girl who dragged Ash out of the mall in front of a crowded audience.

"Hey Stephnie! What's pretty?" Jenny greeted and asked as she appeared out of the bookstore. Stephnie looked baffled so did everyone in the audience and the stage, especially the stage.

"What happened Stephnie? Why is everyone so uhh... Shocked?" Jennie asked confused.

"You missed a show. That's it" Stephnie replied.

"Oh. Which show and where's Ash?" Jenny asked.

"Well about that. You first need to tell me something." Stephnie said and looked at Jenny with full authority, making Jenny gulp. She knew what Stephnie was going to ask.

Blade was questioning her whole existence as she saw Blaze drag Ashley Williams out of the mall.

She just hoped Blaze does not cause any trouble. She had already put her carrier into danger and working as an assassin was not like a normal job where after getting fired you can just hop onto another job. Getting fired as an assassin meant leaving your whole life behind you, getting a new identity. It wasn't starting fresh, it was starting from where you were picked. Blade knew where both of them were picked from and she didn't want neither of them to go back there.

Someone in the audience grabbed her attention. It was someone wearing a full black hoodie like how Blade used to wear when she was on the kill. Though this person did not have any leather boots or latex pants. But that doesn't make anyone less suspicious. They must just have a bad fashion sense.

Staying with Blaze she learned one thing and that was to never judge someone on their looks and to always have a plane. Blade was never the type of person to have a plan though.

The suspicious person's eyes met Blade for a moment but she was quick to observe she saw black eyes. The same black eyes as Blaze. She decided to follow this person. But moving through a crowd of people who were dancing to some weird music was difficult.

This was when her jealousy towards Blaze surfaced. Blaze could easily drift through the crowd but she couldn't. She sometimes felt like she was the side character of Blaze's story. Almost everything was about her.

She still pushed through the crowd. No matter what if Blaze's life was in danger she had to save her. That's what she's been doing and that's what she was proud of.

"Listen whoever you are. I don't have any business with you so please let me go." Ash said. She tried to sound authoratative but failed miserably. But it wasn't her fault overall. If someone was dragged by a stranger into a dark and deserted alley then they would have been nervous too and not to mention if the stranger was involved in some kind of illegal pendrive dealing.

"Ashley Williams." Blaze started, knowing that Ashley was nervous around her. She felt grateful for knowing about all the dark and deserted alleys in the cities. That's where she lurked. "I mean no harm to you. I just want you to handover the parcel that's in your possession to me and I promise we will never meet."

We will never meet. Somehow that made Ash feel sad, she didn't know why. She definitely did not want to talk to her. She just wanted to get out of this quick sand of a situation. Besides, she did not want Jenny to get involved further into this. She regretted telling her about the pendrive and the warning call. She had to do something, things were getting serious.

She looked at this girl and memories since last night resurfaced in her mind. Ash remembered how she held onto her while they kissed. That gave her a quick plan to somehow escape this dark and abandoned alley.

Blaze gasped loudly when Ashley leaned in towards her as if she would kiss her. Blaze moved two steps back completely caught off guard. Ash secretly thanked God for making her plan work. She also found this girl pretty cute, she was small with delicate features. But her eyes... Those eyes looked like they have seen and know so much more. Those eyes might have appeared dead to others but to Ash those eyes were lonely and scared.

Blaze stumbled backwards as her feet stepped on a stone while retreating from Ashley. Years of physical training had made Blaze vigilant enough to not fall because of a stone but everything she learned failed her at that moment. She almost fell over but luckily two strong, warm arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her towards a warmer chest.

Blaze realised that her face was now squashed on Ashley's chest before she leaned in further. She immediately stood upright but still closer to Ashley and was met with a pair of blue eyes. The bluest eyes Blaze had ever seen and deep down, ever wished to see. Those blue eyes showed so much signs of life. Her own eyes just looked dead.

Ash leaned closer to Blaze but this time she whispered in her ear, "I don't have any parcel with me."

She wasn't completely lying, the parcel wasn't with her and Jenny kept refusing to tell where the parcel was.

Blaze was shooked to the core. She didn't speak anything. Didn't speak anything when Ashley kissed her cheeck. Didn't say anything when Ashley walked away. Didn't say anything when Ashley turned around to say that she prefered being called as Ash instead of Ashley.

Blaze touched her rapidly beating heart as Ash made a turn out of the alley.

Ash touched her loudly thumping heart as she left the pendrive dealer girl behind.

"Did you get the pendrive? Are you okay? Why are you breathing so loudly?" Blaze was bombarded with questions as Blade was driving both of them towards W.I.P.E.O.U.T.

"No I didn't." Blaze said as she brushed her had on the cheeck where Ashley, no, Ash kissed her.

"What?!" Blade said as she pressed sudden break. "What did you guys talk about then?" Blade turned towards Blaze.

"She said she doesn't have it." Blaze said with an indifferent face and voice. She wasn't tensed about the pendrive anymore. It was the first time when she wanted to think about something else except her work.

"She is lying." Blade sighed and continued driving. Unlike Blaze, she was freaking about the whole mess. Blaze had never made a mess before. She never even slacked off. It was always Blade who played around.

"I know. I hate her." Blaze said but deep down she knew that she was lying too as she touched her cheeck for the thousandth time.
